Android :: Web View Not Working

Dec 7, 2009

I am trying to get a simple webview working for use in a bigger program. I can't even get a sample off the ground. I just get a black screen on my phone (2.0) with a typical title bar at the top that comes by default.This is my HelloWebView.java: package com.pv.hellowebview; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.webkit.WebView; public class HelloWebView extends Activity {/** Called when the activity is first created. */ WebView webview; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);tSettings().setJavaScriptEnabled(true);webview.load Url("http:// www.google.com");

Android :: Autogrow List View Is Not Working

Oct 12, 2009

I look at some posts from the past and it seems that if I add items to the ListView adapter it should update itself and user should be able to scroll to the newly appended items. Unfortunately it's not what I observe. If I append new items to my existing ArrayAdapter I only will see updated results if I rerun ListView#setAdapter again. Doing nothing, invalidating view etc. doesn't do anything. Here's a snippet: SearchItemsAdapter a = (SearchItemsAdapter) list view.getAdapter(); List<SearchItem> values = fetchNextSetOfItems(); a.append(values); // unless I do this - I will not see the update, but if I do - I'll jump to the top listview.setAdapter(a)Code...

Android :: List View On Item Click Listener Not Working

Sep 6, 2010

What I´m trying to do is to create a list (using a list view) of items (which are views inflated from the same layout) what must be clickable. At first I thought that all I had to do was to add an onItemClickListener to the ListView so if the used clicked on any of the views that composed this Item the listener would react. Well, I was wrong. I´ve tried a lot of things, including setting focus and focusontouchmode off for each of the views that compose the item´s view but it still doesn´t work. Any tips here? Can I archive this result? Oh, also ... this list view is in a dialog and the listener is in the activity that builds the dialog.

The list populates correctly, but for some reason I can not get the context menu or itemclicklistener to recognize gestures on the listviews. Anyone have any ideas why this might be? Below is my onCreate method: @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super. onCreate (savedInstanceState);setContentView (R.layout.armory_header); TabHost mTabHost = getTabHost(); mTabHost.addTab (mTabHost. newTabSpec ("1"). setIndicator ("Weapons"). setContent (R.id.page1)); mTabHost.addTab (mTabHost.newTabSpec("2").setIndicator( "Armor" ).setContent(R.id.page2))TabHost.addTab(mTabHost.newTabSpec("3").setIndicator("Accessories"). setContent (R.id.page3)) ; weapons = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.weaponlist); registerFor ContextMenu(weapons) ;weapons.setOn ItemClickListener (new OnItemClickListener(){ @Override public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> arg0, View arg1, int arg2, long arg3) {// TODO Auto-generated method stub listId = weapons.getId(); position = arg2; showDialog (DIALOG);armor = (ListView) findViewById (R.id.armorlist) ;register ForContext Menu(armor); armor.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener(){ @Override public void onItem Click(AdapterView<?> arg0, View arg1, int arg2, long arg3) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub listId = armor.getId();position = arg2; showDialog(DIALOG);

Android :: Eclipse Droid Design View Of Res , Values / Strings.xml Not Working Anymore - Fix It?

Sep 8, 2010

This was working fine when I first started the project. I am referring to editing/adding to the strings.xml file. It used to display a design and XML tab that allowed me to update it. now its just showing up as a table. Any ideas? I don't understand how I could have messed this up. I did check in another project of mine and I am getting the same results so I don't think it has anything to do with the XML.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Android :: Add View To XML Layout Programmatically / Make It Z Order Below Existing View

I have an XML layout with some custom tabs, a heading, and a ProgressBar(main.xml). I wish to add another XML layout(home.xml) to the main.xml layout, as i wish to keep main.xml re-usable for other activity's layouts and simply add things to it as necessary.The problem: after inflating R.layout.home into rootLayout, it seems as though the ProgressBar contained in rootLayout is hidden underneath the content of home.xml.Is there a way to tell certain views(via XML) to float above other views when the layout is constructed in this way?if not, am i forced to use methods such as progressBar.bringToFront() to raise targeted views to the top?what alternatives do i have in z-ordering views when some layouts are constructed using inflation?

Based on which image is dragged and on which is it dropped, I need to do something specific. So, I need to find a way so that I can get my source view and my target view.To understand this in a better way, consider a practical scenario. In the File Explorer of Windows, we can drag and drop items from the left pane showing the directory tree to any of the folders shown in the right pane.If anyone of you ever faced a similar scenario, please let me know because I could not find a direct support to such a thing (Drag and Drop) in the platform, so may be I need to find an innovative solution to it.
