General :: Android USB Drivers Not Functioning?
Mar 2, 2013I'm trying to use the SWM and when I have everything all set up it tells me I have no device set up. I looked to see if I could find drivers for me Xperia X10 and all I kept getting linked to was the sony PC companion that apparently had those drivers installed. When I installed it and did all the set up stuff it still wouldn't recognize my phone other than as a removable disk. I have the USB debugging turned on, .Net framework installed, and supposed the drives yet it still won't read my phone.

This way the onCreate methode of 2nd activity is called ... and the whole list is populated again ...
But the back button of emulated function differently ...
what code should i write to make my back button behave like the emulators ...
HTC EVO 4G :: Part Of Screen Not Functioning / Fix It - Should I Get New?
Jun 27, 2010Just starting today on power-up, a row about 25% down from the top has stopped functioning to touch. I can duplicate it in several apps at any point. Pulling the battery and restarting do no help. I haven't seen a thread specifically like this. Anyone seen this and know a fix, or has a part of the screen just gone bad and I need a new one?

Jul 2, 2010I am new to android development and have been playing around with the tutorials offered at developer.android.com.I don't have a problem with projects I create from scratch, but when I start a project from the android sample code provided at android.com or from any other android project, I can never seem to get the bugs out to even run the thing.For example, when loading up the NotePad sample in the android-7 package of samples.would like a general solution, something more global bc this is occurring whenever I pull in anyone's source code from outside.kind of frustrated because I feel that I am spending too much time working out these kinks and not being able to study other people's code against how it performs in the emulator.

Jul 17, 2010Downloaded Launcher Pro a few times today. Is the Market qlitchy today? It says it downloaded, but when I try to open it, the "Open" tab is grayed and not functioning. I can only "Uninstall". Also the icon doesn't show up in my list of apps. Anyone else having problems with the market today? Guess I could try downloading another app to see if that works. If not, it is a Market problem and I'll just be patient.

Nov 22, 2010Basically what happens is my home button stops functioning. Instead of taking me back to my default screen, the screen will just flash. So I have to use the back arrow now.
I have launcherpro and beautiful widgets installed, but I dont know if either of these would cause the issue.
Ive had to reboot my phone several times before its fixed, then it will randomly happen again.
Has anyone experienced this? Please help. This is so frustrating and annoying.
I unstalled launcher pro plus and beautiful widgets and rebooted and its still happening. Im trying to find out if this is an issue others have experienced or if I have a defective unit that I need to return?
HTC Hero :: Why Ringer Volume Grayed Out And Not Functioning?
Aug 29, 2010I attended a seminar and simply turned the volume all the way down (i.e. Menu, Sound & Display, then Ringer Volume). But when I got out of the seminar, and went back to Ringer Volume, it's now grayed out as is Phone ringtone, Phone Vibrate, Notification Sound and all the others below until you get to Emergency Tone and below, where those are back to being bright white. i.e. now when I touch the grayed out Ringer Volume, it does nothing and I'm stuck with vibrate only.

May 27, 2010I have 4 phones for my company. 2 HTC Heroes and 2 Samsung Moments.I setup both phones on my 2 pc's and laptops.Both phones worked great.Now only the Heroes are working with Easy Tether.I have loaded and reloaded the Samsung drivers. This problem occurred in the last few days.Sometimes the Samsung are recognized as "Legacy USB's".The Moments are supposed to be backup phones.I have not upgraded to the Full Easy Tether until I can get the problems 100% resolved.

Feb 11, 2014It's been just 8 hours or less, the android phone never dropped from my hand and it never got any physical damage. The screen started to go crazy in the morning when I woke up, the screen wasn't working properly and it was crazy, later I hit the power button three times then the screen started to function. And at the lunch time it started again and now I can't use the screen. The notification bar (or something you pull to use wifi) isn't working. I can't pull it down to use Bluetooth or WiFi or Mobile Data (I don't have SIM yet). Well, it never happened like this before (even if it happened it caused me less damaged). The screen went crazy, even if I wasn't touching this thing the screen was functioning all by itself. It's Android 4.3 and it's latest update for my phone and the next OS is releasing next month.
Phone: Sony Xperia Z (C6602).
Has 3G but no 4G and I never used 3G network.
Why is my phone's screen not working properly? Do I need to use function reset to use it again?

Nov 7, 2010I couldn't find anything on this so here we go.We all have the hard button for "Search".is it possible to have it search EVERYTHING but not give you Google suggestions first? (I can uncheck Google in the settings, but I want those suggestions as well, just not to clutter the top of the search) Let's say I want to find a Pizza place down the street from me.It's very possible it's already in my contacts, so when I type in "Johnny G's", I'd rather see any possible contacts first, and google searches after.But instead I get all google and youtube suggestions first and have to scroll through a long list to see if the contact is in my phone.This is the same for Songs and Artists as well.ALSO, anybody have a problem using the search button in Landscape?I type in something, then hit the back button to drop the keyboard, and it returns me back to the home screen.This works for dropping the keyboard in text messages because it's quicker than Holding the menu button.

Jul 23, 2010For periods of time, my Home & Back buttons doesn't work on my Desire. Sometimes, they work perfectly without any problems. My menu and search buttons always work fine. Is it a loose connection that i can repair somehow?
It has never been dropped or damaged in any way. I've tried to find someone with the same problem as I, but with no luck.
HTC Desire :: Bottom Half Of Screen Not Functioning Properly
Aug 2, 2010I've just come to notice a problem with my desire, which I believe to be fairly long standing.For quite a long time I've been thinking that scrolling down lists/webpages/in apps etc has been quite stuttery, the wierd thing being that if you flick the list/page/whatever and let go (ie let the momentum take it) it's a lot smoother. I noticed today that when I'm scrolling with my finger on the top half of the screen it's actually really smooth, but as soon as my finger reaches the halfway point on the screen it starts to stutter. The stuttering isn't random, it seems like there's a grid of sensitivity on the screen, so it only catches up every 5mm or so (it feels like there's about 15 points of sensitivity horizontally on the screen).To test it I first downloaded the multitouch test app (as it purely reads from the driver where the touches are being detected and displays it on the screen). It still happened. I then downloaded a free drawing app, which seems to accentuate the problem, as when my finger reaches the midpoint of the screen it stops drawing altogether!I imagine it's probably a hardware problem as it's been happening for ages (only just recognised though) and during that time I've installed a debranded rom and then updated to froyo.Has anyone else noticed anything similar? I'll try and get a video on youtube to show the problem at some point. Any advice of things to try or should i just call T-Mobile support?

Have downloaded a new Bootanimation.zip and accompanying audio file from XDA devs website.
Now...can't seem to get it to function properly. WHERE do I put these files? I put them in the /local/data folder and it used the stock VZW boot animation when I rebooted.
Do I need to RENAME the file? Or do I just have it placed in the wrong location?
Motorola Droid X :: Home / Back Keys Double Functioning
Jul 16, 2010I just got my first android phone, the droid x yesterday. Loving it so far but I've got a minor issue that drives me insane (even though it really is a non issue). I've got the volume keys on the right, and then the home and back keys at the bottom front. Whenever I click home or back, they do the home and back function, but also do volume up and volume down with every click. Its painfully annoying, because it vibrates and pops up the volume window over the top of everything, every time. And obviously, the home and back keys are two of the most clicked buttons on the phone, so its constantly going up n down. I think this also adds to battery drainage as its double functioning/working twice as much. Does anyone know of a way to disable the home lkey and back key from controlling my volume as well?

Aug 16, 2010Hi everyone, I recently flashed sapphire 1.0.0, frozen yogurt, bugless beast 0.4 with clockwork mod recovery V 2.0.1.3, and had success with all roms above, except for the fact that in sapphire, i'm greeted by the droid setup tutorial, which is completely non-responsive, (I remove the setupwizard.apk from the Gapps .zip which causes it to set up without a hitch), and in all of the mentioned roms, when I attempt to use gmail, gtalk, or the market they all crash on startup. In the market I see a hint of the EULA before im booted back to the home screen. I'm coming from 2.2 build number "voles-userdebug 2.2 FRFxx 49593 test-keys".

May 21, 2013Earlier I've posted about losing my keychar and keylayout folders but however downloading some files and folders from the internet and from other (non-samsung phones) my keys started working...However my home key, back key, the power keys doesn't work!
I probably think that some files are missing from my system folder (keychar and keylayout folder). I do not want to re-install my android once again. (I do not have backups either)

I'm creating it by calling showDialog with the display's id. The onCreateDialog handler logs fine and I can step through it without an issue, but I've attached it since it seems like I'm missing something:

Is there something missing from this? Some questions have talked about having this problem when creating a dialog from onCreate, which happen because the activity isn't created yet, but this is coming from a call from a menu object, and the appContext variable seems like it is correctly populated in the debugger.
Android :: Android WebView Not Loading A JavaScript File But Android Browser Loads It Fine
Jun 3, 2010I'm writing an application which connects to a back office site. The backoffice site contains a whole slew of JavaScript functions, at least 100 times the average site. Unfortunately it does not load them, and causes much of the functionality to not work properly. So I am running a test. I put a page out on my server which loads the FireBugLite javascript text. Its a lot of javascript and perfect to test and see if the Android WebView will load it. The WebView loads nothing, but the browser loads the Firebug Icon. What on earth would make the difference, why can it run in the browser and not in my WebView? Any suggestions.
More background information, in order to get the stinking backoffice application available on a Droid (or any other platform except windows) I needed to trick the bakcoffice application to believe what's accessing the website is Internet Explorer.
