Can you please tell me how can I place an background image to a the left upper corner of TextView in android? I would like the image not to be scaled by android.
I have tried
Resources res = getResources();
setCompoundDrawables(res.getDrawable(R.drawable.icon48x48_1), null, null, null);
Nothing is shown.
And I have tried
setBackground(R.drawable.icon48x48_1);
But it stretches the image.

I'm using App Inventor to develop a small game as Mole Bash.
The tutorial I'm following shows me how to make an Image Sprite appear on random locations given a certain amount of time.
I'd like to give the Image Sprite a list of 9 coordinates where he should position the image after the given amount of time in a random way.
So, I believe it should go something like this:
Procedure - Moveto - x1 OR x2 OR x3 AND y1 OR y2 OR y3
I can't seem to get the logic command OR on this procedure, since it will only let me give a min and max number for both x and y.

I have a quick development question. I have an application that displays an image. You can pinch zoom/move the image around easy enough. What I'm wondering is how would I go about mapping the location of the users touch to the coordinates on the image itself, and not the screen?

I've been trying to write a little application that recognizes custom events in Android: you hold your finger over a TextView for a certain length of time, and it changes color.I'm using the MotionEvent coordinates and checking if they are within the bounds of a particular TextView, which is within a table.I am just attaching the onTouch listener to the table within the activity.But I get weird errors: the coordinates seem to be off by one view (i.e. if I touch the view below the view above reacts); or sometimes one will react, and the other will not. Any idea what might be going on?

I have a layout in which I am displaying a webview. I want to add images on top of the webview at specific places through code.
Can some one please tell me how to do that?
The translucent background example in API Demos makes the view cover the whole screen. I want to place only a small image and at a specific location (origin not 0,0).

I've got a question about android and GPS coordinates.
I've got a script done in python, which opens a socket and sends a bunch of coordinates to an emulator. On the emulator I have an application running where I've registered an OnLocationListener.
The idea is to capture the coordinates and animate the map towards those positions.
The problem is that android gets the first position, animates the map towards it and then ignores the rest. This has become a pain in the neck and is killing me and my developer team.

I am creating an application that checks the installation of a package and then launches the market-place with its id.
When I try to launch market place with id of an application say com.mybrowser.android by throwing an intent android.intent.action.VIEW with url: market://details?id=com.mybrowser.android, the market place application does launches but crashes after launch.
Note: the application com.mybrowser.android doesn't exists in the market-place.
MyApplication is my application.
CODE:..........
However, when I try to launch the market place for a package that exists in the market place say com.opera.mini.android, everything works. Log for this case:

Bonus Question: Can I use a loading animation in a image view while the real image is loaded? Right now it's just a default image.

Can we place a small view over another large view? For example, i have a VideoView which is playing a file in the background. Over this, somewhere in the middle/corner, I want to place another ImageView.
But in Linear/Relative Layout, views can be placed only one after another or relativ to each other. And Absolutelayout is advised against. So what do I do?
