Are there any legal sites where I download market content? reason I ask his, I can't find some things on the market... I assume its a compatability issue but if I do it illegally they work on my wildfire. so if I want to do it legally how can I? or am I going to have to stick with illegals if I want the apps I do?

I'm thinking of moving from iPhone to HTC Desire but unlike many people I actually like iTunes and while I appreciate I can get music from other sites (Amazon etc) I can't find anywhere where I can download music VIDEOS from to then copy to phone (note - download, not stream).

Is it legal to write such an app for Market? Is Market policy somehow strict to such things?
When I am trying to download files from certain websites, including my school's website, the files attempt to download and complete almost instantly, usually with varying bytes or KB of data downloaded, not the full file. On my school's site I try to download a variety of file types including .pdf .doc .ppt and some .zip and it's the same thing with all of them, this has happened on several other sites as well, but usually I can download these file types without a problem. I am just wondering what could be causing this problem and if it is fixable.

My question is, is there a stock browser that can download from rapidgator or uploaded sites? I know i can use opera browser or mozilla to download. but i dont want to use another browser.

I want to be able to download and install my app from my website, but when i do this at the moment i get the error:-
Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
I've just noticed that the Android Market shows a blank page with the message 'No matching content in Android Market'. Yet when I go to specific sections of the Market or do a search, one is able to download and install applications and games just fine. I've only just noticed this happening in the last few days. I'm using an unlocked UK version Galaxy S but my location is Inner Mongolia, China. Would this have anything to do with Android Market not showing content on the front page? The S itself is loaded with Froyo, as downloaded from the XDA forums.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed an app yesterday, (appbrain web downloader) but couldn't get appbrain app to download, so I uninstalled the appbrain web app. Today I tried to update a couple apps, and niether would update- either I got a message that said download paused, with no way to re start, our it would just show it as downloading, but not making any progress. I tried to install another app off the market, just to see, and out wouldn't install either....

Rebooting phone
Removing battery and re starting phone
going to titanium backup and wiping market data

It's the only problem i got with this device Games are installing just fine, i can't download content. Is this problem device related or rather ICS? My friend got the exactly same problem on other device - GoClever A73, also with freshly released ICS - also only EA games.
Is there any non-market/market, fully functional free emulators I can download for older systems. I'm a broke college student.

I've stepped through it multiple times and the thread is called and completely runs to completion before hitting updateUI.start(). Calling updateUI.run() avoids the error but causes the thread to run in the UI thread (the calling thread, as mentioned in other posts on SO), which is not what I want. Can a Thread be started only once? If so than what do I do if I want to run the thread again? This particular thread is doing some calculation in the background, if I don't do it in the thread than it's done in the UI thread and the user has an unreasonably long wait.

Sometimes it says unable to download or something similar. I've updated to 2.2 on T-Mobile and dont remember ever having this problem before. It's really frustrating.

It'll bring up the progress bar and says "Starting download..." below it, but never gets any further than that. I've tried clearing the cache already with no luck.
