View 2 RepliesI am not able to use MediaPlayer/VideoView to make rtsp to work in Android. So I have created a client to interact with RTSP server, I have succeeded in doing this.I am able to get the video/audio frame from RTSP server (MySpace) in Android. Now I want to play the frames. I have searched OpenCore APIs to play the frames, but didn't get any APIs. My investigation: There is a class PlayerDriver.c It creates two sinks one audio and other video. handleSetVideoSurface handleSetAudioSink Two objects of type PVPlayerDataSinkPVMFNode are created. I suspect this class has a way to give the stream as input, but I am not getting the definition of this class. Can you suggest me is there any class I need to look into it?

View 20 Replies View RelatedI'm tinkering with building and installing Android from source. Basically I've got it down fairly well, but I seem to have run into a bit of a problem with the wlan module, probably from HTC.
Having pulled the 2.6.27 kernel sources and built that with a .config pulled from the phone, and using that as the kernel image instead of the prebuilt one, I get the following wifi failure message in dmesg:
wlan: version magic '2.6.27-00205-gf2dabc0 preempt mod_unload ARMv6 ' should be '2.6.27-00392-g8312baf preempt mod_unload ARMv6 '
probably because the .config I pulled from the phone has:
CONFIG_LOCALVERSION="-00392-g8312baf"
So I rebuilt with the '00205' localversion and now I get in dmesg:
[61.122497] wlan: Unknown symbol trout_pwrsink_set
but trout_pwrsink_set was changed to htc_pwrsave_set way back in February:
[ARM]: trout: Switch from trout_pwrsink -> htc_pwrsink 33/8933/1 http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=kernel/msm.git;a=commitdiff;h=44a01f...
I'm clearly getting an obsolete wlan module somehow, Any ideas for how I can get a wlan module that goes with the '00392' kernel would be appreciated.
If this is a repeat of another thread then i apologize .i need a video player that will play mp4 video in full resolution for the droid.m coming from bb.can you help me with this.i don't care if it is free or not.

H.263 profile 0 @ 30 fps, WVGA (800x480), max 2 Mbps
MPEG-4 simple profile @ 30 fps, 720p (1280x720), max 6 Mbps
H.264 baseline profile @ 30 fps, 720p (1280x720), max 6 Mbps
I'm just trying to find out what video formats are supported on the Hero? I've tried mkv and avi, but no go on either. This is particularly frustrating since all my movies / video files are in mkv and avi. Also, if these formats can be supported through the use of an application.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI looked into this forum and in Google but with no success so far. Yesterday I bought HTC Desire and can not understand how to play the supported video formats- mp4, wmv and 3gp on the device. I am not trying to stream these files from Internet- I have them already downloaded on my PC. I want to copy them onto my Desire and somehow play them. I have several questions: 1. Do I need to re size the video files- do they require specific resolution in order to be played? 2. Do I need to copy these videos to a specific folder on the device? Or I can just create new folder through my PC and dump them there. 3. How the hell can I actually play the movies once they get onto the device? I can not see an application which launches movies. There is a music player but not a movie player. Do I need to download a widget or an application which runs movies? If yes- please recommend a good one.

What files are supported and would the files supported on the Droid X be different from the Incredible or is it the same for all Android phones? Are there apps that offer better support?

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust curious it says that the phone supports MKV files but they do not play with the regular player. I do have a program to convert any video format to MP4 and have done that and it plays no problem with the default player. I've seen in another thread with the droid 2 it can play AVI's? What formats does the phone play? What player is the best that supports the most formats? For my computer I use VLC and that is the best damn player there is for my PC.

I'm a former iPhone user. I was happy with the iPhone but got bored with it. I'm still getting used the EVO. I love the screen size and the notification system. One thing I'm concerned about is the resolution. I've noticed in apps such as MLB At Bat it is not as crisp as the iPhone and the video in the app is not as crisp as it was on the iPhone. I don't think the resolution is bad but it concerns me that it will start to really bother me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter using both the EVO and SGS for weeks, I find the SGS inferior to the EVO in very few ways. The most major one that it being a 3G phone, the Internet speed is of course slower than the EVO's (I have 4G in my area, Los Angeles). I enjoy watch Youtube and SprintTV on the EVO as both the resolution and streaming experience very good, however after watch the low res Youtube on the SGS a few times, I can't make myself watch it under 3G anymore (wifi is better but still not as good as EVO on 4G). But since we can consistently get over 1 meg on 3G, why can't the SGS do better in Youtube video playback? Is there any program that can trick the phone in thinking it is on wifi and playback in higher resolution?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI asked a while back about the correct video resolution for the Hero, but now I want to know; I'm converting a few of my movies, and they're in that super super thing widescreen format, and when I convert them to 480x320, they're stretched at the top. View 3 Replies View RelatedI send lots of text video messages. Before the 2.2 update, the MMS capable video had a decent resolution up to 30 seconds. Since the update, the resolution on the MMS setting (or the low setting) is horrible and almost too grainy to be visible. Is there any workaround? I tried taking just a very short high res. video but it won't let me text it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI did a search in the Moment forum for this but no results showed up. Is there any way, whether through a particular media player app or just some special method, to get videos with 720x480 resolution to play on the Moment or is that something that just simply can't be done? I have lots of videos that came already formatted that way and would hate to have to convert them all to play on it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Xolo a500s. I flashed a custom ROM on it. The custom rom is based on 4.2.2 but it has all apps of 4.4 like camera, launcher, calender, gallery etc. The problem I am having is that the camera app doesn't have any option to change video recording resolution. It always record video in 640x480 resolution. but in my stock rom It used to record video in 720p resolution.
I installed camera mx app from playstore and this app gives me 720p recording option. But I don't like this app. I want my default camera app to record 720p. can I edit camera.apk file to change the video recording resolution? or I will have to change some files of my custom ROM to change the resolution?
