Is this possible in the current version of android, 1.5_r3?
Here is what I have so far, but the image is scaling to take up the entire view, and I am not sure how to set the image as background and specify a solid color at the same time. I suspect I need to wrap the view in a containing view which has the color specified, is that the best way to do it? code...

How do I set up an xml layout where an OpenGL view is part of it? As I do now is set the OpenGL view as the only view with setContentView(). But I would like to create an xml layout that includes the OpenGL view. Lets say I want to have the OpenGL view mainly and a small TextView at the bottom.
Is this even possible? Or can an OpenGL view only be the one and only view?

How can I do this? The absolute-layout is deprecated. If I use relative layout, I can use margins, but the positions differ from device to device. I'm having some issues with the old "Cannot make a static reference to a non-static method" error in my Android program. I am creating a sand falling game (similar to the Powder Game) and I created a class called Control to create a Control Bar at the bottom of the screen with a slider for brush size (that works fine) and a button to pop up a Dialog to allow users to pick the selected element. However, when I call DemoActivity.showDialog(2) from my code, it gives the static reference to non-static error (DemoActivity is the main activity of my application). I also tried changing it to just Activity.showDialog(2), but I got exactly the same error!

The scrollview is working correctly but the relativelayout is showing up correctly in my graphical layout view but I can't seem to see it on my phone or emulator. I want it to be displayed all the time and not a part of the scrollview. I just don't know how to fix it.

I encountered this problem when updating my background to use a 9-patch image. The layout is fine on different screens using different sizes of the same image, but when I change the image to be a 9-patch it breaks the entire layout mysteriously.

while scroll the listview, the Layouts background gets flickering. that is the layout is has a background image. this image will gets invisible and reload all the time while scrolling. how to rectify this? Any Idea?
