I have several USB-MicroUSB cables (some OEM Motorola, some other brands), several 12 volt-USB converters, several cars, and several devices that accept MicroUSB connection for power. With everything other than my Droid (including a Blackberry and a GPS unit) every combination of cable and 12volt converter works. With the Droid, all of the combinations will turn on the screen (indicating the Droid knows a cable has been connected), but only a few combinations will actually charge the Droid. The only possible explanation I have come up with for this is that the Droid has some sort of minimum current requirement, and that some converter/car/cable combinations are unable to meet this requirement. So, what is the minimum voltage and current that will allow the Droid to charge?

I just copyied music files from my Windows-based pc the they all copied with no problem. The issue is when I go to play the music I have to force close the app repeatedly then I get an error message saying "sorry player does not support this type of audio file".
Is there an app available to convert files or did I mess up the path in someway that the songs, all mp3's btw, just aren't being located properly?
1. Is there any stored procedure support in the sqlite database of Android? and any docs on doing this?
2. Is there any way my Android progam can know the data in the Android native data set have been changed? like contacts, calllog, and calendar? that is, once the data inside the Android native database have been changed, can my program be notified? and how to do it?
Has anyone else had this issue while trying to play MP3's through the Music player? I downloaded this album the other day (legally of course), the first track plays fine but the rest of them just throw up this error.

The tracks play fine in media player so I'm a little stumped.
I am getting the following error when I try to play some song using the standard "Music" App: "sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file" So far I have only had this happen on .ogg files. I can play some .ogg files with no problem but other will not play. Often there is one I can play and one I can't from the same album which I ripped from my CD in the same ripping session so the encoding parameters should be the same. Another weird thing is that I sometime can succeed in playing a song by finding it in OI File Manager and selecting it there. OI File Manager opens in in the "Music" App and it plays not problem, but I cannot open it from within "Music" App!

When I read rows using the standard method (i.e. using the query() method that reads data into a cursor), the result is a date string that includes the time:2010-05-25 19:52:04..If I want a different format, I have to parse the string back into a date - possible, but a bit backwards.By using a ViewBinder (as suggested in this question), I can pretty much do anything I want, but the date is already a string at the time the overridden method executes.The accepted answer to the above question also suggests that storing dates as longs would help avoid this problem. I don't want to do that, just in case I want to interpret my data with something else than this application. Maybe I want to expose it via a provider.

Recovery hasn't any response on operations wipe, flash, rooting, fixing permission etc.Anyway, I found I can do fixing permission with adb command to execute the script "fix_permissions.sh" in the /tmp/RECTOOLS in recovery mode.Unfortunately, fixing the permission can not help for the wiping and flashing operations. the operations don't work also.I have also tried to flash by using "flash_image" command in /tmp/RECTOOLS, but I can't identify the flashing partition, the following is the result of df command.

I am using the location manager's requestLocationUpdates() method to receive an intent to my broadcast receiver periodically. The system is correctly firing the intent to my broadcast receiver, and I have been able to use it correctly. The only problem is that the GPS location provider only stays active for a few seconds after the initial location acquisition, and I need it to stay on a little longer so that the location estimates are more accurate. For example, if I tell the location manager that I want an update every 5 minutes, it correctly fires the intent with location information from the GPS. However, the GPS only stays active for about 5 seconds, so it doesn't give much time for the location to reach a high accuracy (say, less than 10-20 meters). My question is how to make the GPS location provider stay active for each periodic request that comes from the LocationManager requestLocationUpdates. Does anyone know how to do this?

But in some cases where i want only 1 view(which is surfaceview) and if i dont need the 2nd view(i.e, videoview), i am still getting a black patch at the palce where i have defned a videoview. want to get rid of this. View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery time someone leaves me a voicemail on my home phone number, VOIP home phone voice mail box sends me the voicemail as a .wav file attachment. When I try to play this .wav file the phone refuses, saying "Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file".
So, I take it the .wav files cannot be played on Android phones. Has anyone found a workable and simple workaround to this yet?
I use Android emulator to test my location based application. The cordinates are provided by geo fix command (for example: geo fix 2.31278 48.9533 10). But when the new location event is fired, the cordinates are not the same as those in the command: I got latitude = 48.95800053333334, longitude = 2.3033544999999997 (I use Location.getLatitude() and Location.getLongitude() methods). Does anyone have an idea of my trouble ?

Camera FV-5 is slower than the stock camera, so I only use it in situations which I need manual control.
Whenever I open whatsapp and try to send a photo, the app asks me which camera I want to use, with no option to always use stock. I don't want camera FV-5 to exist as an option, as I will open it if I want to use it.
Is there a way to remove an app from the list so that my phone does not recognise camera FV-5 as a camera?
My login for jabber account contains "point" symbols ( ���dima��� ).
So, how I can paste or type it in the application?
PS These symbols are the same which displayed while entering passwords
