View 4 Replies View RelatedHow do you remove that annoying Samsung Galaxy S bookmark? Is there a file to delete since you cannot remove it through the phone? Go to browser. Go to bookmarks. See that one? Click on it. Enjoy what you see for the last time. Then go to bookmarks again. Click the last tab "history" on top. Find that galaxshelp entry in there, and it would have a yellow star to it, meaning that the history entry is bookmarked. Hit the star to un-bookmark. You are done.

Brand new Samsung Galaxy Rugby from Rogers, rooted it and began removing bloatware via Titanium Backup. I backed up and uninstalled Samsung Home, then I uninstalled SNS 1.0 without backing up. One of these two are now causing my BRAND NEW phone to not boot up anymore. It just gets stuck at the Samsung loading screen.
I have gone into recovery mode and wiped data and factory reset, which will get me to the Android startup wizard, but after it's completed, it crashes and I get Android with no Home launcher. Completely unusable...
What can I do?! There doesn't seem to be any custom firmwares for this phone yet, so is there something generic I can use to put either stock Android on it or a custom ROM in place of this broken Samsung ROM?
I wish there was something I could do with the launcher backups in my TitaniumBackup folder on my SDcard. I *can* access that...
Are we able to update SWYPE?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do you remove swype from samsung galaxy s.. I really don't like it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI love using swype: quick and efficient. But in some programs I use (e.g. Tasker / Jotro) the swype keyboard pops up when I click a text field (as it should), but if I'm done, sometimes it shows a "done" button on the swype keyboard itself (and when I click on that, the swype keyboard dissappears), but sometimes, there isn't a done key on the keyboard (only an enter key which gives a new line in the text field I'm editing) and I can't scroll in the program to the save/done button in the program itself to save what I just typed. Does someone know whether there is a quick way to get rid of the Swype keyboard after I finished typing?
My (frustrating workaround) is to go to Swype options, press back, and the swype keyboard is gone.
After upgrading to Froyo 2.2, Swype started to behave strangely. I noticed that with Froyo 2.2, Swype also got a newer version. However, the performance is much worst when compared to the previous version. Here is the summary of the issues which i noticed:
1. Incorrect word recognition. 30%-40% increase in incorrect recognition
2. Much higher CPU usage (hence battery drain)
3. Very bad performance in portrait mode as compared to landscape mode
Can't get it to work. When I try to Swype I get the blue box of doom.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIt seems that rooting the Fascinate and fixing the Google Search issue on the soft key and removing some bloatware is pretty easy, and I'm actually contemplating it once I get a Fascinate. Here are my questions: If I root the phone, I would not get OTA updates, when 2.2 came out? I would have to remove the root in order to get that OTA update to 2.2? To remove the root, I would enter the following into a command prompt on the phone or on my PC?
How To Remove Root
adb shell
su (its going to ask you for permission on your phone so hit allow)
rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
rm /system/xbin/busybox
rm /system/xbin/su
exit
Once I removed the root, the OTA update would just come up? Is there a difference between unrooting and returning my phone to stock? How to go back To stock - Android Forums.
I basically have no idea what I'm doing so I take no responsibility for how you use the information below, nor any responsibility for any issues it might cause. After following the rooting process and installing Titanium Backup and the 1-Click Lag Fix. I decided to explore and I was actually able to remove some of the bloatware apps without being in recovery mode. After obtaining root ADB Shell (the shell with a # sign instead of a $) I basically did the following commands:
[Code]
I still haven't rooted, but this might be the one reason that would compel me to. Am interested in other peoples' experiences.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
