Download the following classes and trying MultiPartEntity to send the request:

OR
Use URLconnection and handle multipart data myself.
Btw, I am keen on using HttpClient class rather than java.net(or is it android.net) classes. Eventually, I downloaded the Multipart classes from the Android source code and used them in my project instead.
Though this can be done by any of the above mentioned methods, I'd like to make sure if these are the only ways to achieve the said objective. I skimmed through the documentation and found a FileEntity class but I could not get it to work.
What is the correct way to get this done in an Android application?

I realize that the Android gmail client does not broadcast notification when it receives messages. Instead I want to utilize the gmail server's Cloud to Device Messaging capabilities to do this. Android :: Can I Selectively Delete Receive Emails Off Of POP Server
Jun 29, 2010I used to have a BlackBerry. The global setting was to leave email on the POP server. However, when I deleted emai(s) from the BB I was asked if I wanted to also delete it from the POP server. This was handy in that I could selectively delete junk email so that when I got back to my computer I didn't have to bother with them. The Android doesnt seem to have this capability on an email by email basis. You have to set a global setting for the application for all email. Am I missing something or can I actually selectively choose emails to also be deleted from my POP server.
My Configuration: HTC Droid Incredible on Verizon Wireless network. 8GB memory card. Android 2.1 OS. Home computer = iMac running v10.6.3 Snow Leopard. I use Apple Mail, iCal and Address Book on the iMAC. I use a POP3 server for email. I have a Google Gmail account; which I only use as a go-between to sync contacts and calendar between my iMac and Droid I dont really send/receive from Gmail. I link my iMac to Google to sync contacts and calendar events. I link my Google accounts to my Droid to sync my contact and calendar events. I only open up my Apple Mail application on my iMac when Im at the computer, so that I can get incoming email on my Droid. I have accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. I use a Plantronics discovery Bluetooth 925 headset as well as a wired over the head headset with a jack adaptor.

Feb 3, 2010I have a question regarding 9 patch images. Is it possible to download 9 patch png files from a webserver then display it as a background of a layout while keeping the information inside the file like the stretchable pixel? I have tried using a 9 patch image coming from the resource drawable directory of my project and it displays correctly...stretching only those pixels marked as stretchable but when I tried to download a 9 patch image from my web server then the application will use the downloaded 9 patch image the stretchable pixels does not take effect..i mean instead of stretching only those pixels that where marked as stretchable it stretched the whole image.
