My pix turn sideways. how to stop that?

Inconsistently - when I send pictures to someone they come out sideways. I have read others having the same issue, but haven't read a fix. It happens sometimes when sending MMS and uploading onto facebook.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been playing around with the Vignette demo version for a couple of days and I'm having an issue that I hope is just related to this being the free version. I know that the free version of Vignette only saves pictures at the really small size. When I take a picture through the app and save a square version of it, it's saving at 540 by 540 pixels. When I open the app and import another picture I've taken with the phone and use exactly the same effects, I get a 275 by 275 pixel square. I'm thinking of buying the full version, will the pictures I import and process always turn out smaller than the ones I take with the camera?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI uploaded a photo to Facebook, and it uploaded sideways, no matter how I rotated the image in the Gallery. The app doesn't allow rotation.
I just allowed the latest software update this morning, and since then most apps will only display sideways (or landscape). By "sideways" I mean with the longest screen width horizontal rather than vertical Previously apps such as Gmail and Internet would display normally, and when I rotated the screen sideways it would rotate the display and resize the screen automatically. Now, it just automatically displays sideways but I cannot get it to display normally.Oddly, it now also rotates clockwise or counter-clockwise, which I don't think it did before but the real issue is not being able to view screens without rotating the phone now. Was that intended because I hate it!
View 7 Replies View RelatedI took some videos on SGII. They show up sideways on pc in mp4 format. It looks like I can change the orientation in Windows Movie maker, but when I try to save it as mp4 - it says "invalid format". It has it's own format to save it in and doesn't appear to have any other options.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI shot a video a few days ago on my new Evo phone. I was holding the phone vertically. It never occurred to me that I was supposed to hold it horizontally. What ended up happening is that when I put the memory card from my phone into the computer, it's showing the video sideways. I need to flip it 90 degrees before I send it out or post it anywhere. I tried to send it to Windows Movie Maker but as it's a 3gp format, it won't take it. I tried searching through my Quicktime (not Quicktime pro) and there's nothing I can find to flip it 90 degrees. After a lot of searching, I found a bunch of sites that tell me to convert the video to a format that Windows Movie Maker accepts and then flip it the 90 degrees in WMM. I'm a little over my head at this point. I don't know how to convert this file and I don't want to download programs that won't work. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been reading a few old posts about a problem I've been having when taking photos with my new phone(in title).
When i take a picture holding the phone vertically it comes out sideways, but only when i E-mail it or upload it somewhere.
The general consensus i got from reading older posts were, that you have to hold the PHONE(not actually a real standalone camera) sideways to take the photo in its proper angle. So my question is... is this correct? Is this actually true?
Now had i known this previously to taking dozens of photos, i would still be pissed off! It's ridiculous if this is true.. i mean first of all why can't i have the option to take it vertically for an up right photo.. secondly, why when you open your camera to take a photo doesn't the initial screen appear sideways as to identify the standard operation of taking a photo with the phone, And thirdly, why display the photos in the gallery in the vertical position when taken vertically, shouldn't it be displayed sideways then??
It's a phone, not a stand alone camera.. phones are generally held in the upright vertical position at most times.. it makes sense you should also to be able to take a vertical photo with out having to rotate it sideways.
When i view my photos in the gallery that i had previously taken in the vertical position, they appearing vertical... not sideways!! Why not display it sideways, as it's meant to appear in the true form..... Okay..now.., when i E-mail a photo taken vertically to someone, on the photo icon in their email it appears normal and upright, but when you view it or download the photo it comes out sideways, right.. but then when i try to correct those photos in the gallery on my phone by rotating them to the right so it should appear normal when someone views or downloads it, it appears again sideways but in the opposite direction, as if I've taken the photo properly in the "Camera" position to appear normal, but it appears rotated it to the right... again not in the upright position.
How to make camera up & down instead of sideways?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone knows how to sort pictures so that the newer pictures are at the beginning of the list? The default is that new pictures are all the way at the bottom, and since I have over a hundred pictures its annoying to scroll all the way to the bottom. I don't see any option to sort the pictures in any other way.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to pass location data from my application to the Google Navigation API (No, not the browser). I can pass data to the dialer, and call a phone number successfully, but now wish to use the turn-by-turn navigation as an additional function. I have searched tirelessly through Android documentation, Google Maps API Documentation, and the web without luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction or hint how I can pass the service my data?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDear Android community, i've a license/legal question regarding asking Google directions to be drawn directly into the MapView. Some of you know that asking google http://maps.google.com/maps/nav will give directions in Json + a Polyline encoded form. What i would like to know is, where is the Terms of Service regarding this functionality? It is for Google internal use or not? There's also the KML which gives similar informations. Please note that it is NOT for real time driving directions but a path to be drawn from a point to another and your position NOT refreshed in real time and of course it is for an app downloadable free of charge.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFrustrating - but apparently the capability is I can customize a route online with Google Maps, save it to my maps and send it to the phone but it sends the static map.Ridiculously, all this power and I can't take those directions from the PC and turn them into turn by turn directions on the phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would really like to incorporate turn-by-turn directions to our application, but it appears to be against the TOS. Is there any way to get permission from Google to allow this for our application? I have what looks like one other app allow this interface.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know about anyone else, but I HATE the turn-by-turn directions voice in Google Navigation. I have a Moto Droid and the voice is practically unintelligible. As a die-hard Google devotee,I have faith that they will correct the problem if enough people tell them to. Surprisingly, I was not able to find this suggestion on their product suggestion forum, so I created one.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid for about a month and the Google Voice turn by turn naviagation has worked beautifully. Today, when I went to use it, I'm receiving directions...BUT I do not get turn by turn voice directions. The view of the map is from like an airplane, not the "over the shoulder" view like I used to get, and the voice part is totally gone (I've checked the volume and it's not that).I've tried powering the phone down/up, but doesn't help. I've called Verizon but they've told me they don't support this App.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe'll this is a deal breaker for me, after being pretty happy with the RUU update and the speed improvement it brought to the stock music player. When using the turn by turn navigation, every time the voice comes in the player puts itself on pause. After the instruction is over it remains paused instead of resuming. Then I have to manually hit play again to resume playback. This is a big deal while driving since I don't want to be fidgeting with my phone every couple seconds. This was not an issue with 2.1 , since as soon as the turn by turn instruction was gone the music would automatically resume.

View 37 Replies View RelatedIs anything known about how an app may tap turn-by-turn directions generated by Android 2.0's Google Maps Navigation? Until now we were prohibited by the Google Maps ToS to offer turn-by-turn directions in our apps. Clearly it would be attractive to integrate some of that functionality in other mobile applications, or to be able to exert some level of control over Google Maps Navigation from one's app. In other words, are there any supplementary APIs for use with Google Maps Navigation?Or does Google Maps Navigation run as a Service such that at least one need not switch between applications to still get spoken turn-by-turn directions even while one's app Activity is running in the foreground?
