Sep 24, 2009
I use the standard Picasa upload activity in my application to send images to the user Picasa account, but everytime the Picasa activity returns in my onActivityResult function the return code is RESULT_CANCELED, no matter if I cancel the upload, press the back button or correctly upload the image, always RESULT_CANCELED, can someone confirm this? I need to check if the user correctly started to upload the image. code...

I've a piece of code that launches an Intent. I'm wondering if there's any way to get return codes and/or catch exceptions? The particular scenario I'm facing is when I launch an Intent passing a 'rtsp' URL but it turns out the URL isn't available.

I just installed android sdk1.5 on a ubuntu 8.04 machine. The IDE is eclipse3.4 with ADT. I created a HelloAndroid project with only the automatically generated code. It compiled successfully and worked on the emulator. But when I tried to install the apk to my G1. It failed with only return code [-12]. I tried anroid 1.1 and android 1.5. The results are the same. But my G1 works fine when the sdk is 1.1. Any idea?

When I'm back from the background, onResume() method is called. Okay. So if I want to do some special code when I'm back I can put it there.
What about if I've many activities ? Do I've to duplicate that code everywhere ? Should I used the Application class and call a method in each onResume() methods ?
Plus, I would need to access the UI (changes, dialogs, ...). Maybe the application class isn't that a good idea ... ?
Concretely, I want to refresh my cache every XX time and I want to do that check when the application (or activity) is back from the background but I don't know exactly how to do and where to do that.

I have saved a cookie in android. Now I want to pass it into my browser intent. Look at my current code:
Intent browser = new Intent("android.intent.action.VIEW",
Uri.parse("http://mypage.php/memberpagethatrequireacookie.php"));
//putExtra cannot take these arguments -> browser.putExtra("org.apache.http.cookie.Cookie", cookie);
startActivity(browser);
I want it to store temporarily in my browser so my member page loads successfully.
My cookie are successfully created from the HTTP request and I assign it to a List<Cookie> cookie;
Tell me if I should provide some more code.

If I need to return my phone before the 30 days are up and they are out of stock, will they still honor the return policy and just call you when they have one available or will you have to stick with the phone that you have?

I thought the EVO had Picasa integration built in, but I must have been thinking of the X.
I just got my phone the other day, and I've been searching here and the market. Haven't turned up much.
I want an app that will download and upload to and from Picasa.
I really don't want to go to Flicker.

I don't get how a phone that says google on the back, doesn't have access to Picasa. I understand some phones have this but I need something that will work on my eris. The mobile site works great but for some unknown reason you can't access all your albums. Mainly I'm looking for access but some kind of automatic syncing for pictures in my phone would be great.

I have a bunch of pictures on my phone, but there are a lot of random ones I want access too but take up a lot of room. If I upload them to Picasa and sync the folder does it save the pictures to the devices or are they only accessible over a data connection? Also, will I lose quality by using the picasa method?

I'm trying to upload some photos to Picasa using the Share feature in the Gallery. However, it doesn't seem to want to upload them to my Google account, which is non-Gmail. I have a Gmail account as well so that I can purchase apps from the Market, and it's only giving me the option of using that account. Any way to change this?

Is it possible to upload/download files (photos) from android to Picasa using our own apps. Is the content provider detail documented somewhere. Any API hint? Or is it just a closed component that can't be used outside google?

I'm thinking of buying a Samsung Notebook and installing the Picasa Android App, and as part of my research, I wanted to know if the Picasa App will show photo captions if they exist in the EXIF metadata for the JPEG photo files. I know that Picasa on Windows will show captions when the photos are displayed using the Full-Screen Slideshow option, and wondered if the Picasa App on Android provided the same feature. the attached screen capture shows a Picasa Slideshow run on MS Windows, displaying a caption at the bottom-centre.

I upload photo's from my computer to Picasa Web using Picasa, where they are stored in my Google Plus space.
Under my account sync settings in Android, along with Gmail and Contacts and all that, I've got "Sync Google Photos" and "Sync Picasa Web Albums".
What's the difference between these two choices?

So on my DInc running Froyo I now have an extra link under my google account that lets me sync my Picasa web albums. I have no idea how this works though. I took pictures, but they didn't upload to Picasa. Can I set this up natively? I've been using Photobucket, but I'd prefer a Google service if it works better.

When looking through my HTC Desire's photos settings I only found integration with flickr and facebook.
I recall the N1 having the option to integrate with picasa aswell. Currently I use Picasa Tool Pro as a solution, but I'd much rather have it with the rest of my photos.

Was it meant to fail? Each time I try to upload a pic it tells me to enter an account or make a new one, it jumps from the caption enter page to the new account setup screen...
The regular gallery app is limited to flickr which I don't use, I don't use Picasa either but keeping all else google at least makes it easier to integrate later on... I don't use facebook either... Heaven would be imageshack for me, so what does one do in this dilly of a pickle?

Touchwiz gallery seems to pull pictures posted in Google+ into separate folders labeled by date posted as opposed to one folder labeled "Photos from Posts" like Picasa or stock ICS/JB does.
Attached is a picture of the folders I am talking about. It's the ones I wish to remove/hide.
Is there any way to have it do the same as stock and place them in one folder as well?
If not, is there any way to simply hide them while keeping the rest of the folders from picasa visible?
If not, is there a third party gallery that will allow me to do the above asked.
