Android :: Cannot Resolve .media.MediaFile?
Jun 22, 2010I have android sdk 2.1 and it cannot resolve android.media.MediaFile package. Why is it so? How can I solve this problem? To which version does android.media.MediaFile belong? Has it been deprecated?

a) STABLE
b) supports all features of a NON rooted Droid phone properly - can be v2.0.1 for all I care, I would just re-run this same list at a later date for a custom ROM running the official 2.1 or later equivalent I suppose.
c) while accomplishing all other criteria listed, still allows for overclocking by the USER - i don't mind using another app to do this - allows tethering and other applications which would typically require ROOT access
d) Accomplishes or at least allows for VOLTAGE and/or PROFILE adjustments to help fine tune battery life while balancing performance - again, doesn't really matter to me if I end up having to pay for an app to addon to accomplish this................

Sep 20, 2010My boss recently gave me an HTC Wildfire phone for doing an Android version of one of our mobile apps, which is all fine and good, except that the app requires API level 8 (ie Android 2.2), and the phone itself only has Android 2.1 installed. After much googling, I discovered that this phone does support Android 2.2, and carriers will be rolling out updates over the air for this model phone "in the near future". Since I'm not entirely certain what our lazy carrier's definition of "near future" is, it would be nice if I could download images for particular releases and install them on my phone. Coming from the world of the iPhone, it seems that this should be something rather necessary in order to successfully develop an Android app. Yet, it doesn't seem that Google offers any Android OS updates themselves. Have I no choice but to wait for the carrier to release an update?

Oct 20, 2010I am very interested in getting an android phone soon but I need to use a certain browser which for some reason is the ONLY mobile browser that works with my home security cameras.I have tried them all (opera,skyfire,iris etc) the only one that works, and works well, is opera mini 3 or mini 2.4.
Any newer versions of opera mini don't work. Go figure. So far I have used it only on windows mobile 6.0
If Opera mini 5 works on the android platform, do you think earlier versions,IE. 3.0 or 2.4 would also work? does it have to be downloaded as an app or can I install the version I have saved (it is not available from opera anymore}

Aug 6, 2010Not sure if its a LP Plus feature or not, because I ended up buying it, but you can resize widgets now. And you're not limited to resizing MOTO widgets either. You can resize pretty much anything from what I can tell. Not always the best results when doing so, but some actually work fairly well.
