Android : Onstar App On The Market
Oct 27, 2010The Onstar Mylink app is on the market.

The Onstar Mylink app is on the market.
I've seen articles about OnStar support for Android coming, but it seems like it's only targeted to the Motorola Droid (at least the demo): OnStar Mobile Experience - Smartphone Application for Connectivity and Control of Your Vehicle Anyone hear if it will be supported on the EVO as well, and when that might be?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt's pretty cool that Chevy is supporting the Droid right out of the gate with it's new Chevy Volt remote control app.
Go to the Chevy OnStar demo web page to install the app.

I understand that this app came out today, but I am unable to find it in the marketplace now.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just saw an Onstar commercial featuring a dx and a song with the line "I backed my car into a cop car the other day"
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to download the onstar app from the market, but my market can't find it. I am able to find it with appbrain, but it says requested item could not be found when I try to download it.
Other people seem to have no problem with it, so I can only figure it has something to do with being rooted. Has anyone else had this problem, or is there a way to get the app without going through the market?
I have an app that was installed via Android Market. And so, the Android Market knows when new versions are out and notifies me of an update. Titanium Backup calls this the 'Market Link', not sure what else it could be called.
how would I go about 'disconnecting' the app from the Market? Deleting the market link as if it were side-loaded?
Yes, I know this means no more updates for the app etc. Which is actually what I'm after.
I'm using a SGS - DocRom V9.6 with Speedmod Kernel k13a
I have the following clear message :
Market requires the minSdkVersion to be set in AndroidManifest.xml.
But my manifest has the line : <uses-sdk minSdkVersion="2" /> and I also tried even <uses-sdk minsdkversion="2" />... I try to put this line : as the first child of manifest, as the last child and also right after application.. Is there a hidden rule I don't know ...
A while back I read that Verzion Android devices apps will have to go thru the Verizon Market, meaing that all apps has to be approved by Google AND Verizon. Can you sideload apps on Verzion Android devices?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am developping (for my company) an app included on a project that will have 2 versions:
- 1st simple version to download using a OTA server, clients accesss to an URL to download.
- 2nd version more complex to be published on the Market.
The question here is that the process to publish on the Android Market is under bureaucratic internal process and it takes a long time, so the idea do reduce the time to market is to provide an OTA version.
There is any possibility for users that download application via OTA to upgrade the application for version published later on the Market? (Both Application will be signed with the same key).
I know my question answers but since there's a lot of you who really spend your time scrutinizing your rank, downloads and all, I'm trying it maybe someone came up with empiric science on this one :
Does anyone understood even bits of how the market ranks apps in the market ?
I usually don't look at stats but following another post on this topic, I counted my rank in my category ... 565 ... Ouch that hurts! Especially when half the apps in front of mine, are crap apps with less downloads and ratings as low as 1 star :).
Not that it would make a difference being rank 250 instead of 565...But this is humiliating a little :s
Since my app has been on the market for one month, i'm wondering if age matters ...
I know I should have asked in the market "black hole of hell " google group but the name says it all. And I'm sure some of you already figured out some of the black magic used by the Market to rank apps.
I've just noticed that the Android Market shows a blank page with the message 'No matching content in Android Market'. Yet when I go to specific sections of the Market or do a search, one is able to download and install applications and games just fine. I've only just noticed this happening in the last few days. I'm using an unlocked UK version Galaxy S but my location is Inner Mongolia, China. Would this have anything to do with Android Market not showing content on the front page? The S itself is loaded with Froyo, as downloaded from the XDA forums.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had an edited png for the market icon in the vending apk but when I applied my edited png's to Ivans rom with the market fix it seems to have changed the icon back to the original market Icon. When I first loaded the rom it showed my edited png for the market icon but after my first reboot it seems to change the icon back to the original. I assume that the market is updating upon reboot so I pulled the vending apk off my phone and my edited png's are still there but its still showing the original market icon. Anybody else with an edited market icon notice this or any ideas of why its going back to original? I have tried this a couple times and it always updates after first reboot...

View 8 Replies View RelatedMassive problems with the market im experiencing, iv had my desire for 3 weeks, and no problems at all, UNTILL NOW, whats going on?
I go to search in the market, and type in dialer, it brings up all the customisable dialer choices, if i choose ANY of them, i go to pay, and everytime i get the error message "A server error has occurred, retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen" but it is only on the dialer packages.i can buy and download anything else fine,
Can someone test this out for me?
Iv reset my phone 3 times, and its the same thing evertime, WHATS GOING ON?
Also the market is running VERY SLOW on my phone.
I uploaded an upgrade to my application and opened it again to see if everything is correct or not. I was surprised to see 8 screen shots instead of 2. I deleted 6 images and save it. but when ever I reopen I see 8 images. When I tried to download updated version of my app on my device thorough Android Market, it kept crashing. Did any one else faced same problem? version of the last upgrade is 4.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been rooted with Droid Mod forever and have never had any issues or never tried other roms it worked so I've stayed with it. Anyway I was screwing around trying to fix a problem and did a nandroid back up and and restore ( i'm clueless) Did not wipe info (that scares me) and I reflashed the rom a couple times because I kept selecting or deselecting the wrong things. Finally got everything perfect. The phone seemed to like the mini overhaul. But when I rebooted the market apk is gone. No where to be found. All my apps are there but no icon for market. Its just gone. Can I get that, download it desktop, mount, and drag to phone somewhere?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am creating an application that checks the installation of a package and then launches the market-place with its id.
When I try to launch market place with id of an application say com.mybrowser.android by throwing an intent android.intent.action.VIEW with url: market://details?id=com.mybrowser.android, the market place application does launches but crashes after launch.
Note: the application com.mybrowser.android doesn't exists in the market-place.
MyApplication is my application.

However, when I try to launch the market place for a package that exists in the market place say com.opera.mini.android, everything works. Log for this case:

I've got several messages from my users that they cannot download my app. My app should be available in any market from sdk 1.5 and up, but it's not. Why only part of users with sdk 1.6 can find my app? Should I add android:targetSdkVersion?

Is something wrong with AndroidManifest.xml?
I uploaded a new release of my app.
I downloaded the new version from the Market to try it out and I got the new binary, it also state V1.3.0, which is the new version. The description is from the release before that.
Very strange. When looking at http://www.cyrket.com/package/com.newsrob I see the old version V1.2.1 and the old description.
When looking at a G1 where the old version is installed it doesn't provide me with the option to upgrade it.
I followed the same steps as the weeks before. The Market has changed and I could use new options (DRM, not paid as I am not from the US/UK), but I kept the old options.
Meanwhile the old description is also in the developer's console (which I will change again right away), but it says 1.3.0 and when re-uploading the apk it says "The new apk's versionCode (130) in AndroidManifest.xml must be higher than the old apk's versionCode (130).", which is fine, well kind of.
When I go to http://market.android.com/publish/Home
I get a HTTP 404 error.
If Palm released a home replacement home based on WebOS, would you download it? Personally I liked WebOS a lot. I'd pay $20 for it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes, I see an application on androlib.com, or androidzoom.com that I want to install on my phone. However, I can not find it on Market, I even tried with QR Code, but still come out with a result "not found". why? is it because that app doesn't support my phone? Example, right now, I can not find LiquiDroid on my HTC Wildfire
