Android :: Need To Delete Multiple Emails?
Jul 14, 2010
I searched and seem to find only dead-end threads and posts on the intraweb - multiple email delete. I have various POP email accounts which are sent to my phone - a MyTouch Slide. I want to select multiple emails and bulk delete. I do this on my Blackberry all the time. Is there a way to select them? Is this a bug?

Is there a way to delete multiple emails at once. I know that you. Can tap and hold on an email and it will bring up a prompt that you can then delete without reading but I would like to be able to delete multiple. At once.

I just upgraded from a five year old phone, so apologies in advance. The geeks at Best Buy set up my email for me which works fine (after multiple trips back to the store). Except that I can't figure out how to do a couple of things. 1. Is there a way to select and delete multiple emails on the phone and 2. How do I get rid of all my spam mail that comes in on the laptop (and gets filtered out there). Do I have to set up some kind of email push program so that the email comes in from my computer (already filtered) instead of from the server? You can see my learning curve is steep.........

getting rid of my iPhone for a Galaxy Note 2. However, in the mail app that comes with the phone, can you use multiple emails. Currently I have a gmail, yahoo, and work email, so will I be able to add all of them instead of having separate email apps?

Have a moto droid on verizon and question about email. I'd like to be able to delete from inbox and have it deleted, not go to trash. Or at the very minimum, be able to empty the trash folder in one step without having to individually select each email to be deleted. Is either of these possible and I'm just missing something?

I just bought an HTC EVO 4G to use on the Sprint network. I'm using the standard email program that comes with the phone. I know how to delete an email one-at-a-time. In spite of my reading a couple of posts on the subject, I'm unable to delete multiple emails at the same time. How do you delete multiple emails at the same time on the EVO?

I used to have a BlackBerry. The global setting was to leave email on the POP server. However, when I deleted emai(s) from the BB I was asked if I wanted to also delete it from the POP server. This was handy in that I could selectively delete junk email so that when I got back to my computer I didn't have to bother with them. The Android doesnt seem to have this capability on an email by email basis. You have to set a global setting for the application for all email. Am I missing something or can I actually selectively choose emails to also be deleted from my POP server.
My Configuration: HTC Droid Incredible on Verizon Wireless network. 8GB memory card. Android 2.1 OS. Home computer = iMac running v10.6.3 Snow Leopard. I use Apple Mail, iCal and Address Book on the iMAC. I use a POP3 server for email. I have a Google Gmail account; which I only use as a go-between to sync contacts and calendar between my iMac and Droid I dont really send/receive from Gmail. I link my iMac to Google to sync contacts and calendar events. I link my Google accounts to my Droid to sync my contact and calendar events. I only open up my Apple Mail application on my iMac when Im at the computer, so that I can get incoming email on my Droid. I have accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. I use a Plantronics discovery Bluetooth 925 headset as well as a wired over the head headset with a jack adaptor.

When I delete emails in Gmail from my computer, they do not delete from my phone unless I first go into a folder from the phone (any folder) and then back into the Inbox. When I go back to the Inbox, I can see the phone refreshing and the email gets deleted.I rarely check my Gmail folders from my phone so it's annoying for me to go into a folder and back to the Inbox just to get it to synch. Anyone else have this problem. Any fix for this?

I got the Droid on the day it came out, set up my email account that I have at GoDaddy.com with IMAP, and now on my GoDaddy webmail there is a new folder that has been created called "Sent." This is in addition to the folder that is called "Sent Items" that is already there by default. My problem, in addition to the new "Sent" folder, is this Every time I send an email from my phone, the message goes to the recipient just fine, but in the new "Sent" folder, the message gets duplicated many times. There can be anywhere from a single duplicate, to many, many more...so much so that my "Sent" folder over the course of a week, will contain upwards of 20,000 sent messages. The messages seem to continue duplicating also - there will be 3 duplicates for example, then an hour later there will be 9. This is madness!I have another email account (not godaddy) that I also have set up with IMAP and it has NO problems at all.

I've searched and searched so if this issue is already old news, sorry in advance. Problem is, when I send an email through yahoo from my droid, it makes it to it's destination. Then, when I log into yahoo from my pc, the droid has obviously continued to resend the messages. I logged onto yahoo after a few days and the messages I sent had resent 5981 times. This is completly insane. Am I missing a setting or wtf? Again today, after 1 day of sending, it had already resent 1931 times. Any ideas? I truly hope the receiving parties are not getting these but if so, I would love to see the look on their face.

I had my Hero set the way I wanted it for the past 5 months, long story short, I ended up resetting the phone and am now try to add my yahoo mail, gmail, and my Exchange mail. When I setup my Exchange mail, I add an icon to my home screen, works fine. Then I bring another mail icon and add it to the homescreen and setup my yahoo mail, all is good, and so forth for my gmail. The way I had it set up before, I could click each Icon and get my mail accordingly in each of the 3 (mail) icons. In fact, before, one of the icons was even labeled "yahoo". NOW when I try to set it up, it wants to give me the same email in all folders. I do not have anything set as my default.

I have checked the settings and I have the "delete from server" box checked and I went onto the server and the emails are not there but when I delete the emails on the app, they will disappear until the next time it refreshes itself. This is getting very annoying and it is crowding my inbox heavily. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

I have a IMAP email system at my office. My Fascinate checks these emails. When I delete a email on the phone, it deletes it on my email server and deletes it on my office comp. I would like to delete them on the phone but have them remain on the office server. Is this possible? How would I go about setting this up?

It seems that you can not delete all emails together - you have to delete them one by one - what a faff and time consuming!!! Beats me why they remove certain logical things on this phone, not being able to send a contact is another.
