I just started using the stock calendar and am liking it after ignoring it for months and months. I am a list maker too, and am currently using Astrid and Note Everything. Is there an app that combines calendar functions and a "to do" list. I like putting events that have an acutal "start" time on the calendar, but would also like to have something that can display a daily "to do" list as well.

Does anyone know how to view events from more than one gmail calendar?Unfortunately, the Android Google apps (both gmail and calendar) DO NOT allow more than one account. What is up with that?? iPhone, Palm, and Blackberry all do this natively.Anyhow, I thought I was being clever by sharing my calendar between my personal gmail and my corporate gmail accounts. As a result, I can now see my work events on my personal calendar while in the browser. BUT.... from my Android, the shared events DO NOT appear! Why? Why? I downloaded a few other calendar apps from the Market but they all rely on the built in calendar... so none of them do any better.Is there a solution to this problem or is this another inherent Google fault?

Is there an intent that gets broadcast when a calendar reminder goes off? If so what is its name, or where can I find it? Is there a list of all the calendar intents somewhere?

Here's what I'd like:
a calendar with daily, weekly, monthly view
To do lists (which can be synched with the calendar and crossed off the list if completed on a scheduled day)
Reminders, alarms, deadlines
Ability to work offline (in case I'm in an area w/o service)
Ability to setup recurring appts
Lists (e.g. grocery, books to read, people who owe me $, etc.) - where I can see ALL the lists in a nice lay out and be able to prioritize within lists
All of the above should have a widget so I can see my calendar/lists from my homescreen
Ability to add comments to any of the above
Does anyone know an app that does all these things? I've tried: TooDo, Astrid, Jorte, etc. Jorte seems to come the closest so far...
I have been considering a new phone since my 3rd iPhone suffered it's demise and is no longer under warranty (1st Apple update bricked, 2nd stopped functioning, 3rd touch screen has gone wonky). So I have a choice to buy a new iPhone (or refurb) or go Android.
So far I have been impressed by the Android that my co-workers have. Seems very response, seems very snappy, seems pretty polished. I do have a couple questions: Is there a way to get a home screen of the droid to list out the next coming calendar items? I miss this feature from the BB and WiMo sets. Same with emails.
Does anybody know how to save the calender list view on one of the home screens.

I made a Calender with the fixture list and used the public URL to share it with the team, most of whom then imported it to the calendars on their smart phones. I then tested to see if I changed information on my calendar if their calendars would update. I found that the IPhone users calendars did but not the android users.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have been playin around with my hero and im a big texter and noticed theres an issue with my text messaging.. when i go to the programs, then hit messages and get into the "All messages" main screen i always only have one person listed (usually the first text i received) and like 50 texts...but the catch is, ill have received texts from maybe 5 different people...so instead of 5 different conversations/people listed on the "All messages" main screen ill have one person and all the conversations from all the different people will be in that one thread.no huge deal right? wrong...if i try to text the last person that texted me it will go to like the person that texted me 20 minutes ago and all sorts of random ppl that had texted me through out the day...its super annoying im guessing this has to be a bug because under all messages i would assume it would seperate by people.

I love the combined inbox, but when I get a mail alert and use it to open the email program it opens in the specific inbox for that account in the email program. Is there any way to have it open my combined inbox by default?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Droid Eris user and have been using Google Calendar for some time.I have a single calendar set up which is syncing with the Eris.I can successfully add/edit/delete entries from both applications and have them show up just fine on the other side.I have a couple of recurring entries that I've since deleted in Google Calendar but are still showing up on my Eris.The unique thing about both of these entries is that they were meeting requests sent to my Gmail address and accepted from there.They have since been cancelled from the original sender and are now removed from my Google Calendar.My calendar entries are labeled as dark blue, and these two show as light blue.I cannot select them on the Eris to edit or delete them.

However, there are some configuration items I have a big issue with as it relates to the 'look' of the email (coming from a BlackBerry).
1. Is there any way to have a single folder show my received items and sent items combined? My BB had this and it was very useful.
2. How can I edit the way my folders are displayed at the top horizontal bar? The sidescrolling folder display is awkward, it puts my inbox first (good) but then all subsequent folders are listed alphabetically; it pays no attention to their order on my desktop and also shows sub-folders of other files. Any way to change this?
3. Is there a way to change the way emails show as unread? The difference b/n read and unread is only a shade of grey, and difficult to see outside.
I've been using Maildroid for about 6 months with no issues. However, the past couple of days, I have one email account that says there are new emails to display, but when I click on it, nothing appears in the Inbox. However, if I go to the Combined inbox, they are there. This email was working before a few days ago! I even deleted the email account and re-created it. Still no email displaying in the Inbox. I do receive a message saying something about server messages and Inbox not available, but I've looked everywhere to find any information on this (even googled it and checked the forums with no luck).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a multiple selection list where the selection is represented graphically rather than with checkboxes.My list has checkboxes, but I want them to serve a different purpose. I'm using a cursor to hold my data and created a custom view binder for the SimpleCursorAdapter. I did this for the checkboxes and general flexibility.So far I haven't even been able to show one line as being selected. I've enabled multiple selection on the list and denied the children of the list item focusability. I've tried manually changing background color with the position fed in through the list item click listener. But the wrong items get changed and they don't even change to the right color. I've enabled touch focusability with no improvement either.Ideally, I'd like the trackball highlight focus bar to appear in multiple places. But I don't think this is possible unless you use the drawable directly. But I don't know how to find or apply it. My next idea was to have a slim view bar that changes color. But I had the same problem with the wrong item being selected so I never finished trying to guess the index position to see if this would work. My most recent idea is to completely swap out the view for another one if it's selected. But I have no idea how to do this either. I'm thinking of using an array list to store the _id s of the items that need a different view to get around the wierd selection problem. I'm also thinking of passing in the ID field as my from and the selection view as the to for my adapter. Then I'd intercept it with my binder and change the view accordingly. But once again, I'm not sure how to do this successfuly.

I have shared my second calendar with my primary and my appointments for both show up fine online, and in my DX calendar list, it says my second calendar is on there, but nothing is showing up. I've tried adding new appointments both on device and computer, but they don't sync for that calendar.
Am I missing something? Or does anyone know of a calendar app that will sync with a second gmail calendar?
Problem: Appointments / events created on my LG Optimus G were not syncing to desktop Google Calendar. No problem with appointments / events created on desktop syncing down to phone. Problem Identification: Default calendar when creating appointment / event on phone was calendar called "Phone". There is no calendar on desktop called "Phone". Solution: Pick different calendar when creating an appointment / event on your phone.

And I configure the username and pwd from DevTools->Google Service Login successfully. Now I can start the Calendar app successfully, with the month view/week view/etc. But I don't know how to sync the calendars or events with Google Calendar service. From the source code, I assume there should happen sync operation. But it didn't happened. And I know another trigger to sync is Menu->More->My Calendars, but after selected, the activity will crash. View 2 Replies View RelatedGot fresh new 2.2 Froyo after I decided to stop pussing out and root/install vodafone stripped ROM.I'm liking the speed improvement for sure things appear smoother. However, I hate HTC Calendar and the way it has sync problems with Google Calendar, i would much prefer the stock Android Google Calendar. Anyone know where I can grab the latest one that comes with non-HTC Froyo so I can make my life better?And for anyone skittish about rooting don't be! It's easy and you won't regret it.it's awesome having the access to just remove whatever files you want whereever they are and customize things.
