I want to join many facebook contacts with another gmail contacts but they have different name. the only thing that same is the email address.
is there any way to join them? (not manually).

Anywho, I want to go into Gmail, compose a new email, and be able to select contacts (or even have the app provide a look-ahead list based on what I type). This is exactly how the Gmail app for my Blackberry 8830 worked so I don't understand why there seems to be less functionality no an Android phone. In any case, it seems that no matter what, all I can do is manually type in email addresses. Also, I know I can go into Contacts (People) and select a person's email. This brings up a menu option to email using Gmail or my Exchange email account. This in't good enough because all I can do is open a new email to one person this way. What if I want to email 10 people!?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI sync my contacts w/Google Contacts and am running Jellybean 4.2.1 on the Nexus 4. My issue is a husband and wife I know share the same email address but have different cell #s. Android refuses to show the wife in my contact list as long as she shares the same email address with the husband. If I remove the email address for the wife, she shows up in my contact list. The moment I add it back, on the next sync, she disappears from the contact list.
Questions:
1. Is there any way to stop android from marking a contact as a duplicate if the cell # differs but the email is the same?
2. Is there anyway to override the duplicate detection for a specific contact?
I have contacts on my Gmail account.They have phone numbers, notes, etc.I can see all of this information in the contacts area of my Gmail account, but the only thing that shows up on the contacts area of my Hero is their name and email address.

Its just when I go to my contacts and press menu and join it doesn't list ANY of my contacts. On some contacts it'll suggest and even list all the contacts, but on the contacts I actually want to merge it doesn't give me that option.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an app where I want to list all phone numbers and the associated contact name.I see that there is the Contacts.People table for the purpose of getting all phone numbers and that there is a PERSON_ID to allow me to lookup the contact in Contacts.People.Great.Now I see that all the columns I want are already joined to the Contacts.People.Phones table. But that seems lucky in this case.How could I do the equivalent of the above statement in general if the implementer of the content provider hadn't been so nice as to join for me?

I have set up email accounts connecting to a google-hosted email account via IMAP. I am finding that when replying to a received email, my reply goes out with redundant repetitions of the email address on the "to" line. Example: Email from soandso@gmail.com arrives. I click "reply" on the phone and the reply goes out to soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com etc etc *10 times*, instead of just once. It also copies me about 10 times! Is anybody else seeing this? I use this for work emails, so it looks very unprofessional like I am trying to spam my clients! I have another couple of days before my 30-day return period is up, so hopefully someone else know how to fix this. Is there some setting I am overlooking?

I have no trouble revieving email through the email setup not Gmail but there is no provision for an address book or contacts list for sending emails. I Googled around and found K-9 Email and went to Google Apps to download it and upon tapping the download button a message came up stating "no devices found". The Nexus7 is running Jellybeen 4.2.1.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use "note to self" and it records fine and I hit send, It then pops up email clients. if i choose, yahoo it doesn't autofill anything, if i choose the built in mail app it auto fills the subject and the message but it does not have my email address as a default, so I have to type it in every time. Since it is note to self, shouldn't it keep my email address in there. I haven't found a way to make it default. Any suggestions?

i have two email addresses, one is my fullname@gmail.com which i use for private "serious" stuff like bank account logins, personal email to freinds/family, facebook, etc. and then i have my "internet" email which is my screenname@gmail.com which i use for forum signups, craigslist entries and for fun pretty much.
question is, when i get my android phone, do i have to assign an email address to the phone? when i tried to sign up for appbrain it asked me to log into my gmail account but i wasn't sure which one i would use.

Is there an App or a way to have each picture I take automatically emailed to my laptop email address? Not my gmail address.
