I recently switched to Ubuntu and decided to use NetBeans for Java development instead of Eclipse which I used on Windows. The problem is, in the Eclipse I used on Windows, I had a folder named "drawable-hdpi" with the standard app icon in and a few other folders like "drawable-mdpi" (I think). But with NetBeans, there doesn't seem to be any folders named "drawable".

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having trouble trying to use the Netbeans Profiler with Android. The android plugin itself (for netbeans from kenai) works fine, though when I try and use the Netbeans profiler with it, it fails to work.When I run the profiler a small message window pops up saying "connecting to the target VM", it stays at that for about 2-3 mins then the window closes and nothing else happens.Is anyone else here using netbeans and having this problem? I would also like to point out that I am using Netbeans and Eclipse with the android plugin as part of my Honors project at Uni, Im doing a comparison you see.

When I create a new folder, and move the images, they are no longer found (and not compiled into the R.java file). Can this be done, or do all my hundreds of images have to sit directly in the drawable folder?

When an image is placed in drawable-hdpi it automatically replaces the mdpi version. I need to know when this happens beacuseI am using bitamp.resize() to fix the image sizes.The problem is that the getDensity() method (in the if statment after the && ) returns the screen density and I need the original bitmap density. This allays matched the screenDPI and returns false. I have a lot of artwork and do not want to duplicate everything for every size screen. I am trying to just create hdpi bitmaps for the ones that don't look good when re-sized.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently rebuilt my project to target 2.2 from 2.1. In the old project, I did not specify a target SDK (the manifest did not contain something like:
<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" />).
This gave me an error in the console when running, but everything worked fine so I didn't fool with it.
The new project now uses <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" /> in the manifest. But now my drawables from the /drawable-nodpi/ folder are loading with scaling, making them much smaller and significantly changing the desired visuals. If I cut out the <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="8" /> tag from my manifest, they load properly without scaling.
Even when loading my images like so:
BitmapFactory.Options opts = new BitmapFactory.Options();
opts.inScaled = false; Bitmap bm = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(_resources, resId, opts);
They are still scaled when I declare the minimum SDK in the manifest, but not scaled if I remove that tag. How can I load them without scaling while still declaring the minimum SDK?
How can I access the rest of the stuff in the drawable folder, such as the Android emoticons? I can use many of what is in the drawable folder by doing "drawable.XXX" but not all of them are available when I do that.

I am trying to move a set of images currently in the resources/drawable-hdpi folder to the Assets folder.
These images are copied to the private application directory when the app is installed.
When I do this the resulting image is smaller than when I had the image in the resources folder. i.e. the baked beans image is smaller than the others. If I load the baked beans images from the drawables folder it is the same size as the other product images.
I have tried to scale the image but it has no effect.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to enable full gpu rendering on my Samsung P6200... I am running 4.1.2, rooted. I downloaded the zip file, booted into recovery and installed the zip file, I rebooted, it shows the normal model number and that on the screen, and about the time when the boot animation starts it just goes blank, although it is still on, now, I rebooted back to recovery, I had made a backup moments before, I only had 770 MB of space left so it made a full backup except my /data partition, that failed, but I didn't want that backed up anyway.
I thought well maybe I should restore, so I went to advanced restore and chose the boot partition to restore, restore was succesful, I restarted and did the same thing, now I try to restore the whole backup and it says md5 mismatch, I connect to adb and mount everything, and find my mnt folder is missing, now I don't know how to fix this, if I go to install zip from sdcard it shows all my files and folders there, but if I go to /sdcard/storage/sdcard0 in adb it only shows two folders, Download and Webzine. How to fix this, I don't want to restore my /data partition due to the fact that it only did like 5% of the backup of it and need a lot of that data, if I were to fix the md5 mismatch (don't know how) what partition would I restore to fix the boot error? And how do I fix the missing mnt folder issue?
It appears that I have deleted or moved the popular app folder from the Android Dock or favorite bar. How i can get it back?

I am experiencing an annoying problem with an Android project in Eclipse. All my other Android projects are okey (at the moment). Whenever I perform a clean (Menu:Project->Clean...) the project gives an error and I can't compile/run the app. The error is: Project 'Project Name' is missing required source folder: 'gen'
As soon as I edit some code the problem disappears until I perform a clean again. I can also right-click on the gen-folder and delete it. Eclipse will recreate the gen-folder and the problem disappears until I perform a clean. This is not a showstopper but it is really annoying since I sometimes have to do a clean before I run the app.
Whenever I do a Clean on my project, I get 2 errors:
1.) The project is missing gen folder.
2.) There is a build path error.
I go to "Configure build path" and uncheck "Android 1.6". It works. If I do this again, I go and this time check "Android 1.6". It again works.
If anybody is creating multi-touch apps for Android, you may have noticed the MotionEvent class is getting more and more complicated over time. Additionally you may have discovered your code has different quirky behavior on different devices (e.g. on Synaptics devices, touch-down / touch-up can cause sudden jumps in pointer position before the down/up event is received).
I have written a class to simplify the process of writing multi-touch applications for Android, and just updated it to Android 2.2 (and to handle 3+ touch points on true 2D multi-touch sensors, as present on the HTC Incredible and HTC EVO 4G), and moved the project to Google Code hosting:

I should start off by mentioning im completely new to rooting and custom ROM (or even UNIX for that matter).I've just flashed a CM 10.1 rom onto my LG Optimus 2x. In the process my phone has lost its IMEI, and for that reason i cannot connect to any mobile network.In the 'about phone' section of the settings, it shows IMEI as unknown and Baseband as unknown.
I've learned that this may have to do with a corrupted EFS folder/partition. I didn't make a backup of this folder (i were following didn't mention that i should have done that)Now I'm trying to follow along with this guide to recover my IMEI. URL>....The problem is i don't even find the /efs folder in both the terminal emulator or this app I've downloaded "ES File explorer". Does it mean its been deleted? I've read that it may need to be mounted so i found this command somewhere on XDA to use
The first line worked in the terminal emulator, but when i tried entering the second line i get an error 'mount: No such file or directory'.
I want to access files in the /sys, to be exact in the /sys/class folder. I just need to read some values there. I tried the Context.openFileInput method, but got only exceptions and I understand this is not the right way.
