Android :: How To Run Gmote Before Windows Login?
Nov 1, 2010
I have just installed Gmote on my Android phone and absolutely love it. I now have no need for the keyboard on my windows 7 computer in the living room. I only use this for video / music so Gmote is perfect for this. It means I can control everything on my phone without having to walk to the other side of the room to tend to my computer. The problem is I want to keep the windows password logon screen, but Gmote is not running at this time so I am unable to enter my windows password using my phone. My question is how do I get Gmote to run before the login screen so I can use it to input my password? I have gone into gpedit.msc and tried to add the program to a start up script, however this has not worked. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get this working so I can input my windows logon password with Gmote?

I managed to create the logic for the function but I have no idea how to match it with the database. I only know how to do it the hardcoding way.
Below is how I did it. I believe an sql statement should be inserted there am I right? And I know I missed out something. Before I match the username and password, I should check whether the user exist in the database first, and then check whether the password match with the username.
So in conclusion I need help on the 'if else' statement.

I've downloaded a few networking apps (games) that have you log in, then take you to a "home" type screen where you can change your settings, or start a new game, or view your buddies etc.My question is two-part:
1) how are these "multipanel" apps created? Is each panel its own activity? I've tried adding different panels through Views, but on the apps I described above, when I hit the back button on my phone, it takes me to the previous screen and in my apps, it just takes me out of the app when I hit back (again I'll I've done are add separate views). Can someone point me in the right direction of what I need to do to create a multipanel application that when I click a button, a new panel loads, then when I hit back on the phone, it takes me to the previous panel?
2) one of my panels will be a login page which I will post the log-in credentials via http post to my server for authentication. I would like to remember the log-in "token" that is passed back to the client so they don't have to log in every time they use my application. Again, referring to some of the apps that I have, they offer this feature but I can not locate anything on the phone where it would be saved. Is this done with xml usually?

I've been using gmote for a while mainly watching films in bed and being too lazy to get out and shut down the pc. but recently i had to do a full windows install, and the latest server files will not install for me, (something about enum class) a quick look around shows alot of people with the error and no solutions, so i need a suitable replacement. running 2.1 on a desire (virgin branded so now 2.2 yet ) being able to browse files server side would be a bonus too.

I can't get gmote to work. I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.4, and I downloaded the snow leopard gmote package, but I still can't connect to my computer. I use the local ip addresses gmote gives me on my laptop (it gives me 2) and neither works. I can't figure out what's wrong! If any1 can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

I have had DC 2.08.1 installed for about 2 weeks with no issues. I decided to go ahead and partition the SD to utilized apps2SD as I was having memory issues. That process, while not smooth, went through okay and the SD card is working with the partition and apps2SD. However, ever since that was completed, my Windows 7 box no longer recognizes the phone either as a phone or as a drive. My Linux laptop recognizes the drive without issue.
Any suggestions on how I can reintroduce my phone to the Windows box, at least as a drive?

I cannot seem to login to a particular website. I get a server error and their help desk says it may be that I need to clear the cache and enable cookies. Well I did that and it did not help. I then installed another browser (Dolphin H) and the problem persists. I ahve used quite a bit of time to solve the problem but I am stumped. I can login into other secure websites but not this one

I've been looking for a SSH app and ran across one in the Android Market called connectbox. It installed just fine on my Droid Incredible. The problem is, I can't seem to find a way to connect to any systems. There is a box at the bottom to select your protocol (SSH, Telnet, etc) and then another box to enter the connection information (username@servernameortnumber). However, I found no "login" or "connect" button, so I have no idea how to establish a connection with this app. I looked in the menu settings, but it just contained options that let you change the way the app looks and helps generate keys for you if you want to use keys instead of passwords, which I don't, so the only thing I could do was enter the target system info. For anyone that's used this, what is the process to actually establish a connection with another system?

When I go to my youtube app on my G1 it links up to the one that my gmail is linked too. I deleted that account from my computer but it is still showing up on my G1. I went to my youtube account that I use from my computer and set the email to my gmail account but it still shows up in my youtube app as the account that I don't use. How do I log into my youtube account from that app?

Objective: The ability to have multiple (two) Google talk accounts run simultaneously. Currently I've set up my phone with my Gmail (@gmail.com) account. The Gtalk application has been configured with this account by default (I think) which is great. However I would like to be able to be signed into my work chat as well, which is a Google apps premier account. I have not found a way to accomplish this without having to download another app. The apps that I've tried so far are: Ebuddy and Meebo. Ebuddy works awesome with my Google Apps account except for the fact that it sends messages after I chat indicating that I am using Ebuddy. The spam message includes a link to a webpage. I can't figure out how to turn this off, so I've stopped using it. I'm willing to pay for a version that doesn't do this, but I don't think there is a pay for version of Ebuddy for Android. And Meebo doesn't work with my Google Apps account. Can anyone point me in right direction? Maybe a recommendation?
