I am a new bee to android. I wanted to know how to recieve a rotation event ( change in orientation, vertical to horizontal ) in my Activity or my service. Please anyone answer me.

I'd like to know how the key event is handled in Android platform.From 'when user type key 'a' on software keyboard',To 'view draw the character 'a' on itself'.Probably, the key event is generated by IME,And it will be sent to parent view,Finally, view(such as EditText) displays chracters.Please somebody explains about these entire key event handling process.

But at the end of my bindView, I add an clickListener to it. But when I run it on emulator, I don't see any print statement.

I like to know using which version of Android SDK we can develop multi touch handling. Does Android SDK 1.6 support multi touch? If yes, can i get some sample code, where i can have multiple imagebuttons placed on screen and clicking on all the imagebuttons at a time should detect multiple touch events?

On the contrary,if return false, onely the DOWN event been captured. So it's seemd that return false will prevent the event to propagate. Unfortunately, the documentation (http://developer.android.com/reference/android/ hardware/Sensor Event.html#values) doesn't give a complete definition of it. It defines what the axes are, but doesn't specify what order the three rotations are applied in, nor whether the later rotations are around transformed or untransformed axes. Without knowing that, it's impossible to know what the actual rotation is that's being described.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi was just wondering if anybody knew when AUS was recieving the updates from 1.6, i took the stab at gettng rid of my iphone and instead of going with iphone 4 went with the android x10... but seems to be pretty selective on the updates. just asking myself did i get into android to quickly before it was stablised and sorted? as for iphones barely anybody got the 2g but soon as they released the 3g it was great at the time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my inbuilt email app works with my hotmail account and i can send and recieve emails, but it doesnt syncronise so when i delete an email on my laptop and then reload my email on my phone the email is still in the inbox.
Basically i just want an email app that lets me delete things and actually delete them rather than just deleting them on my phone and not on the actual server and obviously being able to send and recieve emails would also be good.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow do i look inside my current rom to see if anything is out of wack with my framework? mms stoped working for some reason. i cannot send or recieve mms or video. if i wipe and clear cache and reinstall the rom it will work just fine but when i titanium backup all my apps and system data, thats when i lose the ability to send pics or recieve them. i have not deleted anything from the system but it seems as something has gone missing. any help is greatly appreciated . i am running second wave with latest radio.

I went into the app and cleared cache/data and It works for a few minutes then back to normal. I've read through previous threads and have seen the same tips and tricks. Is anyone else having issues with their gmail? I'm not sure what else I can do besides re wiping (I don't think it has to do with the ROM I flashed so I'm not running to do this)

Basically it seems like its lost service all together.. it doesnt recieve any texts, and everytime i try to send one it says "cannot send." Once i see it do this a few times i turn it off, then back on and my phone is flooded w/ texts that i hadn't recieved since it started doing the whole thing.
Its almost as if my phone loses service for an hour+ then when i turn it off/on again it gets its service back and recieves all the texts ive missed... this is starting to get really old..
My friend just got an iPhone and he is using an app called TextFree which enables him to send and recieve unlimited texts with the same app (you are given a different number similar to google voice). And I was wondering if there was something similar for Android.

When i try to call a number it doesnt even ring or anything. when someone tries to call me the phone doesnt ring either. What did i do wrong?. Everything else is working fine. I know i did the update yesterday and downloaded some apps. Should i return the phone for a new one.
