Android :: How To Handle An Alarm Triggered Each Day

I want to set an alarm in my application which will be triggered each day. According to the doc, I have to set a one-time alarm, and in the BroadcastReceiver which will receive the alarm signal, reset the alarm for the day after. Is that correct ?
My BroadcastReceiver handles well the wakelock and launch a service which releases this wakelock. Everything works fine here.
However I have problems. In my application there is a checkbox which is checked when alarm is up. To know if my alarm is up, I use the following condition :

But this doesn't seem to work very well, is that a good way to know if an alarm is up ?

I am using service class to play the mp3 file using media player object on Android platform, problem is, i am not able to handle the alarm interruption.When any previous set alarm clock reach to it's alarm time it starts to play in parallel with mp3.I want that mp3 should become paused and after alarm it again start to play,same thing should happen with snooze.

I'm developing an media player application for Android, for which I need to handle any Alarm notification, and based on that I'll pause my playback. When the Alarm in snoozed or dismissed, I'll then resume the playback.
I googled a lot for the Alarm handling, but what I found was the way to enable Alarm notifications through code, set the intent and then handle it. However, no where could I locate just handling the Alarm notification part. I don't need to set the Alarm on, it could've been set by the user, and I don't need to programmatically. All I need is just handle that notification.

I'm having a couple of problems with an alarm app I am developing.
The first thing that I think is a bit weird is that when an alarm goes of and wakes the phone up. These things happend.
oncreate
onresume
onpause
onresume
Why are they run in that order? The last two should not be called? And this is what's causes me big trouble, because when i press home or back on the phone, onPause is run, which I want to call finish() from. And that part works as it should, but that does not work when the phone wakes upp from sleep bacause of the onPause call...

I have followed the Local Service example provided by Google, but my Context::bindService(...) always returns false and there is Service Connection::onServiceConnected is also never called. I understand that Context::bind Service() returns immediately, but my Service Connection object is never triggered. I don't know if these apply My activity is running inside a tabHost and I was wondering if that can affect service binding in any way. The Service itself may have a problem, but I can call start service to the same service with the same Intent and it works as expected. Does anyone have experience with this? Please help me out.

I have an activity which overrides the onKeyDown method. The documentation states the following about onKeyDown: "Called when a key was pressed down and not handled by any of the views inside of the activity." The problem I have is that this method is being called even when the views inside the activity handle it. I have a button implementing a longPress listener. What I see on debugger when long clicking on the button with the center key is that first onKeyDown from the activity is called then the longPress listener from the button gets triggered. Even for Textviews, when long clicking on it with the center select, the activity onKeyDown gets triggered before the TextView processes the longclick (and shows the Input Method context menu).

I'm looking for a camera app that can be triggered via audio, but also take pictures at a SUPER fast rate.
I've found Sensor Camera. This, as the name suggests, allows for capture of photos through a variety of different sensor methods. Light, Sound, Motion, etc. It has great control over the audio input levels but takes way too long to process each photo between shots.
I've also found Fast Burst Camera. This is perfect!! From what I can tell it uses the video camera in order to get the frame rate up to 30fps. Setting this to single shot, with no image review, allows for amazing speed & control over capture.
Any app that combines the two? Or if not, would it be easy to make?

I tried several alarm clocks on my droid, and they all seem to have a problem. if I set alarms for 6:30, 6:41, and 6:52 am. Each with a different sound. If i snooze alarm 1, alarm 2/3 never goes off. i thought all 3 would be seperate, but it seems only 1 can be active at a time. unless im doing something wrong. this happens on the default alarm clock and, better alarm clock.

As far as I'm aware the standard alarm clock will not alarm when the phone is switched off. Does anybody know an alarm clock that will alarm when the phone is switched off ...? (preferably free)

I am overriding the functionalities of current android alarm clock. As of now, if we have set two alarm of ,say, 10:10 and 10:15, now if the first alarm pops up at 10:10, and we click on snooze button(snooze time: 10 mins), then it says that the snooze will not be set since there is already an alarm in between(the 10:15th one). Here i want to both the alarm(i.e, snoozed one and 10:15th one) to be set. Any ideas???

Are there any good alarm applications for the X10i?
Basically I use my phone as an alarm to get up for work. My old Nokia N96 I could set the alarm and then switch the phone off at night and the alarm would still go off on time. This does not seem to be the case with the X10i. It doesn't even go off when the phones in airplane mode which is poor. I just don't want to have to leave my phone on overnight in case it rings and i wake up.
Are there any good alarm apps that allows you to turn the phone off and the alarm would still ring at 6.30 for work?

I upgrade from a blackberry storm to the eris and I'm looking for an alarm app that could turn the phone on when its time to get up. My blackberry had the capability of being turned off but would turn back on when the alarm went off. Does the eris have this capability or is there an app out there for this.

I was using AlarmDroid as my alarm clock. Every thing was fine, until I had always 2 alarms (somehow) every morning, but in AlarmDroid there was only 1 event. After that I had some weird things, like the alarm was starting too early or too late. So I uninstalled this, somehow unstable app, and installed Alarm Clock Xtreme - everything is fine with Clock Xtreme. Exception: one of the alarm that I was using in AlarmDroid is still there! But there is no more AlarmDroid on my phone. Wondering how this is working.
I install AlarmDroid again, just to be sure to delete the event, but there is no event. But there is always the alarm. With and without AlarmDroid. What can I try to solve this stuff? Maybe its not that important but Im using a Nexus S with stable cyanogenmod 10.

When i plug my BB into the charger, it recognizes that its charging and automatically switches into "bedside mode" (changes my sound profile, displays the clock, and dims the screen way down). When I unplug my BB, it recognizes that its unplugged, switches out of bedside mode and switches back to my previous sound profile. Does android do this or is there an app that does something like it? I know it sounds lazy, but I'm just used to plugging it in, and the BB doing everything else. BTW, I really hate my BB and excited about the new Incredible.

I wrote a application that load images from facebook and i show in lmageview, using this below code. InputStream object = myDataFromServer; Bitmap bmpImage= BitmapFactory. decode Stream (object);imageView. setImage Bitmap(bmpImage);it works fine for me. But the trouble is when i run my application for a longer time, it gives me error, OutofMemoryError, and becuse of this error my application crash. so want to know is there any better way to handling images

I'm using a mediaPlayer to play sounds in my application. I want the user to be able to adjust the volume by using the hardware buttons on the device. I tried putting this in my oncreate (setVolumeControlStream (AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC);) but it didn't seem to work. Is there something else I have to do to allow the user to be able to adjust the volume?

Do we hear a ringing sound when the alarm manager sets off an alarm. I know its start a intent and that broadcasts to the receiver.. but does there occur a ringing or something similar sound when the alarm goes off.. am developing using and emulator...so not sure.. also i have come to know that vibrator service is not available in the emulator....is there an alternate way to ensure that the vibrator did go off as programmed...am using the vibrator servcie and also setting the vibrator in the notification.

I am writing an activity, that loads data from a server and displays it as a list using ArrayAdapter. For that I'm showing a progress dialog i.e loading, while it loads all data from the server. Then i dismiss the dialog in a handler. My problem is that when ever i change the orientation, the progress dialog is again shown, which is not needed, because all the data is displayed already?

I briefly owned a blackberry not too long ago so that I could handle work e-mail on the go. However, I was disappointed with its e-mail capabilities (or lack thereof) and quickly got rid of it.Due to the nature of my work, I use several different e-mail accounts and I need to be able to access them using imap so that when I move or delete an e-mail locally, it gets updated on the server. Can the G1 accommodate this? For each e-mail account, can you specify things like imap and smtp server?I use a gmail account, a google apps account and three other accounts with other e-mail providers.

I have a Droid Eris, and I haven't really set it up for email yet. I don't need it too badly, as I use my computer for email, but it might be nice on occassion.I'm wondering if some folks can lend some advice on the best way to have a good working email setup between your phone and your computer, if you don't have IMAP as an option, and don't really use Gmail?I use Earthlink for my main email addresses, and I don't believe they support IMAP, so that's not really an option for me.
