I'm looking for a simple way in Android to add a text to a button that is displayed in 2 (or more) lines. E.g. A bold and big heading in the first line and a small description in the second line. Is it possible or have I use a TextView or something similar?

I want to have 5 line in height text area following code I am using.

Text area looks fine but problem is cursor is blinking in the middle of the text field. I want it to blink at first line first char of the text field.
I know I can set android:singleLine="false" to set text to multi-line in a button. but can I set where to break into a new line instead of Android do it? I tried "ab" but doesn't work.

My question is this. When you push the voice-to-text button does it pop up a window like earlier versions of Swype or does it do the really fast and slick thing that the multi touch keyboard does (just replace the keyboard with the audio waveform thing).
Recently I have been having issues with viewing my email messages in the Yahoo Mail App. When I open some messages all is see is line after line of code instead of the message text. It doesn't seem to matter what the source email is (gmail, hotmail, etc). Some emails are ok some are not. Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes?

I'm now trying to make my app work on small screen devices, so I created a res/drawable-ldpi directory, and populated it with the two pngs plus the corresponding selector file.Isn't this the right way to specify ldpi specific button images? If default device xmls and pngs go in drawable, then ldpi xmls and pngs go in drawable-ldpi, right? Could these errors be the result of an inappropriate <supports-screens> element in my manifest file? Neither the api-demos in the samples (for any SDK version), or the newer samples including multires, have any multi res image button examples. In fact, I couldn't find any example where there was an xml file in a res/drawable-.

For example, one of my tabs displays RSS feed list, after user clicks one of the RSS feed, it will switch to a view displaying a list of articles, and after user clicks one of the titles, a full article view will be displayed.I'm going to add support for "back" button in my application. For instance, in a full article view, after user presses the "back" button, it should switch back to the article list view. And if user presses it the "back" button again, my application should switch back to the feed list view.My idea is to maintain a Stack<View> during navigation, and every time user presses the "back" button, the program will pop a View out of the stack, and set it as the current view. But I would like to know how to set current view in TabHost.

My problem start when I have a multi colored SpannableStringBuilder which I want to write to the canvas, and I have no idea how to do this. SpannableStringBuilder has a drawText() method which I have been unable to use. Or is there some other method to write a string to a canvas where some of the letters have a different color?
Can I limit the edit text field so it wrap text around the input box instead of scrolling right unless I hit return?

I've had a look at the public methods available on Multi Auto Complete Text View but can't find anything on how to pass my own filter to it. Any idea how to do this?
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I send text messages which are longer than one line but less than 100 characters, sometimes the other person texts back that all they see is an empty box. At first I thought it was the other persons phone but several people are telling me the same thing. This does not always happen, but often. One liners seem to have no problems. I called Rogers tech support and they give me the same aswers all the time for different problems.
1. reset the phone to factory settings(which I already did, and same thing happened)
2. If you would like we can send a replacement phone since the problem seems to be hardware related.( I doubt this, since I can send texts and other person receives them, except the times they receive an empty box)
