Android :: Alpha Animation - Staying In Last Animation Frame When Animation Is Completed

Nov 17, 2010

I'm fading out an imageview with alpha animation. I'd like the image to stay transparent after the animation. Tried with different combinations of fillAfter and fillEnabled, no luck. How can this be achieved?

Android :: Animation.start - Or Animation.startNow - Does Not Start The Animation Immediately

Aug 30, 2010

I have a strange issue - from time to time the animation that should fade out my control (ImageButton) does not kick in immediately. I am using the fadeout animation to hide it and then in myListener on its end (onAnimationEnd) I put new resource as the image on the button.

Somewhere in my app code:

Animation a = AnimationUtils.loadAnimation(this,R.anim.fadeout); a.setAnimationListener(new myListener(location)); buttons[location].setAnimation(a); a.startNow(); // regardless if its start() or startnNow() it will work in most of the cases but not 100% reliable I actually can see in debug Log when its late, happens after few more clicks

Then in myListener.onAnimationEnd(Animation a):buttons[location].setImageResource(R.drawable.standard_button);

Seems there is a rule that the every 4th or 5th animation does not start ...

Android :: Device Or Resource Busy On RFCOMM Reconnect

Dec 28, 2009

I'm developing an application that interfaces with an RFCOMM endpoint.Through bluetooth, my Droid phone connects to this device, initializes it, and happily sends and receives data.A problem I have encountered however is when I walk away from the device (while it's sending/receiving) and the bluetooth connection goes stale. I easily detect this in my code by various exceptions thrown by the inputstream/outputstream/socket.

Android :: Best Full Month Calendar Widget For Busy Person?

Jun 10, 2010

I am trying to find out what calendar to use on my home screen. I have the standard calendar widget enabled right now, but it's useless. It tells me I have something scheduled on each day, but that's it. The actual calendar app on my Incredible gives me kind of a bubble indicator for each day that is filled at different spots, depending on whether I have something set up for earlier in the day, middle of the day, etc. I want a full page widget that will do this, just having a marker that says that I have something on that day does me no good. I've also checked out some of the apps so far like Pure Calendar and while they are neat, they tend to tell me only a few days. I want the whole month laid out for me, so I can tell at a glance how busy any particular day will be. BTW, for anyone also wanting a widget with a layout on a day-to-day setup, check out Android Agenda, I use that for a text-based to-do list and it rocks, I just want a graphical one as well. I have stuff going on every day, but some are only 1 or 2 events, so the graphic layout is nice.

Android :: Frame Animation Callback When Animation Is Complete

Is it possible in Android to get a callback when a Frame Animation (AnimationDrawable) has completed playing its frame sequence? I know when a Tween Animation has completed, it calls onAnimationEnd(), but is there something similar for frame by frame animations?

General :: What Is Keeping CPU Busy In Background

Dec 9, 2013

My phone is Jiayu G3S, with a MTK6589 cpu and android version 4.2.1 I use latest xposed installer and latest gravitybox.

My problem is that something is keeping my cpu busy in the background, preventing it from sleeping.

For example, i left it last night, and i opened it after 12 hours, it was awake and using cpu for about 90 minutes.

My normal consumption is 0.3% every hour, but now it is 3%, like 10 times more. Also noticed greater consumption when screen is on. As you can see, there is no strange wakellock that lasts that long and all my apps have settings not to auto-update. I tried reading my logs but i didnt find any info.

Motorola Droid X :: Deodex - Device Or Resource Busy

Aug 29, 2010

Droid X - 2.2 - Rooted

Attempting to deodex, followed the instructions exactly on this thread ([HOW-TO] Manually deodex your phone.) but on my last step when entering "mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system" I get the following response from cmd prompt, "mount: Device or resource busy"

The OP said I should try placing the phone in Windows Sync mode or whatever it's called, as opposed to USB Mass Storage, just tried that and again, same message.

If no ideas how to fix this, does anyone at least know what to do so that when I reboot I won't have to do a Nandroid restore? It's getting really annoying going on the 3rd or 4th time.

I found the option to change my outgoing text message under my settings, but now I just need to know how to use the feature. I tried it a few different ways with my son calling me while I was on another call, but I ended up dumping him into voicemail instead of sending the text message.

HTC Desire : Init Process With Busy Loop - Sluggish Phone

Sep 23, 2010

(HTC Desire running 2.2) Sometimes the init process enters a busy loop, consuming all CPU time. This has happened to me three or four times now. When it happens, Android System Info shows 100% CPU usage and if you run top in a terminal emulator, you can see that it's the init process eating up the CPU.

This makes the phone real slow and the only cure I know of is a reboot.I was going to check out the logs while the init was looping, but I forgot. I don't know how to repeat this - today it happened when I exitted VLC Stream and Convert, but it happened before I even installed this application.

I think this happened before the 2.2 upgrade as well and my son said his Xperia X10 eats the battery real fast sometimes - so maybe the same problem exists in Android 1.6 already.

Android :: Android - What Busy Marker For Individual Rows In ListView

Dec 27, 2009

I have android application with ListView, where each row has own "refresh" button. Refreshing content is based on asynchronous http call, so until it completes (or timeout) I'd like to display some kind of graphical "busy" marker in each affected (clicked) row. What is best practice to do it? I see animated gifs - i.e. ones with rotating circle - does not animate on Android. So far I tried RotateAnimation on static image, it looks OK but it's not what people are accustomed to. Is there any better way to mark individual row in ListView as being updated?

HTC Droid Eris :: Network Busy / Clear Dialer Storage - Solve It?

May 4, 2010

Every week or so my Eris won't dial out. I get a long silence followed by a network busy error. I go to manage applications/dialer and clear dialer storage and it works fine...as long as I do that or reboot the phone every few days. I found this solution on another forum, but couldn't find much discussion or analysis of the problem.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any long term solutions? It's happened since I got the phone months ago and I have very few apps... almost none when it first started. Not using Google Voice. Still running 1.5.

HTC EVO 4G :: Battery Life In 4G Areas / Loud Ringers To Easily Hear At Busy Places

May 24, 2010

Two questions:

1) After reading several reviews, it seems that in 4G areas/use the battery lasts about a half to full day. This is very concerning to me especially since I'm in a 4G area and would like to take advantage of it. Has anyone had experience with the phone in a 4G market and used 4G heavily in 1 day?

2) Are the ringers loud in addition to the speakerphone? Can you hear the phone ring at its highest setting on a busy street? I had an iphone 1st gen and even with the ringer at its highest volume, I'd miss a lot of calls.

Android :: How To Speed Up Animation?

Jul 21, 2009

I have a static background image, and a foreground that needs to be animated. I tried a couple different approaches but the animation seemed choppy. One thing I did was having 2 different views, constantly calling invalidate() on the foreground view. Another was to have only 1 surfaceview, redrawing the background image and the foreground on each step of the animation.

While a surfaceview offers an optimal way to do heavy-duty animation, having to redraw the background every time kills the performance. Neither produced a smooth animation. What is the best way to perform this kind of animation - static background and animated foreground?

This is it: Animation anim = new Translate Animation(0,0,-50,0); anim.set Duration(500); anim.setInterpolator(new LinearInterpolator()); myLinearLayout.set Animation(anim);the animation does what it's supposed to do, just very choppy - is there any reason why it's so slow? The linear layout I'm applying it to is pretty simple, just has a few children.

Android :: Add Some Animation On App Widget

May 31, 2009

When writing an App Widget based on Cupcake, I create a remote view like this:

views = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.widget_loading);

However, the widget_loading.xml contains <ViewAnimator>. The ViewAnimator don't have @RemoteView tag, so it's can not be inflated in remote view.

To fix this, I define a MyViewAnimator (which most likely the ViewAnimator in android) with @RemoteView tag in my project. Then use MyViewAnimator class in the layout xml file. But it failed, there was a exception that class loader cann't find MyViewAnimator class.

So the problem is: how to use any animation in the remote view? Is it possible adding some visual effects on app widget?

Android :: Way To Implement Animation?

May 30, 2010

I have a widget that periodically updates itself (hourly) to display top result of search query. I would like to extend it so it captures several top results and then loops through these. The best example would be Genie News and Weather widget for which I was unable to find a source code. What would be a good way to implement the animation? I'm thinking ViewAnimator + timer, but is there maybe a better way, say FrameLayout + alerts? I'm already using AlertManager to periodically pull search results for the widget How bad such arraignment would affect phone's battery life?
