Android :: How To Turn Off Droid Low Battery Notifications?
Sep 7, 2010
My first question is about low battery notification. I would like turn off this popup which occurs when battery is low during my application is on. I can catch of course Intent.ACTION_BATTERY_LOW but additionaly Android show me this popup. Is it possible to turn it off? Second topic is about turning on bluetooth. When I turn it on using API system show me additional popup asking if I agree to turn on bluetooth module by this application. Is it possible to turn off this popup. I have HTC Legend on which popup occurs and my friend has Motorola Milestone on which it doesn't occur. So probably it's only in HTC Andoid implementation.

Ok, so I have LauncherPro and I tried Handcent and chompsms, both messaging apps I got 2 text message notifications for 1 message. I have searched and learned I need to turn my notifications in settings off. But I can't figure out how to do that. People say go to setting>notifications>and turn it off. But when I go to >setting, then there is no >notifications option. The only notifications setting I can find is under >sound>notification ringtone, but not an option to turn it off or on.

Is there a way to turn off the weather notifications in this app? We have been having a crappy snowstorm all day, and I keep getting the notification no matter how many times I clear it. It just keeps coming back every few minutes or so. And every time it comes back, it makes a notification sound and stays in my notification bar up top... also, it happens to be my text message sound, so it's driving me crazy. The only option in the settings is for Units of Measure.Oh and also annoying, the notification doesn't go away when you click on it to check it, like with messages or e-mails. You have to actually go back to your notifications bar and click Clear Notifications.

1. Have you figured out how to turn specifically the Gmail sound notifications off? I don't need my phone yelling DROID everytime I get an email. Txt's, yes.
Email I can check up on my own time.
2. I copied over some video files using the mounted device on my pc. So how do I get to them to watch em? No internal video player outside youtube? Recommendations?

After installing the Handcent app, I now get 2 notations for every text message I receive. One from Handcant, and another from the Droid's default text message app. Is there a way to turn off the default text msg app?

This has probably been asked before, but I can't find the answer, so I'll post it again. Sorry, if it has. I tried out chompsms recently, but I just didn't like the way it working compared to the regular messaging system. My friend somehow turned off the notifications for the built in messaging system, so now that I've uninstalled chomp, I don't know when I get messages. I can't figure out how to turn it back on. I've looked all through the settings.

First off, let me state my phone is rooted, but this problem happened pre root as well. Certain applications, the two I think I've noticed doing it so far, were weather bug, and temp monitor. That have on going notifications, will randomly cause my phone to not turn back on from sleep. I have to do a battery pull just to get the phone back up.

Do you turn your internet off to save battery? I started doing this and works great. I got the widget on my home page and turn it after use.

My Droid X recently dropped to a low enough battery level that it powered off by itself. I plugged it into a wall charger almost immediately, but since then it has been unable to power on.Now the green light indicator comes on steady, turns off, and then the Motorola symbol comes up and then goes away, and then the green light turns on again. Its been charging for about 45 minutes and I'm starting to get a bit worried. Is this normal or is there something wrong?

I would like to skip 1 particular app update, or at least turn off the notification that this app update is available, but *not* lose other app update notifications. This isn't about email, sms, battery, or other notifications, only the notifications that app updates are available.
Specifically: Yelp just released an update that wants permission to view my phonebook. I don't see why they need that and don't want to give permission. The older version of Yelp did not seem to ask for this, and I'm happy w/ the app and prefer not to uninstall totally, just skip this particular update with the feature I don't like. (Appreciate your thoughts on that Yelp / privacy issue too, fwiw).
So, I want to get rid of the notification for this particular update. But, I don't want to turn off notifications when other apps have available updates. When I click on the notification, I have option to "update" or "uninstall." Neither is what I want, I want to "skip this update, keep app." The top bar icon goes away after I check, but it comes right back soon after, always w/ the Yelp update waiting there, sometimes w/ other updates for other apps too. How to get rid of the one I don't want, keep the others coming through?

Yesterday I clicked the update button on my droid, and now my droid is dead, all that appears is the motorola logo, even after pulling the battery. Of course technical support at Verizon has no clue what is wrong. The phone will not even turn off unless i take the battery out, the motorola logo shows until the phone goes dead.
As this is my second droid, I don't know that I want a 3rd one. My opinion is that the droid would be a neat smartphone-- if it worked. I doubt that anyone could ever consider using the droid as a business phone, since it randomly quits working. I've had many cell phones and blackberries and never had to return any of them.
I have the best buy protection plan, but not sure that entitles me to a new or different phone, since my droid is about 3 months old.

Is there a way to change when I get a low battery warning message? Can I make it at 5 % not the default? Also, can I turn off the audio notification for the low battery warning?
I an very new to the Eris, so I apologize if this is a simple change that I just haven't found yet.

I am having an issue with dual notifications. I have Handcent and those are the only SMS notifications I want to get. I'm getting another one - I assume from the pre-installed "Messages" app, but I can't figure out how to turn off notifications with it.

Whenever I get a new voicemail, I get two simultaneous notifications. One, the standard voicemail notification that stays in the tray even after clearing notifications. The second is an SMS notification and it goes into my text messages.I have no need for the SMS notification if it's already giving me the standard VM notification, but have been unable to find out how to turn it off.My phone isn't rooted, and I don't plan on doing so in the near future, in case that has any bearing on potential solutions.

I work 24 hours shifts, and on my calendar I have those shifts set up as all day events. I made them in Outlook, it syncs with Google Calendar. I use Jorte as my calendar app. Every night where I am scheduled to work later that day, at midnight, I get a chime for that all day event. How do I turn this off, but not ALL of the notifications? Just for the all day ones.
