Apr 29, 2010Just got my droid incredible tonight and when trying to use the barcode scanner app it keeps trying to focus and just as it is about to lock in on the bar code, it goes out of focus and back in focus again... and repeats over and over.I tried cleaning the glass but it is pretty darn clean. Anyone else having this issue? Any thoughts?

Oct 2, 2010I am developing a new application which hopefully will use a barcode reader to scan and find books. I will then use the ISBN information to get more information.
The intents work and I can scan 2d barcodes OK but not the 1d barcodes of books which I know scan fine using the full application.
This is my code. I have tried it without putting the intent extras and it doesn't change anything. code...
Is there something obvious I am missing? The settings in the app also are selected on 1d scanning only.

I'd like to create the list in the even that I need to reset the phone at some point (and also 'cause I'm a bit OCD about backing all kinds of stuff up). I've reset my phone four times (due to returns for HW issues) and have never had the google backup process actually restore my apps for me (and yes, backup is turned on in Settings). It chokes and says it can't find a retailer. Seriously?! If it can't find even a simple case of pop which hundreds of retailers have, that's pathetic!!
