I was wondering if anyone has taken a free class at their local Verizon Store for the droid. My Verizon store says it has classes for smartphones and now have developed one for the Droid..It's about an hour and shows the basics.

I want to create a ArrayAdapter for one spinner. So each element contain one string (which will be displayed in the spinner/list) and one value (e.g. an ID). How I can easily store a second value beside each string without implementing a new Adapter class?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the frankenrom b6. Been happy with it ever since I got it and havent felt to need to change from the ROM. I know there is an update coming out tomorrow with some Verizon bloatware. I don't really care about the other stuff but the Vcast app store because I want to see if they offer any decent apps that aren't on the Android Market place. Is there a way to get it without changing ROM, unrooting or changing radio?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSeems too easy that best buy will give you an instant rebate on droid if you buy it through them. I'm on a family plan and adding a new line to it to get for 199. Verizon store VS Best Buy mobile?? Any difference? I don't think the droid phone will sell out. The Verizon store rep told me I could prob come in anytime in the day and get one, they have over 100 in stock. And the Best Buy rep told me the same thing, they have 60 coming in and only about 15 are claimed for preorders. (same with other bestbuys in the area)

What if it's a possible announcement on 2.1 for either the Droid or the Eris or both? Nothing's official yet, at least about what the conference concerns, but two different sources have said this so it looks like it's true. If it is about the iPhone hitting Verizon, they may still weasel in some small tidbits about other stuff, Android included.

What causes this? I've been running these apps forever and all different roms. Apps like HD Widgets and Adobe Flash Player are a couple that are doing this. Is there a way to fix this or is it a per-ROM problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am in a verizon store. There is a droidx and droid incredible right next to each other. I installed speedtest.net app on both. Used advanced task killer to kill background apps on both..then ran speedtest.net app.Ran the test ten times on each phone to get a good average. Droidx gets 0.50 mbps max...incredible gets 2.0 mbps nearly on every one of the ten runs I did. Why? Is this a known issue? I wanna get the phone..its in stock..but this speedtest issue is bugging me. Any explanations?Also the droid x is getting only 2 bars..the inc has full signal. Been here about an hour, and no change in signal or speedtest.live update.. I am going to drive to another verizon store right now and repeat the tests on new phones..I will run with and withouth task killer. Ill update once I get to the new verizon store.

I am going to take it back for a replacement again, however I am wondering if Bestbuy got a bad batch and maybe I should get a replacement from the Verizon store. Does anyone know if Verizon will replace it even though I got it at Bestbuy?

I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm just getting into Android development, and I have a question about communicating between a receiver class and an activity class. I'm very new to JAVA and Android so I hope I don't sound too stupid. I'm developing an application where I intercept an SMS message and then based on various elements of that SMS I might delete it once it's been saved to the inbox. I have a receiver class that intercepts the txt message, and I am also able to delete messages from my inbox with code in the activity class using a button at the moment. The problem I have is communicating between the receiver class and the activity class where the code to delete a message resides. I tried putting that code directly into the receiver class but as I'm sure most of you already know the BroadcastReceiver class doesn't seem to support what I need to delete messages. I've been searching for an answer to this for a while, but haven't been able to find anything. Honestly I'm not sure I know enough about JAVA and Android to even recognize a solution if I saw it.

Tonight I was setting another album to offline in Spotify when it reported I ccouldn't save any more music. Bit puzzled seeing as i've got a 16gb SD card in there. Turns out Spotify is only using the internal SD card :S totally burnt out my 8gb already! I see no option in Spotify to select where to place the offline store, anyone else in the ssame 8gb boat?

One thing I can't figure out is where dose the pictures get store to.(The Actual Directory) I did download ASTRO(Great Tool) but still am unable to hunt the actual store directory that the pics gets store to. However being new i did not research too much and saw the HTC incredible is the latest and greatest. Yes it will cost me more for the phone but maybe I shoulda sprung for it. After all I will be stuck with it for the better part of 2 years. Is there that much of a difference in the 2.I am aware of the 8.0 camera and the faster processor. don't mind spending the extra $$ if its worth it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am based in Germany and publish the "Last Call Widget" on the Android Market.I have been steady improving it over time, but one group of users still complain about it not working on their devices.My widget listens for the "android.intent.action.PHONE_STATE" intent, and then sets an alarm to update the last call UI in 20 seconds, then 60 seconds, then 5 minutes, 1 hour, etc.This works reliably on all my test devices, even with aggressive task killers (try it yourself). Unfortunately I have a cluster of users with Motorola Droids on the Verizon network who complain that the UI does not automatically update. I believe Verizon is a CDMA network (we have GSM here in Europe), though the Android API docs don't specify any implementation differences.This could also be a driver issue on the Motorola Droid (we have GSM Motorola Milestones in Europe).
