View 1 Replies View RelatedWell looks like the Xperia x10 supprots a T9 keyboard like a normal mobile phone except Sony ericson has decided to hide it. What you do is say go to start text message select the input box hold finger down on it and it will say imput method. Select chinese keyboard. When you got to type hold the EN button with the tool on it it will come up with menu. Select both portrait keyboard and Landscape keyboard and select 12 Key Phonepad. And whalla you have T9 keyboard on your phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedA few months ago Google sent top market developers a feww phone (Droid or Nexus).I was one of them and received a Droid.I just now called in to activate the Droid on my Verizon account and was told that it is not activated.They said that the ESN number is tied to a business account and currently active.Verizon said the only thing I can do is to contact Google, who sent me the phone, and work it out with them.The paperwork with the phone came with no numbers or email addresses.I have tried calling the Nexus support line, they could not direct me anywhere. I have tried emailing the automated robots that sent me emails about the phone.Is there anyone at Google that I can contact that would be able to help with this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs Google Latitude available in the UK or not, because it doesn't seem to be working for me? I have received the RC9 update for G1 and have Google Maps 3.0. Is there an a Google Latitude application that I should have or do I access everything through Google Maps? When I go the www.google.com/latitude on my G1, it offers me the option of "launching" Latitude but it just takes me to Google Maps. From there, I cannot see the locations of my Google "friends" (who have agreed to show location), neither does my own location show up on the Latitude homepage on the web (I have settings turned to "detect my location automatically").
View 13 Replies View RelatedI use Google hosted apps with my own domain for e-mail, calendar, chat, etc. and I use the e-mail address from that with my main Google account as well. So, both my Google account and hosted apps account use the same address. I had no problem setting up my account on my phone when I got it Friday, but I've been running into a few issues. First off, every time I try to buy an app in the Market, it asks me to set up a Google account to associate it with, even though I already have. Also, when I try to use Google Listen, it asks the same thing. Is there a way around this, or will I have to create a separate Google/GMail account?

I wanted to put the google navigator icon (the blue arrow) on her home screen but could not find it anywhere in her apps. I did find the google navigation (map icon) app and set that up for her. So, my questions are: What is the difference between the two? How come I couldn't find the navigator app on her phone (on mine, it's under "programs")?

However, I would like it if the user could somehow save this value to a Google Spreadsheet.My problem is, I have no idea how to authenticate with Google. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've never understood the appeal of Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. Google Buzz caught my interest only because it appears in things I already use on my Droid - Google Maps and Google Reader (via the browser). In Google Reader I can clearly see who I'm logged in as - the name appears at the bottom of the screen; it's my Google Account. I assume this works via a cookie in the browser.The only account I have setup on my phone itself is my Google Apps account, and the email address for this account is different than that of my Google Account.While out sledding with my kids today, I felt the urge to buzz, and attach a picture. I couldn't see how to do that through the browser interface, so I opened Google Maps. It appears that I can post to Buzz in Google Maps, and even attach a picture. The only problem is that I can't see any buzz other than my own via Google Maps, but I can see more buzz via the browser, but none of what I posted.I think somehow Google Maps is using my Google Apps account for Buzz, but it's not actually working. Anyone have a clue as to what's going on here?

I currently use an Apps account and a regular account both with a myname@mydomain.com login. Once I got the hang of which services used apps vs, regular vs. both (and how to tell which one I was using for what), this seems to work OK on the desktop. But on Android certain services like Checkout seem to only work with @gmail.com accounts. I wonder if this change will make things more or less confusing on Android.

I have a Google Calendar account that I log into with my yahoo email address. On this calendar I also can view my calendars of other family members.The problem I am having is that I had to create a google account when I bought the phone. However, I can't seem to get my non-google calendar to show up on the phone.I have tried using my new google account to "friend" my non-google calendar account but it's still not showing up.

I'm not sure who the attorneys for Verizon are, but Google must have done some deft negotiations to be able to pull this off. They just shafted Motorala, Verizon - and us - in the butt. I'm pretty sure, post Christmas, Droid updates and fixes will become non-existent as Google focuses on their own offering. Google is indeed Microsoft with a crayola logo.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the latest version of Google Maps on JB 4.2.2 [Nexus 4]..I noticed that I cannot edit the names of my locations in "My Places" in the phone app. So I used Google Bookmarks (google.com/bookmarks) from my PC to edit/rename My Places. However, the names do not sync or carry through to the Google Maps app on the phone. The names in the app are still the generic names, coordinates or street names.
Is there any way to change the names of My Places and get them to sync with the phone app? Really baffling!
I have searched around for an answer to these two issues, but haven't been able to find anything. After doing the manual upgrade to 2.1 OTA, most everything is fine. However, Google Voice and Google Listen are having issues. Google Voice is giving me a Force Close message every time I receive a text message in Hand cent SMS (to my non-GV number). I don't actually use GV on my voice all that often. Google Listen seems to have lost all trace of any of my pod casts, including new ones that have come in since the update. Every episode on every pod cast has, just under the title: "Error (sd card/com.goggle.android.apps.listen/downloads/e55bee71)" The string of letters and numbers on each one is different. I used Astor File Manager to look in this folder and each of those files is not there. Some of these folders were downloaded a month ago (I'm a little slow in getting to some pod casts) and some I have listened to already pre update but still getting the error now. Some that I have listened to are not giving the error. And any that were downloaded after the update are giving the error.
View 7 Replies View Relatedjust trying out Google Play Music today. I'm confused though as I have around 10000 music files sitting in a folder on Google drive. I can't see an option to ask Google Play Music to look into Google Drive and upload the music from there. I have connected my Google play music app on my nexus 7 to my Google account' but nothing seems to happen. Surely Google is able to connect two parts of its cloud together and I don't have to re upload everything?
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecent switcher to Android and owner of brand new Galaxy S4 here. I have two separate Gmail accounts, one for work and one for home. Each has its own Google Calendar. Both accounts are linked to my phone.
However, I want separate apps on my GS4 to handle each Google calendar. My phone came with S Planner and I have added Google Calendar App (GCA) from the Play store.
On S Planner I choose to display the home account calendar - no problems so far. I then switch to GCA and choose to display the work account calendar. Great. However, and this is my problem, these apps now seem to be 'linked', such that when I then go back into S Planner from GCA it is now displaying the work account calendar instead of the home calendar.
In other words, changes in one app seem to be mirrored in the other app. Is there any way around this, so that each app only displays one account calendar?
Would it be possible to add a line of code to the Google Hangouts app on Android to receive forwarded Google Voice calls as it does on the iOS app?
There's been apps like Groove IP that are already able to provide this feature. I'd just like to have this functionality without having to install any 3rd party apps that always have to be running in the background. Google Hangouts is already the primary sms app for Android & so it is already able to receive texts, mms, along with video and voice chats. Thus, it should be somewhat possible to receive call forwarding from Google voice.
Just installed the new Google Search. But i dont have any options to turn on cards, like TV shows, local transport etc. Do these appear over time? I only have 4 things in "Everything else" but i have seen people have like 20+

Since the main feature I am interested in (for now) is the visual voice mail, I was thinking of getting the option without the GV number and therefore, keeping my cell phone number. I have several questions:
1. Does this work well with the Captivate phone?
2. Is there any delay in getting the voice mails by going through GV?
3. Does this eat into my data plan at all? Currently, I am only on the 200 mb plan per month.
4. If I try to get text messages through GV, would that not use up my data plan and instead come through my Internet connection ( which could at times be free if I am in a WiFi zone)?
I go there and goto buy an app and it asks me to log in to google. No problem, except I log into the account already joined to the device and it just keeps going back and saying "add google account". Yes, tht account is setup on google checkout.
