Android :: GPS Error On Samsung Android Devices?

I will like to know whether there is any problem getting location information in Samsung devices. The location fetching code works properly in all the devices except Samsung devices.From whatever I have searched over the net it seems there is some problem with Samsung devices giving GPS fix. Is there any workaround for there? The application is working properly in Nexus one, HTC devices and Motorola Devices. But Samsung devices gives problem.

This error is driving me partially insane, it only surfaces on motorola droid / milestone devices, it works flawlessly on the hero and g1. Not got a droid to test it on so have to go on the crash reports in the android market. If you can shed any light onto this matter, I have gone through every db open and made sure it was closed.

UPDATE Using the manual method I got to step 18 of copy and paste of the commands. But now I got the "read error (out of memory)" message while pusing the "flash_image recovery recovery-RA-heroc-v1.5.2.img" file.

We acquired a Samsung Moment today, and find that it's 3D performance is very poor compared to the HTC and Motorola devices. I've tried all the tricks I know (color depths, rendering options), but can't get much out of it. Rotating a single textured quad is jerky. I understand that the Galaxy was missing a software component, and that once a surrogate was added, the 3D performance was acceptable. Does anybody have the real low-down on this issue? Specifically: * Do others also find the Moment to be a poor 3D performer? * Is there any word about Samsung fixing this? * Am I missing something obvious?

I am developing my am on mac (10.5.8), on eclipse and SDK 1.6 and a Vodafone HTC Magic Everything was working ok up to a few days ago. I can not see my device on adb devices. I also got a Sony Xperia and I can not see it on the list either. I upgraded the phone software (the HTC) to 1.6 a few days ago. Maybe that is what caused the change, but I could not be sure.

My app got rejected from Samsung's app store because it didn't pause on "Hold mode". Familiar with Samsung devices know what this is? Is this a programmatically implemented feature or some special hardware event I have to capture?

Galaxy S f/w 2.1. It doesn't find either of my bluetooth devices - headset and handsfree. My old phone worked fine on both of them.
I enable Bluetooth. The icon goes nice and green. The blue squiggly thing appears in the top bar.
I activate my VisorBlade hands-free device. It beeps and the right lights come on. But no glimmer of recognition from the Galaxy. I go to Settings > Wireless and Network > Bluetooth > Scan Devices. Nothing found.
I switch on my Plantronics Voyager 520 and it beeps and the right lights come on. Phone remains nonchalently aloof. Scan for devices. Nothing doing.
But. My PC finds the phone when I do the Make Device Visible thing.

I had no luck with connecting to my Galaxy using adb under Linux. Has anyone manage to do that? There is an unresolved issue (issue 4635) on code.google.com, which states that adb won't connect to non-HTC devices under Linux (?). From my experience, that is certainly true for Galaxy. Please tell me that I'm wrong. Debugging is on, and lsusb outputs.

I've looked everywhere and tried every method I've come across including, reinstalling kies, removing upperfilters in regedit, updating wmp, reinstalling drivers. Nothing seems to work.
When I try to reinstall the samsung drivers it comes up with access denied. I've got a galaxy s4 mini and tab 2. Same thing happens to both.

I have a Note 10.1 and Note 8 both with AllShare Cast, I have a few other Android devices like an original Note an Tab 2, how to successfully use AllShare Cast on a device that doesn't have it installed in a shipping device. It's it as easy as copying an .apk file? Or is there some hardware feature required to run the app?

I was trying to get calkulins DE03 on my moment tonight, and since I've put dd03/dd10 on, I thought it would be easy but I obviously messed up something. i have the new 2.1 rom flasher, i have joeykrims 2.1.3, those dont seem to be the issue. the issue is now when I place the phone in download mode, I no longer get a data connection. I just get something called m900 under the Other Device category in Device Manager. i have no idea what driver I need to make this happen, and I certainly dont remember this from flashing it the previous two time. I tried to install the drivers from the Technica YT video, but that didnt seem to solve anything. when the phone is in Normal Mode, I can mount and do all sorts of things via USB, so clearly, this is a Download Mode driver issue.

Using appbrain on my PC seems to work fine when I'm not logged in. When I do log in and try to click on an app I get this error message:
"Error: Server Error The server encountered an error and could not complete your request. If the problem persists, please report your problem and mention this error message and the query that caused it."
Anyone else have this issue when using Appbrain on their pc?
Well, It looks like I solved the problem. I just deleted my account and created it again and it's fixed (for now).

A few minutes ago I have updated my Samsung Galaxy with the "New PC Studio" for Germany (not Android 1.6!!!). After that, my mobile restarted and now the whole system isnīt working. There always appers an error message that process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Normaly( when I bought this phone ) I was able to tap to Wait, but now there is no way to do it. Now I can only tap to close but then it cuttes all my conections. This wouldnīt be the problem if it appeared only one time, but THE ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS EVERY 5 SECONDS.

A few days ago out of no where all the apps started auto closing as soon as i opened them and then both the menu and back touch buttons lit up and the screen went black. I held the power down till it rebooted only to get and error with com.android.calendar even tho I never use the app. When it finish's booting none of my installed apps are showing. The first time it happened with com.android.app and I did a full wipe and factory reset and just reinstalled everything.
Ideally I don't want to system reset to factory settings again and lose all my files and notes that i copied back on to the phone 2days ago. Please note I have tried clearing the data for the calendar app in settings -> apps and i cleared the calendar back up. My problem is that none of my installed apps are showing. (Update) I also cant reinstall or update apps due to a Installation error - Insufficient storage. But there's room on both SD cards. I also set 850mb for apps when i did the one click lag fix and i don't have 850mb of apps installed.
(Update 2) I did a factory reset again this time i didn't format the internal and external SD cards. (It works like new again) Thus I got to keep all my personal files and ring tones ect. The only thing that was deleted that I didn't back up is my Notes. This leads me to my new question whats best for backing up apps on a rooted SGS (bell Vibrant)?

Everytime I'm using the default android browser and aptoide, it pops an error "com.google.process.gapps terminated". Is there any way I can solve this? it's quite annoying... I've only noticed it in this two apps...

The error "error parsing XML: unbound prefix" shows up on my main layout: main.xml when I first open Eclipse. To make the error go away, all I have to do is make a modification to the file, then undo it, then hit save (have to make a change in order to be able to save file and thus trigger the new syntax check).
My environment is:
Fedora Eclipse Platform
Version: 3.4.2
Based on build id: 20090211-1700
My target is Android API level 5.
The first time I saw the error I spent a long time trying to track down "the problem" but later realized there isn't really a problem, it's just a phantom error.

Eclipse is showing an error (little red "x" next to my project name), but there is no error shown in any files meaning there is no corresponding "x" next to any file...nothing. I have an application in the Market called Coverage Mapper.
In my Market account, it's setup as follows: Free Copy Protection off Available in Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, United States

Two people have told me they can't see it in the Market. One is using an unknown device on WIND Mobile (Canada). The other is using a Motorola DEXT (Android 1.5, GSM-based, has a GPS) on Bell (Canada).
Any idea why they can't see it? Would I be better off just opening it up to all countries?
I have a feeling like it might have to do with the uses-feature elements in my manifest, but even after reading all the documentation, I'm still not sure about it.
