Android :: Enable SVG Support When Building Webkit
Oct 15, 2009how to enable SVG support when building Webkit for Android? I saw an earlier thread from back in March about SVG being slow for the UI of apps, but I'd like to experiment with web content containing SVG, DOM manipulations, etc to see what the speed is like. Is it just a matter of turning on the compile flags for SVG support in Webkit or would there be a significant porting task?

Apr 27, 2014I have a galaxy s3 mini running cm11. It does not support exposure lock ( isAutoExposureLockSupported returns false). Is there any way to enable exposure lock and also white balance lock as it seems to be a software limitation. I have searched around and cannot find where the file that contains these parameters about exposure, focus, white balance, etc. Could I change the isAutoExposureLockSupported=true to achieve exposure lock. The camera also seems to not support many focus modes which have been common to all lower end phones I have owned, and also exposure lock was supported on these too.

Jun 20, 2013I found disabling javascript on my dolphin web browser make navigation really really fast almost 3 times faster and use a lot less data to charge a web and battery last longer...
The thing is most of the website i browse during the day i don't really need javascript plus if i use roaming i can browse a lot of more with my restricted data plan but some times for certain site i really need javascript or they don't even work or work really bad.
I tought would be really useful a shortcut wich enable/disable javascript on demand with just one click instead of going in setting every time.Do you think is possible trought a bookmarklet enable or disable js?Do you know other browsers at the same level of dolphin with this feature?

I personally own an Android based phone running 2.1, but I can't seem to get the HTML 5 tag to work. Even when I can trigger the browser to playback the video it just throws a notification error that it can't.Are there guidelines to producing Android/HTML 5 compatible videos? Is it truly supported?

Apr 29, 2010I've been reading these forums for a while deciding to trade in my old dumbphone LG VX8300 on an Incredible. As a software engineer, I do lots of study before I commit. So yesterday when I get my new Incredible, I'm shocked to find out that the browser doesn't support animated GIFs! I don't care about the ones with smiley faces poking another smiley face in the eye with a stick, but most of the weather apps use animated GIFs to simulate live radar. That is one of my big uses on the old VX8300 (I do lots of motorcycle riding in the summer and want to know which way the rain is heading)The Weather Channel, AccuWeather, etc. all think they have moving radar images but none of them work. I did find RadarNow in the app store but that wasn't sufficient. I eventually found that WeatherBug Elite ($1.99) has moving radar images (they must use a different technique). I finally found a discussion over at the Android developers list of known issues Issues - android - Project Hosting on Google Code that discussed the issue. The developer has made a change for Froyo for large memory phones like the Incredible to enable animated GIFs. There is a mention of this over in the Motorola Droid forum, but with all the new folks jumping on the Incredible, I thought it might get better visibility here. So here's one thing that Droid doesn't. that the iPhone (and my ancient dumbphone, and Blackberry, and Palm, etc.) does.I just thought I'd share my experience so others can find it later.

android.telephony.gsm.SmsMessage (deprecated for 1.6 and above)
android.telephony.SmsMessage (the new class for 1.6 and up)
I want to target 1.5 and yet have the newer class (android.telephony.SmsMessage) run on devices with 1.6 or higher. How do I do this?
