Just switching to the Eris Droid phone and like it for the most part...what I don't like is it's email client. The GMail one works nicely, however, the Mail that comes on the phone doesn't allow you to select multiple messages and delete them..like outlook or the versamail client on a Palm device.

Using the stock email app, how can I select multiple messages at once to mark as read? I haven't found a way to select messages of any kind in a list in a highlight many or select all kind of way with this touch screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from a five year old phone, so apologies in advance. The geeks at Best Buy set up my email for me which works fine (after multiple trips back to the store). Except that I can't figure out how to do a couple of things. 1. Is there a way to select and delete multiple emails on the phone and 2. How do I get rid of all my spam mail that comes in on the laptop (and gets filtered out there). Do I have to set up some kind of email push program so that the email comes in from my computer (already filtered) instead of from the server? You can see my learning curve is steep.........

I had no trouble setting up four mailboxes, and am sending and receiving mail seamlessly.There is one bizarre thing: if I read a message on my phone, the IMAP client sets the flag on the server as 'read', but if I delete the message on the Droid it is left on the server (and all my other IMAP clients.) Has anyone noticed this? I can't find a setting that would effect this behavior.I update my mail every 15 minutes, but the problem persists even after a manual refresh.

I have two exchange accounts configured in the EMAIL application. When I view the unified inbox and compose a new email, I am unable to select the non-default FROM address (clicking the FROM address does nothing). In order to send an email from the non-default, I have to enter the inbox for that account THEN compose a new email - requires several more clicks than necessary.
I have asked several friends and some say they do have this option - however they are all on carrier customized roms.
For some reason lately if I delete or show a email as read it doesn't sync that to my online gmail. There has been times when it shows 4 unread emails on the phone (even though everything is read) and when I log into gmail it shows the 4 unread emails even if it was ones I deleted. I tried clearing data from settings>Applications>manage applications>gmail. I have tried refreshing it and manually syncing it and it

I have been moving pictures from one folder to another, but I can only move one at a time. Is there a way to select multiple picture files and move them to another folder (like "Select All" with Windows)? This is the sequence I've been following: Use the Edit Icon in the Astro taskbar, select Move, then going to the directory folder I want to move them, and hit Paste. Moving one file at a time is taking for ever.

Refreshing the stories just keeps adding them on, but it appears you have to erase them manually, which seems pretty bad given there are over 200 stories and growing on mine right now. I need help finding the right email app.The default one is horrible. The problem I am having is that it doesn't differentiate new emails from old. Every time I open the inbox in any of my email accounts, it always shows all emails as new. I don't know which one's I read or not. It's not bad if it takes me directly to the email, but when I have emails for multiple inboxes, I don't know which ones have the new email. I called tmobile tech support and was told that unless I delete the read emails from the server, the phone will keep reloading them as new. On my old phone, the messages I read where marked as read and stayed that way. When I got a new email, it was clear which one it was because it was highlighted.
Also, I've just switched to the g1 from a business phone, so I'm really new to this still. The couple things that I would like to figure out how to do is, first, I would like to know how I can search my contacts both by name or business. I've transfered the contact info from outlook to the g1 and so I have both name and business information. However, when I search using the keyboard, I can only search by name. If I put in the name of the company, it doesn't show up. Also, is it possible to have both shown. On my old phone when searched for either the person name or business name, the result showed both. For example, if I searched for lauren or Unico, it would show up as Lauren with Unico below it. Also, this way if I have more than one lauren, I can distinguish between them without having to click through each one.
Secondly, is it possible to set up "speed dial" function. Basically, if I pull up the dialer and press 2 for like 2 seconds it will. Third, I used to have my phone setup that I would have what ever my next appointment was, it would show on the home screen. Is that possible with this phone. Is it possible to allocate certain space on the home screen to preview upcoming appointments.
I need some serious help locating a sms app to transfer text messages from my phone to email or to my SD card. I mean both text and pictures. I have a weakness for saving text messages and have over 7500 for one person. This causes my phone to force close, freeze and texting now takes over 15 minutes to text people.

I just can't figure out how to add multiple email accounts under the Email app. Under email settings I see where it says default mail account and it shows both of my account, but the front screen doesn't show both accounts?

View 2 Replies View RelatedNow before I get flood of 'get handcent' and ' get chompsms' responses, I'm letting you all know that I have used both, and I have found both either don't show or don't save pic messages. I'm a promoter so I need to use pic messages, so don't mind the stock messenger since its the only one that works right with pic messaging. The only problem I have with it is that I can't select multiple contact from my list to text at the same time. How is this not a stock feature? If it did that, I would delete the other messenger apps and save very valuable space on my phone.
