I have added a MapView element in my android project. The project is not showing any error, but when i run the application on my emulator (Google API 2.2), the map isn't visible. Instead only the grid lines are seen. The DDMS is giving me "java.net.UnknownHostException: android.clients.google.com" exception. I have already added INTERNET permission in my application.

When i ran my old application in 1.6 i noticed that the progress bar was not showing up on the screen.When i analyzed it further i found the issue.The progress bar is getting activated but its not visible since my background color is also white.When i changed the background color i was able to see the progress bar.Is there no other way to make the progress bar visible other than changing the background color..Shouldn't the progress bar be visible under all background colors??

I made an icon and saved it in res/drawable directory as icon.png and edited the line code...
But on restarting the emulator, the icon doesn't get displayed. There are no other icon.png files in the project.code...
Recently i upgraded from android 1.5 to 2.2..

I just woke up and the bottom half of my X's screen is black/grey with green lines! This is the FIRST issue i have had with this phone. Picture is from the only other camera in the house, my crappy webcam, so its hard to really see. Anyone else had this? Did verizon help (especially if you bought it from their site) what should i bring to the store to get it replaced?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOne of the best features IMO of Home++ was not having the task bar visible at top of screen. I really liked just having the scrolling toolbar at bottom. Recently the task bar at top has shown back up. Anyone else experiencing this? Was this part of a recent update that I didn't pay attention to until just now?
I still really like Home++, even with that bar, just prefer not to have it.

Well to start things off, I had my iPod touch 1st gen. stolen out of my car, and finding out that the cable I use to play music over my Alpine headunit will not work with my newly acquired iPod touch 2nd gen. has prompted me to look into other ways to have all my music with me in my car as well as be able to play it over my stereo.I found this lovely little A2DP receiver online very cheap:All in all, this has cost me less than an iPod cable that would work with the newer iPod I have, and makes everything much simpler, reducing the number of devices I carry. Checkout gSyncit.Yes, it's $15. But for that price, you get an integrated solution to Microsoft Outlook that will sync your contacts and calendar to you gmail account. So even if you don't have a gmail account for your email...setup a dummy account and set gSyncit to sync your contacts/calendar to it. Then just setup your Android device to sync with the same account. In the end, you basically end up with a free push system that will always keep your desktop and Android device wirelessly synced.There are several other free sync solutions out there...but I've found most of them to be rather abysmal in their consistency and usability. In addition, gSyncit will sync contact pictures.
View 37 Replies View RelatedAnyone else have this problem? about 1 out of 4 calls the people on the other end (whether they call me or i call them) can hear me but i can't hear them. just happened again, though this time i tried 5 times in a row to make a call and it apparently went through but i had no audio. finally on the 6th try i could hear. also, i received a call but the phone never rung.
on an unrelated note i just had to resign into google. and a couple of forced close problems. hoping this isn't 2.1 related. though i had the audio problem before.

Well after almost one month of frustration with this phone disconnecting my call while talking.because of the screen touching my face. I finally have a solution Hurray.simple when call arrives hit the power button Once. the screen will go black and lock. and you can move all over the screen with touching etc and the call continues when you are ending the call just hit the power button again and everything goes live again on the screen to conclude the call. I was to almost ready to go back to my old phone just to be able to talk on the PHONE.

Being a long time OUTLOOK user on my Windows PC, I am use to my previous smartphone syncing these items with my phone. As of now, I see there is a google sync app, but unfortunately this doesn't work with the latest Office 2010 Public Beta. I have yet to hear of a time frame when support will be announced. So it looks like I am no solution running Outlook 2010 any syncing anything to my phone.
What are users on here doing for a desktop to droid sync for your TODO/Calendar, etc? I like Google Calendar, just don't like having to open a web browser on my pc to access my calendar.
I have noticed that the green 'online' status indicator in Talk doesn't update on my phone when someone signs off, it stays green for them. They show as offline on my PC but continue to show online on the Droid. If I sign out and back in to Talk on the phone it will update their status, but otherwise not. I've tried closing chat but that doesn't seem to work, I don't see anything in settings that would affect it either. Any ideas?
I'm the only one using Android, my other contacts are all using Talk online (not with a phone) if that makes a difference.

Is it possible to change the emulator's behavior to create lock files somewhere in /tmp (using some hash of image path as lock file name)? I am OK to try this myself: which repositories from https://android.git.kernel.org/ are necessary to rebuild the emulator alone, and where in the sources is the code responsible for image locks?
I need to run several emulator instances to test my application. When i try to run instances using emulator -data <path> option, the emulator crashes.
I got a MS Visual Studio window informing that emulator throws a "unhandled win32 exception".
The exception message in the debugger (MS Visual Studio 2008) is: "Unhandled exception at 0x77c4706c in emulator.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x03216848"
The emulator runs normally without "-data" option.
I am getting the following error when I try running my program in the emulator:

App is called Tasker. It should be visible in all Donut+ devices but it's only actually visible in Eclair+ devices. Tested on my G1, reported by other users (devices unknown).

It has being weeks that I published my Pashto Dictionary application. It is visible in playstore by some operations(ISPs) but not in all. When I search for my application at home; I cant find it but I can find it when searching at office. In both cases; I use my Laptop without plugging my device. (I search in play.google.com)

If I make even a simple change to the layout, it takes about 30 seconds by time I run it in Eclipse and Android "boots", and I can unlock the emulator to run the application. Is there any way to shorten this time when making changes, or is it something I just have to deal with?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the most recent version of Android for linux (android-sdk_r05-linux_86.tgz). I was trying to use the the Android Ant task(s) for packaging, building, and deploying my code. I should mention that I'm running AMD64, but have the 32-bit libraries installed. The Android Ant tasks are all broken.
First, the start-emulator task never gets the emulator running. It does get past starting adb, but then just sits there.
Second, the SDK is missing the aapt binary in the tools directory. So, the example notepad sample application will not even package correctly.
I have all the dependencies configured for Android. I can run it from the command line just fine.I assume the Ant code is out of sync with the recent SDK updates. Can anyone shed some light on this problem? At this point, I'm considering writing my own Python scripts to interact with the Android SDK. Ugh.
I have an "Other Calendar" (a business partner's Google Cal) that shows up perfectly on Google Calendar but is not listed as a choice in Droid Cal. What is strange, though, is that it was visible up until recently. I was able to toggle it on and off on by Droid Calendar just fine. Now it's gone. Yet the calendar has not gone away and is still active in Google Calendars. I need that calendar!
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy eclipse galileo was working fine till morning; when i checked for updates for it and also updated the ADT then it asked to restart eclipse. Now i cant see any kind of Android options/menu in eclipse. But i can see ADT in installed software. Even if i open my old projects in the workspace, eclipse is unable to recognize any of the Android classes.
