View 2 RepliesIs there a way to alter the wpa_supplicant on an non rooted G1 with the actual firmware RC33 which is installed on the german devices, I will need to have access to WPA2 Enterprise Networks with my G1 , and i actually could not get root access with the current release of Android on the Phone. So my question is , is it possible to write a Programm which can build in the possibility to connect to WPA2 Enterpise networks on a G1 without root access, and when there is one how could this be done?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if Android 2.1 (on an HTC Desire) is capable of WPA2 Enterprise? I called HTC and they told me there was no support - that it wasn't a limitation of the phone, but that Google doesn't offer support for it yet - which seems to me rather ridiculous (My school will only let me use their network on a WPA2 Enterprise network). Does anyone know of any work around? Also, when is Google set to release a firmware update providing native support for WPA Enterprise?

My school uses this, and I can't connect.I bought my Galaxy without a data plan because I thought I could be able to connect at school and at home, but it doesn't work with WPA2 Enterprise.I heard of an app, Wifi Helper I believe, but you need to have your phone rooted, something which I don't really want to do for various reasons.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have got a few questions about my Galaxy. More infomation about my version below.
Firmware version: 1.5
Model number: Galaxy

My university WiFi uses WPA2 Enterprise for security and we authenticate using the following settings:
EAP Method: PEAP
Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
CA Certificate: Thawte Premium CA
and identity and password being our student credentials.
I've copied that from an old unanswered thread because I have a similar issue.
How do I disable Credential Storage so I don't have to re-enter the password every time I'm back on campus. Since I'm back and forth multiple times each day, I end up having to re-enter it constantly. On my home network I used WEP, and the HTC Inspire I use connect automatically.
I'd like to be able to connect automatically to the university network as well.
When my router is set to WPA the Droidx connects and stays connected. But when I change to WPA2 it keeps connecting and disconnecting every few seconds. This leaves me with a choice of less security for my entire network, or no wifi for the Droidx. I have seen this problem mentioned on the Motorola support page, but I have not heard of any resolution. Does anyone have a fix for this? I am using the new Froyo 2.2 OTA update.
View 14 Replies View RelatedEver since flashing the 2.1 leaks (V1 and then V2), I have not been able to connect to my university's WPA2-enterprise wireless network. After I enter my login info (the network uses PEAP with MSCHAPv2, so it doesn't need any certificates), the phone connects as expected and gets a valid IP address, verifiable with netcfg. Before any traffic is allowed to pass to the outside world, however, the device connecting has to go to an authentication page in a browser. When I attempt to go to that page, I get an error titled "Data Connectivity Problem" that states "A secure connection could not be established" which only presents an option to acknowledge the error.
Since I can't load that authentication page, the network is entirely unusable. I did not encounter this problem with 1.5, but since I'm running the V2 leak, reverting is not an option.Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? I can't identify if the problem is in the actual link not being established properly (seems unlikely, as the phone is given an IP address, but perhaps the PEAP layer is having some sort of issue?) or if it has to do with the SSL certificates used for the network authentication page (they're signed, but I'm fairly certain that the name if the site they're signed for is not the name that they've given the new auth server).
About Donut and Eclair as follows. When are Donut and Eclair released? What is the main features of Donut and Eclair?

View 2 Replies View RelatedApp is called Tasker. It should be visible in all Donut+ devices but it's only actually visible in Eclair+ devices. Tested on my G1, reported by other users (devices unknown).
Manifest:
<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4" android:targetSdkVersion="4" />
A dump from the compiled apk confirms that.
Here's the top of my Ant output:
Buildfile: build.xml [setup] Android SDK Tools Revision 6 [setup] Project Target: Android 1.6 [setup] API level: 4 [setup] Importing rules file: platforms/android-1.6/ant/ ant_rules_r2.xml
Copy protect is set to off.
And the app works fine when installed on a Donut device outside the market.
I noticed that appbrain also reports it as 2.0 and higher: http://www.appbrain.com/app/net.dinglisch.android.taskerm
Can you please tell me how can I get the source code of donut branch?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm getting reports from users about force closes in my app after the donut OTA. One of them was kind enough to send me a logcat which included these two gems (right after he installed it from market):
10-02 15:56:35.708 D/PackageManager(71): New package installed in / data/app/com.billnapier.android.livebookmarks.apk 10-02 15:56:35.708 W/PackageManager( 71): Unknown permission com.android.browser.permission.READ_HISTORY_BOOKMARKS in package com.billnapier.android.livebookmarks 10-02 15:56:35.708 W/PackageManager( 71): Unknown permission android.permission.READ_HISTORY_BOOKMARKS in package com.billnapier.android.livebookmarks
The second one makes sense, since that name has gone away. But I can't figure out why the first one would show up, since that permission should exist on the phone. anybody got any clues? I can't reproduce this on my phone, so it's kinda hard to debug.
Does anyone know how to change a build from donut back down to cupcake? I tried changing the release target minsdkversion back to 3 but it still would only launch in the donut rather than cupcake emulators and showed the Android 1.6 rather than Android 1.5.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Donut VoiceDialer is far from ideal for in-car use because it requires users to confirm their selection by tapping on the screen. My idea is to enhance it so that it can be hands-free from start to finish.I was looking at VoiceDialerActivity.java and the most interesting part is the function onRecognitionSuccess(), which starts at line 383.We could modify it so that if there is more than one item, it reads the items out loud and then does another recognition cycle among those items.

I spent a month stocking my SugarSync folder full of files and entertainment for my big vacation. On day one of my trip the Donut 1.6 update came through and now SugarSync force closes constantly, haven't been able to use it since. I've been emailing the developers and they refuse to see a connection (despite several comments in the Market of other users blaming 1.6). Is there a chance it isn't 1.6 and how can I fix this? I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times with no improvement. It was an awesome app when it worked, I'll be damn sorry to have to delete it.

One of my user reported to me the same problem, he was sure it's my appwidget's problem, because he erase all application and install one by one to test which application cause the error, he found after he installed my appwidget, the error occurred again.
