Android :: Connect To PC Software

If I am using some style of connect to pc software ex. PhonemyPc does it use my home internet connection's ip address when going to websites?
I suppose what I am asking is if there is any difference between my being in front of my computer using the internet and using my home computers internet via PhonemyPC? Will the websites I visit see the same ip address?

I've experienced quite a lot of problems with the WiFi after updating the Andriod. Everytime I try to connect to my home-network i get that it failed to connect.
The phone didn't have any problems with this before the update.
Anyone had the same kind of problem, or anyone that has a smart fix for it?

Iam connecting 3G phone for my Android device for internet connection and another Socket(SPP) for CAN signal receiving.Whenever I manually connect to the Bluetooth tethering via 3G phone, i can browse internet perfectly and speed is good.Whenever programmatically connect to the 3G connection, i couldn't browse internet.i checked in shell and observing that in my mobile 'device is connected' message displayed and E symbol appears. No problem for me to connect Socket. But I got problem to use 3G phone. For this iam using APN/DUN mode.I checked both but no use.Is there any performance issue here or anything wrong to connect different devices by using Bluetooth API in android. Why this happends while connecting Mobile programmatically.

I have the HTC Droid Eris. Before the 2.1 update, I just had Facebook sync, but afterwards, it was synced with Facebook for HTC Sense. My problem is that it won't let me sync with just Facebook.I still want my contacts to sync with my phone, because I like the facebook pictures on there. Personally, I like Facebook sync better, because I don't like having all my Facebook contacts on my phone, because the numbers show up twice (number that I have on my phone plus the number that my friends have on Facebook). To prevent that from happening, I would rather have my phone connected to Facebook only and not Facebook for HTC Sense.I thought I could do it, but it won't let me even click on Facebook--like, nothing pops up or anything.I wasn't sure if it was my phone, so I took my dad's Eris and tried to do the same, it works fine on his phone, but I can't get mine to do sync with facebook whatsoever. Thank you very much.

Just bought an APAD Second generation. Have a problem with the mains power charger where the jack does not make a good connection in the socket. The supplier is going to change the unit when I send this one back on Monday. Lucky I bought it from an Aussie supplier here so the wait won't be long. However I have being playing around to get used to it. Managed to connect WIFI at McDonalds and try some emailing from my web account with yahoo. I was pleased with myself though I will have some questions soon on other applications. At the moment it has a 2GB MicroSD card installed in the slot. It shows up in the settings as does the Internal flash storage. However when I connect to my PC running XP and do the "mount thing" it shows on Windows Explorer as "Rock-Chips" drive, with a number of directories and files. However the Drive properties only shows the Used space (123MB) and Free space (928MB) of the drive internals, but where is the additional 2GB SD to be found? For the future when I install applications can I install them on the additional SD drive?Last question for now...An important application that I want to install is Skype. I still have the original 20MB application instal file on my PC which I used for it. Is this the installation file I can re-use on the APAD or is there a special one for the Android?

I'm currently developing a Field-Service application that stores data in the local sqlite database on an android device. At some point, usually after completing the data collection rounds, the local sqlite db is to be synchronized to a remote sql server db on the server, also i need to update some local table from sql server db.Any suggestions as to how this could be achieved or engineered as a solution? Or even better, are there alternatives to synchronizing data in such an application?

So I have got Eclipse (Galileo) setup with ADT installed. I also got the SDK installed. But when I run Eclipse I get "Failed to parse the output of 'abd version'". And if I attempt to debug an app from Eclipse I get: [2010-08-31 00:21:05 - HelloWorld] [2010-08-31 00:21:05 - HelloWorld] Android Launch! [2010-08-31 00:21:05 - HelloWorld] The connection to adb is down, and a severe error has occured. [2010-08-31 00:21:05 - HelloWorld] You must restart adb and Eclipse. [2010-08-31 00:21:05 - HelloWorld] Please ensure that adb is correctly located at 'C:android-sdk-windows oolsadb.exe' and can be executed. I was able to run adb from the command line and install the HelloWorld.apk from the bin directory to my phone. So it seems the issue is between adb and eclipse. Searching the net got me a few interesting pages, but none of the suggested changes worked for me. Any ideas would be great.

I'm trying to use connectbot on the G1 - it works great but. Can't find any way to generate a control key (ctrl-c etc). alt-sym doesn't work. Any ideas? In general the G1 is not as slick as the iphone but MUCH for useful for what I do. Re: connectbot, the 3G latency and overall font presentation is better than the Sidekick LX/2008 but I do sometimes need to generate ctrl-key sequences.

I currently run android 1.5 on a HTC magic. I'm trying to communicate from my phone to a bluetooth device that supports SPP. I can't seem to be able to connect to the device. I have tryed two ways to connect: 1- via the official 2.0 API using the backport-android to make it work on android 1.5 2- via the unofficial bluetooth api 0.3 Both method give me an error around the same connection process. ith API 2.0, I can discover devices and pair with them. Then i create a socket which seems to work, but when I use the .connect() method, I get this error in CatLog: IOException Unable to start Service Discovery. This is related to doSdp() in public class BluetoothSocket.Searching the web, it seems this error is related to a wrong UUID ... but I am using the SPP UUID properly. So, I thought the problem could be backport android, so I tried with the unofficial API from Gerdavax ( http://code.google.com/p/android-bluetooth/To connect to a device with this API you first create a socket, then you connect using the .openSocket( port number) method. The weird thing is, if I try with a new port, it connects, if I try a second time, it wont work, unless I change the port. I get a similar related error of SDP. Code...

I have a java server which run on the pc, and a client which run on the G1. Now, G1 is connected to the pc with a usb cable. I want to use socket to let them communicate with each other, as what I did in the emulator. But now G1 cannot find the server through the ip "10.0.2.2".InetAddress serverAddr = InetAddress.getByName ("10.0.2.2"); ClientSocket = new Socket(serverAddr,SERVERPORT); The ClientSocket is null. What's the IP of the pc now?

I am attempting to debug an application on a Motorola Droid but I am having some difficulty connecting to the device via USB. My development server is a Windows 7 64bit VM running in HyperV and so I cannot connect directly via USB in the guest or from the host. I installed a couple of different USB over TCP solutions but the connection appears to have issues since the adb monitor reports "devicemonitor failed to start monitoring" repeatedly. I was wondering if there is a way to connect directly from the client on the development machine to the daemon on the device using the network instead of the usb connection or possibly other viable options?

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S3. It has Android 4.0.4 (ICS). However, when i tried to connect it to my VW EOS via a USB cable, the car failed to recognise the device. It worked with my previous phone, an HTC Desire. Upon reading a wee bit, it looks like ICS drops USB Mass Storage support in favour of MTP. Is this why the connections doesn't work?

I am using a Nexus One with 2.1 SDK. I am having problems with a module in my application connecting programmatically to a network/AP.Monitoring the network,I see probe requests transmitting from the device, but I do not see an Authentication/Association request to the access point that I specify in the BSSID. Ultimately, I will perform a scan to determine valid AP BSSIDs, but for testing, I simply want to connect to a test AP which is in close proximity to my Nexus One.I have set the appropriate permissions in my manifest xml and am not seeing any negative log statements from adb.Any pointers or suggestions with using WifiManager to perform this action.

I am wondering if there is an app or a possible future one, that can connect to a school's network. Why it is more complicated (if you don't know), is that you have to connect to the wifi, then enter your student ID and password into the browser, then you can access the internet. (similar to some airports)I am able to connect with the browser, but apps that require internet won't work. Is there anyway to make an app that will keep you authenticated so that apps can use the wifi?

We just got 3G here in Small Town Vietnam. Great except now they can charge us their ridiculous Data rates 3 times faster! Thought is was bad when we had EDGE but way too expensive with 3G. I use DATA THROTTLE to keep my G1 off the data Network most of the day but I connect 4 or 5 times a day to check email and to play around. With 3G that playing around is averaging $7 usd a day! I live on $10 a day here in Vietnam and that's a big expense to me So I am looking for an Auto-Connect WiFi app that will turn on and connect when I walk by a HotSpot. But I have downloaded about 5 apps so far and although they all work when I use them when I put my phone in my pocket it turns off and will not connect. I go under settings and hit the Never Sleep button but they all go to sleep anyway..What WiFi app will Auto connect when the phone is in my pocket as I walk by different HotSpots?
