Whenever I set a photo for my lock screen, my Eris sets it but the quality of the photo always looks horrible from the original. I have tried using super high-res as well as PNGs instead of JPGs but it looks like crap when I save it. Is there anyway to make it so it doesn't downgrade the quality of my photos when I set them for my lock screen?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThought some others might be interested in doing this if they haven't already. First off, you need root access to do this, and I am not responsible for any damage you may do to your device.
1. Download any font to your SD card. Make sure it is a TrueType font (most are) but double check anyway. Check out dafont.com for a huge selection of fonts.
2. Rename this font to Clockopia. Make sure the "C" is capitalized.
3. Now, open up Root Explorer (or any other file manager with root access) and navigate to system/fonts/.
4. Long click on Clockopia.ttf and copy it.
5. Paste it on your SD Card somewhere and rename it to something like Clockopia-Original. This way you always have a backup.
6. Now, long-click and copy your new downloaded Clockopia. Don't paste it anywhere yet.
7. Navigate back to system/fonts/ and press the "Mount R/W" button.
8. Long click on Clockopia.ttf and press "Delete"
9. Paste the new Clockopia in its place.
10. On the new Clockopia.ttf, long click and press "permissions". Check all the boxes under "Read" and the user box under "Write".
So far, I love the Evo, but I am having three problems with it. And they are getting annoying. First off, some applications will randomly terminate. It started out being regular downloaded applications that would just end. Whatever, it was bearable albeit annoying. But now, sometimes important applications like "Touch Screen" (I don't think that's the exact name) are starting to terminate randomly. That made it so that I couldn't text (rebooting the phone restarted the application). Two, I seem to manage to accidentally press the screen in a random place just about once per minute when I'm holding the phone. It's getting to the point where I feel like it's starting to push random buttons when I just press the sides of the phone. I don't know, it's tough to describe. Also, there seems to be some other shortcut screen that pops up every so often. It's a small box in the middle of the screen that shows my six most recently used apps. I have no idea why it pops up, or how, but I would actually like to use it if I could figure out how to do it.
Three, lastly, it seems to lock up a lot. It just freezes, just like a computer would. It's probably done this about ten times now.So is anyone else having any problems like this? It's starting to get very annoying. Big blemishes for such an amazing phone... it makes me sad to think this has so many interfering problems.
How do I change the lock screen image?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to find it, but is there a way to change the image on the lock screen?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm just getting started with android programming, and want to see if there is a way to programmatically set the lock screen image. I've found various ways of setting the wallpaper in the API, but I can't seem to find the equivalent ways of setting the lock screen image.
I've seen various posts saying that customising the lock screen by adding widgets or bits of applications is not possible, but surely there must be a way to set the image programmatically?
I am going crazy here... I've had this thing since it launched and everything is great except I keep hitting buttons with my face during calls! I mute, sometimes end calls, start 3 way calls etc and I have no idea how to prevent it. Is there any way I can make the screen lock during phone calls or change the call screen altogether?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Droid keeps losing the setting for screen timeout. It resets to no option being selected, which means about a 5 second timeout. I have to reselect 30 seconds, etc. I can't seem to find a pattern of situation leading up to it. Started on 2.01 and continued after 2.1 upgrade. Never rooted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWell if you use widget locker, and a security lock, Froyo Forces you to: Unlock widget locker lock screen, then undo the lock screen, then enter your security code. However with Android Eclair 2.1, there is an option to turn off the screen lock. From my understanding, if you had the lock-screen disabled when you do the update, it will remain disabled after the OTA. However there is no longer any way to enable it because Google removed the option. As most people would find that bad, it should allow me to use widgetlocker, and a security lock without having to unlock the screen twice. Or of course, just use widget locker, as I have no intention of going back to the stock lock screen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedChanging the "Sprint Greeting"? Is there a way to change the "Sprint Greeting" on my lock screen? I want to put my name in there instead of the normal "Sprint". I read that you can't, then read you can if you root the phone? I also right now have horrible battery life. I get about 5-6 hours on a full charge and all I do is mostly text and a few calls during the day...that is it. Iam a noob so don't know how to root the phone if I need to do that?

View 39 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid X. I was previously employed by a company that used Exchange Server and Active Sync and I added my company email account to the Droid X. This forced me to use a 4 digit pin as required by the mail admin of the company. I no longer work for this company, and deleted the active sync account from my phone (and no longer have access to it by any means). The security settings for the PIN. When I check SETTINGS -> LOCATION & SECURITY -> CHANGE SCREEN LOCK -> CHANGE SCREEN LOCK the options, "None" and "Pattern" are grayed out and not selectable. When I look under SETTINGS -> LOCATION & SECURITY ->SELECT DEVICE ADMINISTRATORS the device administrator is listed a "Corporate Sync" and I cannot change or delete this.
