View 4 RepliesFirst off, im running HC2.1,
1.Dont you have to root to be able to upgrade to a different software type? I rooted before in stalling greek35 2.1, then upgraded to HC2.1, do i have to reroot?
2. Rooting is just, using the update.zip file you download, then using droidroothelp.apk program, mount3, update those 3 things, flash 15.0, rename, reboot ect...so basically as long as you have SU app on your phone your rooted no?
Now boot animation question
I downloaded a boot animation, connected my phone with usb debugging, used the cd command and abd push bootanimation.zip /data/local, rebooted and the boot animation didnt change..after i used the push command, it said x.xkb transfered in 1.23seconds or whatever...any suggestions?
I know there is an app that can change your phone to vibrate and do other things based on your location but i cant for the life of me find it.

Ex - At given fraction of time, native application is pointing to list of SMS (com.android.providers.telephony.databases.mmssms.db).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like to connect a HTC Desire to the PC only as debugging device. Every time I plug the cable in it searches for the HTC Sync software on the PC, and it takes a long time until finally a message appears on the phone like "no HTC Sync found, please install". After that, the phone is available to eclipse for debugging. But how can I avoid that everlasting searching process?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am developin with Eclipse on an Android device. Each time I want to install the new version of the app on the device I need to connect it, enable USB Debugging, install the app, disable USB Debugging, unplug the device (optional). I was wondering if it was safe to just unplug the device without disabling USB Debugging. After all, the device is not mounted, right? But there is the adb, talking to it. It would be much more convenient to be able to do that. Does anyone know if it is safe or unsafe?

I'm using either HttpPost or HttpURLConection.
The intent is to give the POST request to another member of the team so they can reproduce it in another platform.
I am trying to see if anyone knows if it is possible to change the update time of MyLocationOverlay (http://bit .ly /dBIVdj). I have tried subclassing MyLocationOverlay and implementing my own location manager but when that happens I do not see the overlay on the map. I would try overriding the drawMyLocation method however I don't know which canvas to provide the method (since I would be drawing onLocationChange). To summarize, I am looking to do three things in MyLocationOverlay subclass:
1. Change the location update times to whatever I want.
2. Draw the "my location" dot with the radius when the onLocationChanged() method is called.
I've thought about making my own special class with special overlay -- but I feel like there has to be a better method to get what I want out of this class.
I was wondering is there any way to set or change the default location for downloading apps to either my phone or SD card? .. My Palm centro had the option to either download to either the phone or SD card.. I was wondering if the Droid has the same option possibilities. Also Is there any way to transfer apps or programs currently stored on the phone to the SD card?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was cruising an Incredible manual online and I saw this screen about connecting the Inc to a PC. I'm new to Android but I did have an Eris for a few days to try out. On that phone I would hook it to my laptop, open the notifications bar, and choose "Mount" to be able to drag files back and forth.
In this picture, there is no "Mount" choice. How do you drag files back & forth?
Also, what is USB debugging? Do I need to select that in order to drag files back and forth?
Can downloads be changed to SD card instead of internal memory?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i was recently in the US i was given an HTC EVO VIEW. I have now taken it back with me to the UK but unsurprisingly my Google Play application is the US version. I am using the same Google Play account as i do on my Xperia Neo which is the UK version so the account isn't the problem.
I have factory reset the device in the UK and the 'Android Market' app that is preinstalled is still the US version (and so is the 'Google Play' app that it is updated into) which means that some apps are not available, some say they are not compatible due to location, and everything is in $$$.
I own a Blu Studio 5.5s and it is stuck on bootloop. I can not enable usb debugging, and recovery mode does not work for me. I accidentally deleted my "systems" file in my phone's hard drive. I went to a store, and they said I need to put a new update on my MicroSD card.
