Android :: Bluetooth Not Establishing Conenction
Aug 26, 2010
I developed a bluetooth client android application on Htc Hero and developed on windows a bluetooth server application. Server application make SDP successfully and i can connect from android application to it, but establishing connection not very easy, sometimes it connects to bluetooth server with one attempt, sometimes after making 4 or 5 attempts and occasionally i lost connection after established a connection. What is reason of that, it is a problem of android or htc hero? Because with J2me application i connect to server easily and connection continue a long time .

We are doing some research using android handset , G1 and i don not find any clear information in order to manage the connection, as i note all classes allow us for only accessing the information about a connection, i would like to ask if there is really such solution already avaliable in order to opens two connections for two different network ( 3G & Wifi ) at the same time and use them to exchange data "establishing two connection at the same time". i look in the source code of the Mms app to see how it as you recommend but no related information.

My parents just recently bought their first smartphones. They both have Samsung Moments now and think the phone looks promising, but they've already ran into their first quirk. I searched for a good halfhour to see if I could find an answer to their problem but I couldn't find anything. So without further adieu.their problem. They had older phones that used simcards. The sprint store loaded all of their contacts onto the moment and all was peachy. As soon as they went onto the market they had to establish a GMail account to be able to use the market. Once the GMail account was established all of their contacts were wiped. We can't find them anywhere. If anyone has had this problem or would possibly know how to locate the contacts it would be greatly appreciated if you could post the steps to do such a thing. Also if there is anyway to put a simcard onto a computer and transfer it to a phone they still have their cards and I could try to do that.

I was cleaning all the crap off my phone I don't use anymore and I believe I accidently removed the bluetooth software that allows it to connect to stereo bluetooth headsets. I can control the player with the headset, I can make phone calls from it, but when I try to play music there is no sound.
I was trying to reset the phone using RUU, but it reboots the phone and then says it cannot reconnect after that and the software shuts down. I can still sync with outlook, so my driver is not the issue. I am out of ideas.
Is there anyway possible to reinstall just the bluetooth portion of the rom?

This is my first android phone and im having some problems with the bluetooth. Im trying to send my contacts over bluetooth from my old sony ericsson but it doesnt seem to be going smoothly, i would say its all down to me! Basically i have got the bluetooth on for both phones, the desire is set to be discoverable and i try to send the contacts via bluetooth on the SE. I get the whole passcode and accept the file which i have done, but then it says again about accepting the file. Ive tried it a few times and i have 3 bluetooth icons at the top of my screen now which i imagine are for transferring files which need accepting. Is there anywhere i can to accept them or close them down?

I have a Fascinate. A lot of my colleges are starting to use iPad tablets to take notes in them with a stylus in lieu of paper. I have also seen pens out there that record pen strokes as you write on paper and will show it on your PC once you sync it later. I was hoping that there is a Bluetooth pen that I could connect with my Fascinate and have an application running on the phone that would record the pen strokes in the app whether I'm writing on a piece of paper, or on the desk, or where ever... I know the screen would be too small to actually write on the phone but I would think the technology exists to record pen strokes in an app. It would be nice to have one very portable device that could take notes in and have the ability to email it from the phone or sync it to my PC and print/email from there if needed. We have been moving all of our filing to PDFs to save on paper and this would just be another digital move and a way to back up all of the paper notes that we take in internal meetings, etc.

I have written a small app that puts my bluetooth in discoverable mode for a long time (G1 - API 1.6). I use that along with small program on windows to lock/unlock the computer if the phone is close by. Recently i try to port this app to my nexus one but it seems like i have to pop up the message every 300s to enable device to go to discoverable mode. does anyone know how i can suppress that?

Can Android use Bluetooth GPS Receivers in its various applications, such as MyTracks, CardioTrainer, Google Maps etc, is there an app I can install to allow this, or does the functionality have to be supported by the relevent software application (MyTracks, GoogleMaps etc) itself. If the latter, are there any navigation programs I can install which support this?

I have a widcomm example BluChat "WIDCOMM SDK RFComm Service" running on my PC with an USB dongle (BT-2400P). I would like to connect this chat from my HTC Desire. So I stared with the Java example http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/BluetoothChat/index.html. This is also using BT RFComm. If I'm using my HTC as a server it work's fine, but I would like to use my PC as a server. Then .connect() comes back with "Service Discovery Failure".
I have modified the UUID string in the Java example to match the PC-application

I'd take suggestions to both for music use (both ears) and phone use.had a jawbone-handsfree set before, but it was a victim of small size and crowded apartment. been two years, and yet to find it.

My understanding is that the GPS refresh rate for the Android phones (and most phones in general?) is 1 HZ (once a second). I read on a forum for a paid app that I use on my Hero that there's talk that 2.0 or 2.1 or possibly even just a future release will support the use of Bluetooth GPS receivers with will allow for the 5HZ GPS refresh rate or even newer standards as they come out.Has anyone else heard this or know of any more details related to this?

I have some questions about the testing of bluetooth.
I have tried the bluetooth chat and it worked pretty well on my two Andriod 2.1 based mobile phones.
However, this test can only be done only by someone who has 2 android phones and the version must be 2.1.
I assume this is a big issue because i looked into the CTS related to Bluetooth topic and it doesnt explain much about it.
The regular expectation for testing Bluetooth should be:
# Scan for other Bluetooth devices # Query the local Bluetooth adapter for paired Bluetooth devices # Establish RFCOMM channels # Connect to other devices through service discovery # Transfer data to and from other devices
In my case:
I would like to implement the application to send the file(image file, mp3, whatever...) from my Android 2.1 mobile to any device with Bluetooth module.

We are developing an Android application that uses bluetooth to connect to a board that we developed. If we try to connect to the board after the system has been off for a while, the system connects correctly and begins to stream data. The data stream will freeze momentarily, then start, then freeze, then shut off after about 6 - 8 seconds. If we try again it will repeat this process. It is almost like the Android is checking to see if it is an ok device to connect with, and decides no for some reason.
The only way we have been able to then connect again is to un-pair and then re-pair the tablet to the board. After we unpair and re-pair, the connection works well and will continue to work well until we turn the tablet off.
