General :: USB 2.0 Hub / Bluetooth - Android 4.0.3
Jun 16, 2012
I have cheap tablet with Android 4.0.3 (cpu arm cortex a8). Unfortunately I have only one host mini usb port + adapter (mini usb - usb with host usb). I'm trying to connect devices by :
hama usb 2.0 hub (bus-powered)
Unfortunately only first connected device is working properly next devices are not visible for the system. Is there any way to add drivers/software to use usb hub on android?
2nd question is that i'm trying tu run usb bluetooth v2.0 class 2.0 with BlueTerm software installed - but nothing works. Which software/drivers are compatibile with usb bluetooth v2.0? Or which usb bluetooth version I can use with BlueTerm??

I transferred some files via BT to my smartphone. I saw them come in on the phone and accepted them but I cannot see them anywhere. I downloaded Astro File Manager, but to no avail. My phone is Alcatel 995 Ultra. They are mp3 files.

I have a Galaxy Nexus, Android 4.3.
I've posted in this forum because it seems Android has bluetooth issues on many devices.
I switch bluetooth on, turn on my car, then the phone connects via bluetooth to the car's speakerphone device.
I turn off the car, the phone sees the bluetooth speakerphone losing connection all of a sudden, then if I switch bluetooth off the phone tries to switch it really off but after a fews seconds bluetooth turns on automatically.
I can't reboot the phone everytime I have to switch bluetooth off.
PS: I really don't understand what's Goolge's problem with bluetooth. Really, they can't make it work right. It worked perfectly on 4.1.x, they've broken it with 4.2 and never fixed it 100%.

Basically my Samsung Galaxy S2 gives me unlimited calls to mobiles/landlines and I want to make A LOT of calls throughout the day. I have a plantronics pro uc bluetooth headset which syncs up with my phone. I can send SMS and remote access the phone (too slow and clunky to make calls fast and simply).
What I want to be able to do is dial a number from my computer and my phone start call it. Essentially just want the phone on my computer. Paste a number in/dial it etc... click a link and the app/whatever call it.
(P.s. a remote desktop is not the solution as it is too slow - I tried that with MyMobiler. I have a skype number and can pay a small fee for unlimited landline calls but would have to pay for mobiles so this isnt a solution either).

I've just bought a great Bluetooth Speaker to use with my Nexus 4 and it works great. Because it was fairly cheap I went and got another in the hopes that I could connect both speakers to my N4 and output audio simultaneously to both speakers at the same time. I quickly discovered this isn't currently "working" or even possible.
After a lot of Googling, I found an app on the Play store that supposedly let me connect both at the same time but it doesn't output audio to both speakers (I get "static" from the second one). There are also conflicting opinions about whether this is even possible with the current Bluetooth spec although it does mention multicast support and all I could find are various workarounds that involved using a secondary bluetooth transmitter etc.
Any software/hack (root needed or otherwise) that would allow configuring audio to be streamed/output to two connected bluetooth speakers simultaneously? Others have suggested it for use with bluetooth headsets.

Does Android use a built-in EQ or limiter on their Bluetooth stack? I am running into a situation where both of my android phones, One X and Nexus One, have developed a "clipping" noise when I listen to music through the Bluetooth in my car. This same clipping doesn't happen when I listen to podcasts, only music. My assumption is that something in the framework is clipping the audio saying that it is too loud and causing this to happen.
I have also used the same Bluetooth setup my WP7 phone, an HTC Titan, and I do not hear this same noise at all. I have only heard this through my android phones which leaves me to believe that it is something based in OS level and not the Bluetooth set up itself.

I was cleaning all the crap off my phone I don't use anymore and I believe I accidently removed the bluetooth software that allows it to connect to stereo bluetooth headsets. I can control the player with the headset, I can make phone calls from it, but when I try to play music there is no sound.
I was trying to reset the phone using RUU, but it reboots the phone and then says it cannot reconnect after that and the software shuts down. I can still sync with outlook, so my driver is not the issue. I am out of ideas.
Is there anyway possible to reinstall just the bluetooth portion of the rom?

This is my first android phone and im having some problems with the bluetooth. Im trying to send my contacts over bluetooth from my old sony ericsson but it doesnt seem to be going smoothly, i would say its all down to me! Basically i have got the bluetooth on for both phones, the desire is set to be discoverable and i try to send the contacts via bluetooth on the SE. I get the whole passcode and accept the file which i have done, but then it says again about accepting the file. Ive tried it a few times and i have 3 bluetooth icons at the top of my screen now which i imagine are for transferring files which need accepting. Is there anywhere i can to accept them or close them down?

I know I can multi select and zip them and send via Bluetooth, but once you try to extract the songs from the zip file, it wants to name each file the same as you named the zip file.
I would like to be able to move many songs from one phone to another with Bluetooth.

Very surprisingly I am not able to transfer (both Send and Receive) any files through BLUETOOTH. This is such a basic function of all mobile. I have tried couple of file managers, Bluetooth Manager but not able to transfer. I have rooted the phone .

is there any app that allows you to "turn" a wired headset to a bluetooth one via android?
You might think to connect an android smartphone to a normal wired headset (such as those supplied with most phones) and to exploit its bluetooth connection to use it on pc/consoles/... Do you think that it is possible?

I've been having issues with bluetooth headset dropout during a call. Pairing is never an issue, and the bluetooth connection is solid outside of a call, but during a call the bluetooth may drop out without warning. This means that while I'm talking to someone, there is no audible noise or visual cue that the connection has dropped and has defaulted back to the phone, and thus I'm relegated to a "hello? hello?" query before I check the handset and find out the caller was asking the same thing to my pocket (which also shows the devices are never more than, say 1.5m apart maximum when this happens).
As far as the phone is concerned, it's still 'connected' to bluetooth, as indicated in the dialer, and somehow isn't aware the connection has been dropped (or is and isn't showing). I thus need to redirect the audio via the UI either to the handset or speakerphone (away from the bluetooth connection it still think it's on), wait for the reroute to register, then redirect once again to the bluetooth to reestablish the connection. Again, without any audio cues the caller magically appears again on the headset, and we play the whole dropout game all over again. Connection duration seems arbitrary, lasting anywhere from 10s to a tens of minutes (with a 2-3 minutes on average).
This isn't isolated to any particular hardware, as I have had this occur on every one of my phones (Nexus S @ Android 3.x, stock and custom; Meizu MX @ Android 3.x - 4.x AOSP, OEM stock, and custom; HTC One @ Android 4.2.x - 4.3, stock only) and across all the headsets I've tried (Plantronics Discovery 925, LG HBM-585, Motorola H790), with Android being the common denominator. Note, I have used a Plantronics Discovery 655 and the same Plantronics Discovery 925 headset on my Nokia 8800 in the yesteryears, and have NEVER had connection or dropout issues.

Is it possible to control an Android device with a Bluetooth headset? I have a friend with a Windows phone who can listen to and reply to text messages as well as initiate calls through his bluetooth headset without touching the phone. It's very very cool, and I don't know that my Android has an answer to it. I would love to be able to do this on my Android and to use Evi through my bluetooth device. I have FlexT9 from Nuance, but it seems to require that I speak into the phone's microphone, as does Evi.
I have a rooted HTC Thunderbolt running das Bamf (don't remember the version) and a Plantronics Voyager Pro headset (same headset my friend with the Windows phone uses to control his phone).

My girlfriend has a Nexus 7 and I have a Hisense Sero 7 Pro. I have one bluetooth receiver in my car and another bluetooth headset. When either tablet is conencted to either bluetooth device, pressing the call button does nothing. I have tried autovoice with tasker with no luck. Is there anyway to get these tablets to recognize when the bluetooth button on the bluetooth devices is pressed? I notice in the menu in settings for each bluetooth device that there is only the option for "use for media audio" and not "use for call audio." If this is the reason is there anyway to modify jelly bean 4.2 to add the use for call audio option?

I am writing an Application that has multiple layouts with buttons. I have set up onClickListners for the buttons. Some buttons will change the activity and bring up a new layout with new buttons, and others will send outgoing SPP strings over Bluetooth. The strings will be defined in an XML file and will not change (serial commands).I can hard code the MAC address of the Bluetooth Server and only need to send data, not receive.
I am looking for some general guidance on the direction to go as far as setting up my Bluetooth connection and outgoing transmissions. I have looked at the BluetoothChat example extensively but do not have any good resources in the case of multiple activities.
-Do I use a separate activity to manage all Bluetooth transmissions and connections and create handlers for every case where I would send a Bluetooth message?
-Should I add Bluetooth connection+transmission threads in every activity (seems like i would run into issues losing the connection when changing activities)?
-Can I use handlers that are not class specific where the BluetoothService Activity could send whatever was prompted by the active/current activity?
-Could I just hard code all strings to be sent in the BluetoothService Activity and the UI activity could prompt the BluetoothService Activity to send the requested string based on the button click?
