I would like to use my wifi on my droid at the college campus with the ability to block certain ip's. is this possible, or is it only wishful thinking?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis person has been texting me none stop for 3 days I've even involved the police who didn't even bother since its a cricket wireless # they can't trace. This person seems obsessed and at times honestly scares me. They've sent over a hundred texts in less than an hour. Pls I've tried googling but come up with year old posts that lead to nothing. Market searches lead to only bad reviews.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI need a good ad blocker. I go back and forth between Google Chrome and IE for my internet search. My biggest pet peeve is all those ads and popup videos! On my laptop I have avg internet security, malwarebytes, SAS to fight the battle of viruses, malware, spyware but I need a good adblocker. Im not tech savvy, frankly, I'm sooo afraid that I'll crash my laptop with one of my visit to a unsafe site, that it prevents me from truly enjoying the net. So, I was adviced to get the ad blocker advisor app from google or should I get an ad blocker extension? I realize I really dont know the difference.,,an app or extension? Is there one for IE too?

Anyone know of one?
One of the really cool things about Inc is that it includes web browser support video streaming. The flip side is that if you use this on sites where it's offered, you will likely get annoying ad popups! Why is it then that neither the Marketplace nor Appbrain offers any software to control this? I realize that Firefox software tweaks, which control everything from popup ads to cookies, script control, and much more, are called addons but with Android the browser would be Google Chrome. Is this the problem, or can I get controls like this in Google-world too, specifically for Android?
Suppose I changed the default browser to Firefox, would I be able to use most of it's addons (I already know most of them work in Linux for PCs, but Android hasn't quite impressed me so far with much PC-like tweakability). How would I go about doing this, anyway?
Currently I use NQ mobile call blocker. When I receive a call from the blocked numbers, this app respond to the caller by allowing two or three ringing and after that cancel that call. I need to know are there any app that can use zero ringing? Which means no ringing respond to caller, instantly cancel call.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to forward all calls to my number on to the new predefined number automatically. Is it possible to forward incoming call? Probably it is possible for Froyo at least. I found application called Easy Call Forwarding. But many people reckon it dosen't work actually. We can notice forwarded call by onCallForwardingIndicatorChanged() from PhoneStateListener but I have no idea how to set forwarding mode.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've experienced two problems with Google Voice that are causing me to get charged minutes I wouldn't usually get charged. If I can't solve them, I'll have to go back to using my Verizon number. First, let me say that I'm using a new Google Voice number that isn't Verizon cell phone number or any other preexisting number. Second, my girlfriend is on my family plan, but she doesn't have GV yet. We're using the 700-minute plan, so we don't have a friends circle.
Problem 1: When I call my girlfriend's Verizon wireless phone using the GV on my Verizon phone, I get charged, and when she calls my GV number on my Verizon Wireless phone from her Verizon wireless phone, she gets charged. We don't cash in on our free in-network calling. I know, this should have been obvious, but it just never occurred to me until after I looked at the bill. I'd be able to work with that, though, and just select "Call without using Google Voice" or whatever when calling her if it weren't for the second problem. When people call my Google Voice number, I get charged when I don't answer. Usually, it's just a one-minute charge, but sometimes it's two or three minutes (don't know why). With anything less than an unlimited plan, minutes count. Not good.
Basically, i use my personal cell phone for work and personal use, i have multiple exchange accts that keep things sorted and seperated.
recently though i have been getting more and more business calls to my cell phone, during and outside of normal business hours.
what im looking for is an app that will take a selective group of contacts/phone numbers/CID strings and if it is a "business" call then forward it to a specific phone number (external number, the actual business line).
I have seen apps on the market and around that will forward calls to voicemail if they match certain filters, but i cant really seem to find an app that will forward to an external number. Any way I could accomplish this?
I'm selling my house, and my old phone number (which is still active), is on the advertisment signs and MLS. So, I'm going to keep paying my bill month to month for that account until I sell the house.
However, I'd rather not carry around 2 different phones. I did not port my number to my new service as my old number was not "local" to where I live now.
So, I have service with T-mobile and now Verizon with two different numbers. Can I set-up something where anyone who calls my T-mobile number, will ring through to my my Verizon phone/number?
I am trying to get the contacts from the phone but all I can get is the name, the phone numbers return null.

Have the Motorola droid and searched around a bit. I'll come out and admit I'm a cheap skate and trying to save money on VZ nickle and dime approach (especially compared to Sprint).I signed up for the lowest message plan, so looking for any free to send SMS apps that people use. I signed up for the google voice, but haven't been invited. I heard that has a way to send sms free as data.I am aware of the various free sites on the internet via a browser and was wondering if anyone put together an app to use your contact list or be able to make a new one to send free sms (via data, not plan) that works well. Most my friends have unlimited text so it doesn't bother them.I have also read here and there that some of the instant messaging apps might be able to send a text to a phone number? Any luck with this? So far little info on this subject.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just picked up the Motorola Droid, and I'm loving it.I'm trying to find the best free alternative to SMS (because it's ridiculous that after paying $30/mo for 3G access, I have to pay more to move 100-character messages around on the same network...).Ideal would be something like BlackBerry Messenger. So far, I've been using gTalk with my status set to invisible, and that seems to be a pretty good alternative. When I initiate a gTalk conversation with an invisible status, the conversation usually remains short - like an SMS conversation. One downside is that people never initiate conversations on gTalk with me while I'm set to invisible.
