View 4 RepliesI have a scroll view with lots of image buttons. I want to change the image for an image button when it's pressed. The thing is that I want the image to remain until another image button is pressed. That's why I couldn't use a selector. What is the best practice to achieve his?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get an image from a https url but it doesn't seem to display and get the image correctly but works fine on my computer browser. I have tested out a http url pointing to a different image and it works fine. My code is below:
public Bitmap getContactPhoto(String url) {
Bitmap pic = null; try { pic = BitmapFactory
.decodeStream((InputStream) new URL(
"https://mail.google.com/mail/photos/static/AD34hIjbK2m-Lj333E4nBcCkBC3MYl2tTs0xizuSqUOP3-Jd6DOrpFg1M5HG8jXh0MuPbeFepInZZDu92Dx8ST4b59EbOKmfYTortuuO3P1_Ohyu7b7a3gc")
.getContent()); } catch (MalformedURLException e) {
// TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) {
// TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } return pic; }
Here is the code from the activity class that calls the method above:
private ImageView mContactPhoto; private ContactDetailsViewHelper mViewHelper;
mContactPhoto = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.contact_photo);
mViewHelper = new ContactDetailsViewHelper(mContext);
mContactPhoto.setImageBitmap(mViewHelper.getContactPhoto(mDetail.getImageRef()));
ignore the mDetail.getImageRef, that passes the real url value but for this case I tried hard coding the url as you can see from the getContactPhoto method.
I'm trying to display an image using a URL. When I run the code I get an error telling me the application has stopped unexpectedly. Can anyone see what's wrong in my code.
Bitmap bmImg; URL myFileUrl =null; try {
myFileUrl= new URL("http://www.starling-fitness.com/wp-content/ 240384vBdA_w.jpg");
} catch (MalformedURLException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace();
} try { URLConnection conn= (URLConnection)myFileUrl.openConnection();
conn.setDoInput(true); conn.connect(); int length = conn.getContentLength();
int[] bitmapData = new int[length]; byte[] bitmapData2 = new byte[length];
InputStream is = conn.getInputStream(); bmImg = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(is);
/*timetableImage.setImageBitmap(bmImg);*/ setContentView(R.layout.timetable);
ImageView iv = (ImageView)findViewById(R.id.timetableImage); iv.setImageBitmap(bmImg);
} catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace();
}
Is there any possibility to set background image dynamically? I try to explain what I mean.
String picVariable = getPictureFromServer();
ImageView image = (ImageView)v.findViewById(R.id.dynamic_image);
// I know, that doesn't work, but that's the way I looking for
image.setBackgroundResource(picVariable);
I also read this article. It would suggested in one answer, to use java reflection to get a field of the R class by name. But I've never used reflextion before.
I can't seem to get my ImageView to display its source image in its original size. The ImageView looks like this:
<ImageView android:id="@+id/Logo"
android:src="@drawable/logo" android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content" > </ImageView>
The source image is 140 pixels wide, yet on the Nexus One's screen, which is 480 pixels wide it uses up half of the width. Using absolute values in px or dp for the width and height changes nothing. The image also looks very antialiased from the upscaling. Why is this happening and how can I prevent it?
I am creating a basic jigsaw puzzle for android. The code is almost ready but I am facing problem in finding images for the puzzle. The User should be able to get new image every time they click "Next". Upon selecting an image, the application will create puzzle for the selected image. For this requirement, I need a constant source of public images. My app will be free, so I think it can be considered as Non-Comercial usage of images.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am working on changing the image being shown when I have my ImageView Clicked. I am trying to use a similar code that I used for accomplishing this with a TextView but I can't seem to find the right terms to get it to work. Here is my current code:
electronconfiguration.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
public void onClick(View drawable) { if (drawable.equals(R.drawable.element_el))
electronconfiguration.setImageDrawable(R.drawable.aluminum_el);
else if (drawable.equals(R.drawable.aluminum_el))
electronconfiguration.setImageDrawable(R.drawable.element_el);
} } );
I'm populating a list from the DB and I have a image field in the DB which contains a URL to a image file.
ListAdapter adapter=new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.row, constantsCursor,
new String[] {"title", "subtitle", "image"}, new int[] {R.id.value, R.id.title, R.id.icon});
However, the other fields are populated, but the image remains empty. Why?
I am going to create a gallery view where the user shall switch between different pictures of products. On some of them is going to be a label like "sale" and a short discription. On startup I want to display a loading animation at that place until the product photo is downloaded.
Use layer list or state list for one product photo?
Could you please show me, how to set that up?
How to make that spinner spin?
How to turn it on or off (how to access the layer list through code)?
By the way, is "spinner" the best word for this? It seems to stand for several things. Feel free to edit this question, if I didn't hit the right words.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently started playing with what people call "light painting" using my cell phone and tablet, and it can be fun... but, what I think would really be awesome is if I could pre-load an image, and have it 'paint' it as I move the device around. This is basically identical to the other light-painting apps, but none of them seem to offer this functionality.
I can just imagine some trippy picture I could make with this
I'm pretty new to Android so I'm facing some problems.
I'm using a TextView widget to show a log, just some text. The log content is stored on an SQLite database that my app creates and when a new line is added to the databse I use textview.append("my last line") to add it.
The problems is that when I add a line, it also adds a copy of the text that was already displayed.
Is there any way (or what is the best way) to visualize what specific files within a kernel source are inter-related, what files take priority over others, etc? For example, I want to trace from top to bottom the related kernel source files & actions that would be triggered by insertion into a headphone jack, and dig through the code as much as I'm able and try narrowing down the source of a problem. I can (and have) poked around in github, and understand how to compile the kernel, but don't quite have a grasp of the hierarchy of files, drivers, etc. within the source.
If there isn't a way to 'map' out a specific kernel source, any generic flowchart or 'map' created in general for visualizing the inter-relationships of source files within android kernels?
How to compile a kernel, pack into a boot.img, edit a ramdisk, etc., within the last few weeks, but this is a major roadblock in my understanding of kernel source code.
Is there a working example out there that demonstrates how to append additional rows in ListView dynamically?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have android source code in my system and it works fine. But when I make some changes in android source files and run "make" it doesn't generate/update any files.
i) System should generate a new system.img file if changes have been made to its source code
ii) Android kernel file-zImage file doesn't change with any change even if we make any changes to the source code
Another question if I create a new library folder inside / libcore it gets automatically picked up when compiling. For creating a new library folder outside /libcore i added its path in /build/core/main.mk and .classpath file. Still its not getting picked up during compilation. Can someone please confirm where all we have to make changes for adding a new library file outside /libcore.
I need to append a new TextView to the current View whenever a user hits on a button.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using the stock Android 2.1 gallery to view images. I have a large JPG image (approx 7000x7000 pixels) of bicycle route map for my city. I tried zooming and scrolling with the gallery image viewer, but it cannot zoom in close enough to read the map detail.
Is there a better image viewer app out there that is good for zooming and scrolling large JPG images?
I would like to use Google maps, but the bicycle route mode still does not work in the Android app.
when I compile android (http://source.android.com/download) it does not compile some source files. For example there is external/bluetooth/bluez/sbc/sbc.c which is not compiled. There are also other such files.
It's possible those files need not to be compiled. Or it might be that I need some special configuration to compile them.
Either way, if it is possible, I'd like to compile them. Is there some way to do it? Maybe some "compile_all" make target? (I believe the reason why I want to compile all source files is not important)
Is there a way to externalize all the strings in the source files to strings.xml automatically?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have to make a dedicated image viewer app for Android 2.x.
There are too many jpeg image files: about 2000~ jpegs, over 100MB.
I want access the image files with their file names,
but I couldn't find such an example.
By the way, is it okay to put many image files in /res/drawable folder?
I heard that the android application cannot be installed on sdcard and
the program repository is very small so 100MB app cannot be installed generally.
I found some examples which download the large data files on sdcard online,
but I cannot run a web server to host the data files,
and I must upload the fully packaged program on Android Market. (Should I build one apk file?)
What are the best practices for managing too many resource images (or something) in Android?
I was wondering if you know where the image files for the default Beautiful Widget skin are located. I would love to edit it but just can't seem to find it.
