View 1 RepliesI installed/paid for the PDANet on my Droid- and it works great! awesome! then after a bit of run time my phone 'locks' up... and i dont mean lock up like i have to hard restart it or it force closes... what it does is that the send/receive icon at the top it still shows I'm connected to the 3G, but the arrows are locked on send... and after about 15-30 seconds the send arrow clicks off and i can continue doing what i was previously doing...
any ideas on why this is happening?
my droid and pdanet are up to date, and my comp is running xp...
and i did try to contact the pdanet tech people... but after 2 days of waiting I'm getting kind of antzy on a fix.
If i turn this off while I am home or in my dorm and connected to wi-fi
can I
1) Receive Texts
2)Send/Receive Pics
3)Make Calls?
I am trying to conduct a bit of research before starting to develop an android application I am planning. I want the application to exhibit the following behavior:
If connected to WiFi, send and receive messages to remote server.Else If not connected to WiFi, do not send any messages. Display error message.
I am trying to create an ethical application so users will not be charged when they become disconnected from WiFi without them noticing. Any existing source/documentation on how to do this.
For some reason, not sure if it was due to the rooting w/ kangerade latest version. But now when I am streaming pandora and the phone rings I can barely hear the people on the other end. Really scratchy, but its fine once I pull the aux cable out. I also added the new baseband that pete put out that was said to be for Froyo? Not sure if it is the new baseband, even though I get more bars in more places....(tired ass ATT slogan, even though I work there)

But I am unable to do the same thing on folders on the connected phone device that, for all I know, is similar to a removable device. The phone is a Samsung Droid Charge. When I copy the Desktop.ini and the folder containing the icon file from the pc to the memory card, nothing happens. The icons for the folders still have the same default appearance. Don't know how many people care to have custom icons but it is a nice thing to have when you are always trying to identify a few folders from many.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I had my Voyager, I could use my bluetooth earpiece to talk on the phone, and also get the audio from the Navigation to come through the earpiece. I was surprised tonight that when I was using my GPS on the Droid it didn't come through my earpiece which resulted in me turning my radio down significantly so I could hear the phone.
I also have a stereo bluetooth headphones that I already paired and see the icon on the screen, but when I play a video or some music, it doesn't come through the headphones. Its still coming out of the Droid's phone speakers. Its showing that it is connected in my notifications bar too.
First off, im running HC2.1,
1.Dont you have to root to be able to upgrade to a different software type? I rooted before in stalling greek35 2.1, then upgraded to HC2.1, do i have to reroot?
2. Rooting is just, using the update.zip file you download, then using droidroothelp.apk program, mount3, update those 3 things, flash 15.0, rename, reboot ect...so basically as long as you have SU app on your phone your rooted no?
Now boot animation question
I downloaded a boot animation, connected my phone with usb debugging, used the cd command and abd push bootanimation.zip /data/local, rebooted and the boot animation didnt change..after i used the push command, it said x.xkb transfered in 1.23seconds or whatever...any suggestions?
I had been using IMEasy for its multiple-account capability, I found my phone running warm when multiple accounts were connected though, and the battery drained fast; down to 70% in 3 hours in a poor signal area. I thought it was the poor signal. Installed Trillian yesterday, it's connected to 3 IM accounts and after 5 hours I'm only down to 90%, in the same area. I've been a happy Trillian user on the PC, I already had an Astra account from that so setup was SIMPLE. I HIGHLY suggest this app, though it's still in Beta and it IS missing a couple options I would like they're not critical issues to me, and I'm sure they'll fix them.
Beta is available from their site, Trillian - IM, Astra, Windows Live, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, MySpace, AIM, Email, and more!
I know this sounds like an ad but I'm just a happy customer.
The 2 missing items (maybe one really) are the ability to set the notification tone in the app and the ability to change the notification LED color in the app.
I have a Motorola Droid and the latest release of Android (Froyo 2.2).My question is I want to send a music video that is going to a Non-Android phone. This phone can play videos and is a standard Verizon branded phone. The video has already been converted to the standard .3gp format from my PC which uses Roxio 2010 Video converter. I have the following Apps installed to assist me:Astro File Manager (With both extensions installed and latest release)Handcent SMS (No Font Packs Installed).The video itself is almost 4 minutes long and the size of the video is only 9.40MB.
View 16 Replies View RelatedDownloaded FoxFi, and love it. Great when I need to use my laptop. But...
Lately, I've noticed it has been having connection issues. I start the hotspot, my laptop "sees" it. And I can connect (shows "connected" in the wifi window next to "FoxFi" on laptop). But, at the top of the same wifi window, it also shows (under "Currently connected to:"), "No internet access" (or something - connected right now on different wifi network, so I can't get the exact wording). But I hope this is clear.
Why this weird contradiction? One part of the window says I'm connected, the other says I'm not.
I have a huge problem testing my app on my HTC Wildfire. It was working fine until recently, but now I always get a force close error when I run or debug a new version of the app.When I try to run the app on the emulator it still works, when I disconnect the phone from the PC, the app also runs on the phone (including all changes).I was working on a xml file when this happened. If someone could help me out here, that would be great because this is really weird and I really don't know what I should do now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI connected my android phone to my PC via USB cable and created a folder and file at "F:/Android/mymusic/so_happy.mp3". What I am trying to with my program on the phone is to list the contents of "F:/Android/mymusic/" (however that is represented on the device, I think it is something like /mnt/sdcard/Android/mymusic/ but that is not working). So far I am not getting anywhere. A listing of my code is posted below. Basically what it does is checks the directory for file contents, stores it in an arraylist of strings, and then is added to a spinner. So far, files is always null and "song0" and "song1" just get added to the spinner. What I want is to see "so_happy.mp3" there instead.
Code:
public class AndroidSimpleMusicPlayerActivity extends Activity
{
/** Called when the activity is first created. */
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState)
[Code] ......
I have multiple activities and one service.. In MainActivity I successfully connect to service (using a class what implements ServiceConnection + bindService() + startService()) but when i try to apply same method in other activity i see in LogCat a error... It Is possible to connect to service in an other way: something like to make static my CounterServiceConnection object in MainActivity and use it in the second one?

View 31 Replies View RelatedIf I reboot my PC with the phone connected the PC drivers are apparently getting connected. I get the new hardware found window (the phone), and when I click next it can't find the drivers, not even if I point it to the EasyTether directory (Android Driver and Network Driver folders). I have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers (easytether_86 - from the link the phone has in Apps), and then plug/unplug the phone a couple times. If I unplug the phone before rebooting there is no problem.
It will be extremely difficult to remember to unplug the USB cable from the phone every time I reboot or turn off the computer. This is not acceptable. It is a royal pain to fix.
I paid the $10 to register EasyTether to get https access.

I know how to sync contacts and so on, but is there any way you can call up your Android Desire address details while connected to a computer and modify them there? It would be a lot easier than using the touch screen keyboard.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI posted this earlier but it disappeared? When the phone is unplugged, it says USB connected, and all of the icons are missing from the top of the homepage (time, signal strength, 3g, etc). The pull down menu is also hard to pull down then is real jerky when it does pull down. When the phone is plugged in, it has the signal for the USB and all the icons return, It also shows a full battery, then tho it is not.
