Is there an app or something where i can use my fingerprint to unlock my phone. because i have an htc hero. awsome phone its just i hate the pattern thing.

I was browsing the web and I saw an application that claimed to scan for user's fingerprints so I thought I should give it a try, the app worked well and I was amazed! does anyone know how this app reads user's fingerprint? how is this possible on android? any tutorial or hints or any open source project? I think this will help a lot of developers thanks maxsap.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to generate the MD5 Fingerprint I will use with the release of my application. I used Eclipse to Compile and Sign my application, which gave me a keystore file and a .apk file. Now i need to generate the MD5 for my MapViews. I tried using the cmd prompt to generate it, but everytime it states that no such file exists. Is there somewhere special i need to be storing the keystore so the keytool has access to it? Also, once i get the MD5 fingerprint, all i have to do is insert it and re-compile and sign my application (the same way i previously did it). Am i correct on that assumption? I've read through the developer docs and I'm still unclear on the whole process.

You're probably aware that in order to get a Google Maps API key, you need to provide them with the certificate fingerprint of your app so that they can match the key with the fingerprint when you use it so as to ensure it's "really you". I've got a similar situation in which I'd like to make requests against a URL (my server) and would like to pass my app's fingerprint as part of the request. I've got no clue which classes I should be looking at.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAbsolutely LOVELY. Went on beautifully with no bubbles or trapped dirt, though I must explain my application process. I did like most users suggested and ran a steaming hot shower and closed the doors, from here I used a sticky sheet that came with my iPod Touch screen protector that you lay on the device and then peel off to remove all dust, then cleaned all smudges with the microfiber cloth.
To put on, I simply peeled back the top end of the protector only, with the hard card thingy they give you for bubbles in my other hand, then slowly lined up the protector on the top edge and over the earpiece, from here I just squeegeed down the phone, peeling back more and more until it was on, then I got rid of all other little bubbles, and that was that! Perfectly applied!
Thoughts:
So I am very used to anti glare/fingerprint protectors, as I am totally unaccepting of the slightest smudges, so I am very accustomed to the clarity loss, but I do understand that this has been a problem with others who have purchased this protector. I can say that it is not really any worse than any other anti glare protectors, and there's hardly any rainbow effect on white screens, if any at all, which is a big improvement over the lexerd anti glare I had on before this one (we won't get into much of that, just don't ever buy it).
NO fingerprints show, it's amazing, I mean with my other one it would heavily reduce them, but they would still sort of show in direct light, here, NONE! And the matte feeling gives the best feeling and sound when swiping (or should I say Sywpe-ing) on the touch screen.
I HIGHLY recommend this protector if you want the anti-glare and no fingerprints and of course don't mind the recuction in screen clarity, and with the Droid and its beautiful screen, this can be a bit hard, but if you can sacrifice a bit, you will be extremely happy!
I ordered 6 from ebay for under ?2.50. This is for an EVO but i'm thinking maybe it'll be similar to other android phones. what i'd to set up is to have the phone require the 'dot unlock pattern' after it's been sitting for 5 minutes idle. when i set it up with AutoLock, whenever the screen turns off after 1 minute, it'll rqeuire me to do the slide down to unlock which i don't want.

When I restared the phone it said "No sim" and emergency call only. I put a sim in, and it wants an unlock pin. Does anyone know a way t-mobile or google or whoever can unlock my phone for free? Someone I can call and explain the situation to? I dont know what to do and don't want to pay $20 to some sketchy company for a pin and I dont think my boss would either.

Must be a GSM quad band phone, and I need to have it unlocked to take a pre paid sim card. Am only used to VZW as that is what I have had. Would the google phone do this, or can I unlock a TMO phone. I searched about nexus since it is similar and saw a few things about the app LOCKBOT, i recommend you atleast try the free version and see, it gives you unlock with the trackpad button and the ability to do custom lockscreen with different styles like Iphone, and different android locks. THis was one grip i didnt like about sense. Stock Android has the ability to swipe to unlock or swipe the other way to mute sounds, which is a nice feature, although i prefer my iphones switch the best
The bad...Ive read stuff about it crashing and being laggy, now i havnt experiended this on the INC, it runs super smooth. But i have been having a few times where the front button will not unlock the phone, maybe an update will fix this or something, but its worth a shot to look at.
Recently my phone's screen (galaxy s4) has broken. It is not shattered but it does not light up or respond to touch. It looks almost as if it is not on at all. I know it is on because the light in the upper corner that blinks for notifications works and the soft keys light up when the power/lock button and volume button are pushed. I can not see or save what I have on my phone through Kies because I can not unlock it. I was wondering if there was any other way to unlock a phone like through a website or program, or even display a phones screen onto another device, because I have picture on here that are very important to me that I would like to save before I ship my phone in for it's replacement and lose everything. I did not have an SD card and I do not know if everything saved to my clouds or google docs.

It tells me to sign into gmail to unlock the phone, but when i enter my info it will not sign in. View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've been using Aloysius Snow ROM (which I like very much) - and one of the things I like is that to unlock the screen I have to swipe from left to right (and, even better, if I swipe the other direction, I can toggle sound off and sound on - fast way to mute/unmute!). I was thinking of trying a different ROM, just for the heck of it, but I very much do not want to go with a ROM that requires a top to bottom unlock swipe.
The question, therefore, is - which direction does which ROM require for unlocking?
I lost my phone and it doesnt have an unlock pin so theres nothing stopping access to my phones data....
Its an HTC Magic and syncs to my google calendar. I've reset my messenger password so im guessing altho they get into my ebuddy app automatically, the messenger password on the phone will be out of sync and wrong? I've chosen "log out of everywhere" from Windows Live. I've rest my Evernote password. I dont have any apps that can help me find phone or send an erase message to the phone.
So all thats left I guess is my Google calendar. I suppose its not a train smash having my Calendar data on the phone, but I'd like to erase it. If I go to Google Calendar and delete all the appointments will that delete the appointments if my lost phone syncs, and i think ive set it to sync every time the calendar app is run? Also, with contacts, i seem to remember those not syncing very often, only when i went into settings and contacts on the htc, so im not sure of how to get rid of all the contacts on my phone even if I delete them all from my Google Account.
Is there anyway to disable the i7500 phone lock as I find it quite annoying.

Despite me telling them that I will never give them my unlock pattern they managed to lock my phone out to the point where it asks for my google account. I tried login in with failed attempts. I even logged into google and changed my password and same results. I cannot use my phone anymore. Need help. Please respond. I need to know how to get my phone unlocked.
View 7 Replies View RelatedOccasionally, the slide down to unlock doesn't work on my Eris, although right now is a first: It repeatedly won't let me unlock it despite putting it to sleep, then waking it up, etc.
Usually a quick sleep and then up will solve it, but I can't unlock it.
Is there any way I can fix this besides removing the battery...This will be the third time in 3 days I have to remove the battery. The first two were when my screen stayed black and wouldn't turn on...
So its only when the phone is ringing. The swipe to get it out of the locked mode can be so unresponsive that I miss the phone call. Is there a calibration for the screen?
