Looking for an app to turn on data only at regularly scheduled intervals, say every 15 minutes or so.Anything out there? I know juicedefender may do this but I've heard mixed reviews on it.

Just joined the Android group. I'm having problems with the acceleration and orientation sensors.I would like to obtain sensor data (acceleration and orientation values) at regular intervals (10 milliseconds). However, the SensorEventListener doesn't allow you to do that. Does anyone have an idea of how to work around this issue? This is important as I need it to collect data for an app I'm working on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a datalogger which logs the gps data and the sensor data of the phone. I've just a strange problem. If the phone is not touched for few minutes it goes into standby mode (screen goes black), and that causes the logger to stop working. Actually the firewriting in the logger stops working. The GPS resumes fine after coming out of blackscreen, but when I check the log I created it only shows saved points for few minutes. Does anyone have idea what is causing this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEven though I have "Background data" and "always on mobile data" enabled, my data connection keeps dropping. The "3G" will dim itself after a period of inactivity even with having three or more bars of signal strength. For most applications this is not a issue but it reeks havoc on Google Talk (have "automatically sign in enabled) and sometimes the Android Market.My phone has been doing this for a while. I just updated to Fresh 3.2 and installed the latest radios. Still having the same problem. What can I do to fix this? Has anyone else had this problem before.

I tried it once and noticed I had to turn it back on to access the market, so I assumed that it would prevent ALL data like that, including web browsing and possibly mail. Is that correct, or does it just affect the market?

The strange thing is I can't even turn off mobile network without a restart. If I try to turn it off it will just turn on by itself again. Does anyone know why?I have Legend 2.1 update 1

View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while I notice that there is no indication for 3G or 1x, not that I don't have reception, it just isn't turned on for some reason. It will fix itself if I reboot my phone, or turn it to airplane mode and then back to normal. Does anyone else experience this? Honestly it isn't annoying enough to replace my phone, just weird.

Will upchucking "data roaming" and "enable always on mobile data" under mobile networks do that? I called and asked Verizon, but the guy I got was completely clueless.

I googled around and found that this problem has been around for a while and a lot of people are complaining about this however there still isn't any solution. Some suggested that ShopSavy was doing this, but I uninstalled it and still got the problem, and I even re-installed the ROM. Looks like this is happening to ICS users only.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently been having an issue where my Mobile Data randomly does not work. When I go to settings, it is checked as enabled. I have to uncheck and recheck this to get it to 'turn back on' or refresh.I haven't been able to see a pattern yet for why it's turning off, but it seems to sometimes do it after it goes to sleep. I have tried enabling 'Always On' for the data connection, but this doesn't help.

Normally I'm setting on Background Data off due to being at my work and saving as much battery as possible. I've always been able to go to the webpage there. I just turned on Background Data again since I'll be home for the weekend and tried to go to the webpage and it showed a lock on the address bar and wouldn't load. Why would turning on Background Data not allow me to go to the page? Could it be something else?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to work with phones and am aware that most Android phones have two boxes you can check/uncheck the first time you turn them on. One says something about using your location for Google apps. The other says something like "allow Google to collect anonymous location data". When I got a new phone today, the clerk turned it on when I wasn't paying attention as part of the setup process and checked both boxes without checking with me first. Where can I disable these features now that the phone has already gone through its initial setup process?
Edit: Found the answer to one of these shortly after posting due to a better-worded search. Apparently turning off "Use wireless networks" and "Use GPS satellites" under "Location and security" turns off anonymous collection of data. (I had seen these while searching the phone earlier, but the caption does not make it clear that checking them enables Google to collect anonymous location data even when you aren't running any apps. It's only when you uncheck them and try to check them again that it pops up with this information.)
Looking for a scheduled reboot app with a non rooted phone android 2.1.I noticed that my free memory goes from around 210s to 130s in a day even with ATK running.Don't know where the memory is leaking but maybe someone can fill me in.Anyway with a reboot it jumps right back up to the 210s even though all the apps are running in ATK.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI would like to make an app that measures little time intervals (nanoseconds) so I need to know about time resolution and precision regarding such measures with an Android device.
In other words:
- Is it feasible to get reliable values of the current time with nanosecond resolution?
- If so, is feasible to measure such little time interavals? I mean, is there any way to tell the app/OS to focus on measuring the time interval specified in the current thread instead of allowing other processes to make the measuring task not precise?
I've tried to measure the time between the execution of two different lines in code but the results are not always the same, somehow random, then I suppose Dalvik and its process management is causing this to be unreliable and random. What I need to do is to measure distances by getting transmission and reception of audio tones of 16-20 KHz (done in [1] with iOS), thus needing resolution and precision.
Just downloaded the latest version of Titanium off the market and it now offers scheduled backups (not sure if this is only for the paid version). There are also a handful of other new features that I haven't checked out yet. I am pretty excited about this and just wanted to give my rooted brothers and sisters a heads up

Also, from say 11pm - 6am I also don't need instant mail since I'm sleeping :-)it would be important that this would be controlled by days (for instance, I would like to be able to schedule the instant mail off on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am - 5pm.

Who is this 'sync manager', and at what intervals will it instruct the sync adapter to onPerformSync()?
I was checking what was eating my battery the most earlier and noticed that calendar was the biggest drain based on partial wake usage.Can I set the interval that the calendar updates?I would like it to be automatic...just a.little less often.Is it possible that the gmail app also controls frequency for the cal? Now... I use Locale for the following:
- Turning the ringer down when I get to work (obviouse one)
- Turning GPS/Bluetooth/wifi on when I plug it in the phone (think car dock)
- Turn on Wifi when I get near my known hot spots.
- Turn off GPS/Bluetooth/wifi off and turn down brightness when my battery is low.
And the last one is a good one for me...
- I have a GV number. When I call my phone from that number, it turns the ringer volume all the way up and it turns on wifi and GPS. This is my "lost phone aid". It turns on the locating features so I can see where the phone is using iGoogle and Latitude, and I can hear the phone if it is "in the cushions" on vibrate.
Anyone else get creative with Locale?
