Android :: Animation Not Start Immediately When The Target View Is Out Of Window

Jun 10, 2010

When I apply some animation to the view, which is out of window, the animation not start immediately. And then, I scroll the screen to show the animation target view, the animation will start. I hope to the animation will start immediately when it apply.

Bellow is sample code.................

Android :: Animation not start immediately when the target view is out of window

Android :: Animation.start - Or Animation.startNow - Does Not Start The Animation Immediately

Aug 30, 2010

I have a strange issue - from time to time the animation that should fade out my control (ImageButton) does not kick in immediately. I am using the fadeout animation to hide it and then in myListener on its end (onAnimationEnd) I put new resource as the image on the button.

Somewhere in my app code:

Animation a = AnimationUtils.loadAnimation(this,R.anim.fadeout); a.setAnimationListener(new myListener(location)); buttons[location].setAnimation(a); a.startNow(); // regardless if its start() or startnNow() it will work in most of the cases but not 100% reliable I actually can see in debug Log when its late, happens after few more clicks

Then in myListener.onAnimationEnd(Animation a):buttons[location].setImageResource(R.drawable.standard_button);

Seems there is a rule that the every 4th or 5th animation does not start ...

Android :: Small Animation - Image Start From Bottom Of Text View And Expand

Feb 23, 2010

- TEXT VIEW -' SLIDE DRAWER image
I have a layout like this above textview and an image that slides down after clicking the text view. I have looked at translate animation but the issue is I want the image to start from the bottom of text view and gradually get into its full view. Translate animation doesn't let me start from behind the textview so that it can appear slowly and coming out at the bottom of text view and expanding to its fullview. I have linear layout now with textview and imageview.

Android :: Drag And Drop From Source View To Target View

Sep 17, 2009

I have a problem statement, and here it is: My requirement is: There are a number of images shown on the screen. I want to allow the user to drag and drop any of the images to anyother image. Based on which image is dragged and on which is it dropped, I need to do something specific. So, I need to find a way so that I can get my source view and my target view.To understand this in a better way, consider a practical scenario. In the File Explorer of Windows, we can drag and drop items from the left pane showing the directory tree to any of the folders shown in the right pane.If anyone of you ever faced a similar scenario, please let me know because I could not find a direct support to such a thing (Drag and Drop) in the platform, so may be I need to find an innovative solution to it.

Android :: Rotating Animation / Applied To Full Window

Dec 20, 2009

I have a pretty simple view hierarchy, including an ImageView in a FrameLayout with a source drawable that is bigger than the window size.Using scaleType=center the image is cropped and centered, as expected, when laid out.In response to user interaction we need to rotate the ImageView.I am using a rotate animation XML definition and View.startAnimation.This works with one remaining problem: the cropped part of the image remains cropped when rotated,so when the image is rotated by 90 degrees in portrait orientation the image is clearly cropped on the top and bottom. Essentially it looks like a rectangle the size of the view window is being rotated, rather than the oversize image in its entirety (note it is intentionally oversize in the hope of avoiding this cropping problem). We want the image to fill the screen regardless of the angle of rotation. What am I missing?

Android :: Use TouchDelegate To Increase Size Of View's Click Target?

Aug 27, 2009

My understanding is that when you have a view that's too small to easily touch, you're supposed to use a TouchDelegate to increase the clickable region for that view. However, searching for usage examples on Google turn up multiple people asking the question, but few answers. Does anyone know the proper way to set up a touch delegate for a view to, say, increase its clickable region by 4 pixels in every direction?

Android :: Check If The View Is Visible On The Window

Sep 4, 2010

What's the best way to check if the view is visible on the window?

I have a CustomView which is part of my SDK and anybody can add CustomView to their layouts. My CustomView is taking some actions when it is visible to the user periodically. So if view becomes invisible to the user then it needs to stop the timer and when it becomes visible again it should restart its course.

But unfortunately there is no certain way of checking if my CustomView becomes visible or invisible to the user. There are few things that I can check and listen to: onVisibilityChange, it is for view's visibility change, and is introduced in new API 8 version so has backward compatibility issue onWindowVisibilityChange, but my CustomView can be part of a ViewFlipper's Views so it can pose issues onDetachedFromWindows, this not as useful onWindowFocusChanged //Again my CustomView can be part of ViewFlipper's views. So if anybody has faced this kind of issues please throw some light.

Android :: Change Custom Title View Of Window At Run Time

May 5, 2009

I am using a custom title view in my application for each activity. In one of the activities, based on button clicks I need to change the custom title view. Now this works fine every time when I make a call to setFeatureInt.

But if I try to update any items in the custom title (say change the text of a button or a text view on the title), the update does not take place.

Debugging through the code shows that the text view and button instances are not null and I can also see the custom title bar. But the text on the text view or the button is not updated. Has anyone else faced this problem? How do I resolve it?

Native Start.main(Native Method) Since it comes from external beta users I dont know what they were doing when they got it. Nor do i know how to reproduce it. The stack trace does not list any of our code. Usually, this error means that there was an orientation change while a dialog was open, thereby invalidating the reference to the dialog when android recreates it. All of my activities already uses Android:configChanges="keyboardHidden|orientation" in order to prevent them from doing this. We still get the error. Has anyone else seen this before? What could be the problem?

From what I have read (http://bend-ing.blogspot.com/2008/11/properly-handle-progress-dialog-in.html) and seen in Android sources, it looks like the only possible situation to get that exception is when activity was destroyed. But as I have mentioned, I forbid activity recreation for basic events.
