I have read a lot about Launcher Pro and have been using it for 3 weeks now. I have not seen as much info about ADW. Can anyone chime in about the major differences between the two and anything that ADW does better/faster than Launcher Pro?

when I click on launcher it does not show displayed activity log for launcher, it shows it way before during boot up stage. why is this happening?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using LP for about a week (it's great BTW!) and this just started to happen so it could have something to do with the latest update. I've set LP at the default launcher and everything works great. However, if I ever long press the "home" button, go to an application, then press "home" again I get the popup asking me which launcher I want to use. I check the "set as default" box then select LP and everything is good again. It all works until I long press home the next time, then the remembered default is gone and I get the prompt again. I've tried rebooting, clearing defaults, etc.

As most of you know that after downloading it, pressing the home button gives you the option of which home screen launcher that you want to..well.. launch..either HTC Sense or Launcher Pro. Well this morning I picked Launcher Pro, but accidently clicked the "don't ask me this again" box before that, so now I'm stuck on Launcher Pro and can't get back to my, or any, HTC Sense launcher. I've gone all through my settings and can't figure it out. I'd like to either get back to my old HTC Sense home screen, get to the DEFAULT HTC Sense homescreen, or get back to being able to have the option to pick which one I want to launch.

I used ADW for a while, but when I am on ADW my notification bar get vanished. I dk how..so i switched to launcher pro. I had a random shut down once, so now I am thinking it because of Launcher pro.

View 45 Replies View RelatedIntuitit has release another home replacement app called Launcher++. It is a stripped down version of Home++. Doesn't have the task bar on the bottom and the wrapping screens, it really lets you take the stock home screens and add screens to it. No frills, just more screens. Which works for me. I always like the stock home app, Home++ was great, just didn't need all the bells and whistles. Not I get more screens and it is still lightning fast.

So my question is: WHen I install launcherpro and set it as default launcher, should I uninstall adw.launcher to have better performance? And if yes, are my settings and homescreens kept when I want to switch back to adw.launcher some time? I read about performance issues here somewhere, when adw.launcher with 5 full homescreens is running in background and somewhere, people stated one should remove all widgets from the homescreen before switching to a new launcher.

Very different launcher in a lot of ways.
Has left to right scrolling in the app drawer instead of vertical.
Has 2 main dock spaces for icons but if you swipe up on the app drawer instead of pressing it you will see what he calls the dock bar which has space for 6 more dock spots.
Tons of customization options.
How to get more than 3 homescreens? I found the setting, but 3 is the max and quite lame might I add.

With launcher pro, I have to keep going through my phonebook or recent calls list to try to find people. It does get tedious. Is there any app/widget that is similar to the sense favorites?

Maybe it contains content providers, or maybe it is a license key app that just needs to be present.What is the proper way to do that? If I don't have an <application> tag at all, that works, but I don't think that is the proper way, since <provider> and <receiver> are also inside <application>.But the user experience is *unacceptable*. Instead of being removed, the icon sticks around and says 'Application not installed' until they reboot their phone, or, more likely, go for the refund.
