I just had something weird happen. My wife called me. And her name did not appear, just the number. I went back and looked, and she was no longer in. my contact list. Any ideas how or why this happened.

I synced facebook to update the contact pictures and now all the pictures are gone even my contact picture.
If i click on the contact then click link it says i have no facebook friend to link to.
I resurrected my old Slingbox last night because I decided I wanted to try it with my Android phone. I got the Slingbox working again, and went to the marketplace to download Slingplayer for Android. I did so, and paid the $29.99 for the app.When it completed, I ran the app. It gave me the selection screen where you select the slingbox you want to use...I did so. All of the sudden, a screen popped up asking for the reason I wanted to delete the application from my Android device. It had 4 or 5 reasons listed....but no option NOT to remove it. I hit the "back" button. Well, the app is gone. If I go back to the marketplace, I see Slingplayer with the option to "buy" but not that it is installed. If I look at my bank account, it shows the charged. Now I can't figure out what to do. Is there some sort of customer service for Android (google)? I sure haven't seen it. If I got screwed out of a application, I wouldn't worry about it, but this was $30. Does anyone have any suggestions?

(among many other things) well i got the 2.1 update today and have to be honest was not super impressed, although i will say my web browsing experience has improved and the phone seems to be overall faster would still love to have adobe flash i guess thats the "golden question" does anyone know if my droid will ever get it?

Has the ADT repository been deleted or moved? I've tried entering the URL in Eclipse and it can't find it, and I tried just browsing to the page, and I get a 404 from google. I've tried both https and http with no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated! What should have been a 1 hour (max) activity (setting up Eclipse and the Android SDK on a new machine) is now dominating my day.
I also subscribe to the Android Discuss group. I clicked on a post in today's email update and got a message saying "Cannot find android- discuss ... There is no group named android-discuss". There were a couple of threads I was watching.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI uninstalled some system applications on my phone and I instantly regretted it and restored applications from back-ups using Wondershare MobileGo for Adroid. However, although it seems all the applications are working again, when I unlock the screen, I get a black screen - no desktop, no application list, but with the notification bar on top which works properly. The clock and calendar are displayed on the unlock screen and the alarm clock woke me up... I got some notifications on the black screen: process.android.acore, process.android.gapps and process.android.vending stopped working, process system stopped working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried the 'unofficial' cupcake SDK and found that the hardware HOME button doesn't bring me back to the home screen anymore. Is this a conscious UI decision? What's the reason behind it? Also, long-press on the HOME button doesn't bring up the task manager anymore. So, if I am in the browser, I have to all the way close all the pages before I can go back to home screen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI performed a hard-reset on my phone this evening, and I just noticed that the Google Maps Navigator program is now missing off my phone.This is a different program than Google Maps (it's far more useful for navigation purposes).My Evo isn't rooted or anything.I can't even find the program in the Android Marketplace now.The link from the google site now goes to Google Maps.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Hero was working perfectly with my googlemail calendar. then today, all the calendar events disappeared from my phone. i have tried unchecking and rechecking my googlemail calendar from the HTC calendar app but to no avail. other calendars work fien with my phone (UK holidays, USA holidays), it's only my googlemail calendar which is linked to my Hero which has stopped working correctly. i have also tried restarting the phone. all the calendar's events are visible online through my computer...they've just suddenly stopped showing up on my phone. any advice/ideas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Captivate since the 19th of July and have been pretty happy with it but today my email accounts disappeared from my phone.I've been using the email app that came with the phone without issues but today my personal gmail and my work exchange accounts vanished. I noticed I hadn't received a new email notification in several hours so I went to check my email it prompted me to setup an email account. Anyone else have this happen? I only have 2 days to return my Captivate, it's been a good phone so far but I cant afford to lose my email accounts for no apparent reason again. I haven't installed any new apps or made any changes to the phone.Coming from the Blackberry world I took it for granted that email just worked flawlessly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen adding new contacts to the droid x, it added it as both a goggle contact and phone contact. (i only have one goggle account setup). I went into contacts -> menu -> more -> settings. I am UNABLE to check/unchecked the "Phone Contacts" (it is always checked). The goggle one i am able to check/unchecked. WHY and HOW can i toggle the phone contact? Also, backup assistant only takes PHONE contacts and not GOOGLE contacts...while g mail contact sync only takes goggle contacts and NOT PHONE contacts. How can one change phone contact to goggle contact? (i have seen posts all over but no answers...and just replies saying "i have the same problem") I am trying NOT to have two (2) different types of contacts. PHONE and GOOGLE. I just want goggle contacts ( or phone contacts. so i can at least use verizon's backup assistant.

The main negative of this is that I can not sync these contacts. Does anyone know of way to change the contact type? My phone is rooted if that makes a difference.In another thread relating to this someone mentioned an app that fixes this but I could not find it. Does anyone know of the app?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHey guys, something is going on with my keyboard. I'm currently using the stock keyboard. You know when you put your finger on a letter and you get the box hovering over telling what letter you are pressing? For some reason mines not showing up when I use the keyboard in portrait mode. But when I go to the number pad or w/e they show up again. When the keyboard is in landscape mode, it doesn't suffer from any of these problems. The only thing I did with the keyboard was install the thick fingers keyboard to test it out and then I installed it. Can you guys help me out?

It's hard to describe, but it looks like a spotlight. The spotlight starts underneath the microphone on the right side of the search bar and it shines on the word 'Google' on the left side.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIn Settings > About Phone > System Updates, it says "Android Update 1.5" at the top, and when I click download everything seems to go smooth, and it says "Requires a restart". So I power my phone down, power it back up, and go to System Updates, and it still says I need "Android Update 1.5". Is there a way to check if the update actually happened, or what should I do?
