Motorola Droid :: Way To Move Facebook Contacts Over To Google?
Nov 6, 2009So the DROID easily synced up with FB and gmail (awesome btw) but I was wondering if I can move my facebook contacts over to Google. The majority of my contacts were imported from FB because I accidentally wiped my old phone, and both Google and FB are set to sync, but I see that my contacts present on the phone were not added to Google.

Jul 21, 2010I have a group on gmail called coworkers. I added many of the employees in my company as contacts. I am now running Launcher Pro as well for what that is worth. I found the option to check coworkers as a group, but I can't figure out how to associate or move the employee contacts under that group. What am I missing? Or am I going about this the wrong way entirely?

Then when I get my new EVO, it will sync with Gmail and my contacts will be in the new phone?

Apr 16, 2012I don't want my contacts to be synced with Google. IIRC, this was possible in 2.x. Having upgraded to 4.0.4, I'm not able to disable Google contacts.
I'd like to:
1. Disable contact sync (this works)
2. Change all contacts from Google contacts to phone contacts
3. Add new contacts as phone contacts by default.
Using the "Accounts and Sync" settings, I'm only able to deselect "Sync Contacts", but I can't find a way to move the contacts and disable the creation of new Google contacts.
Motorola Droid :: Contacts Only Syncing To Google All Contacts Not My Contacts
Jan 16, 2010I seem to be having a sync issue with my Droid.When I add a contact to my phone, it doesn't sync into "My contacts" in Gmail; it'll sync into "All contacts". So, a couple of questions:
1) How can I get the phone to add new contacts created on my Droid into "My contacts" in Gmail?
2) I'm trying to understand the point of "All contacts". Why does Gmail want to keep a list of anyone that I've ever sent an email to? Otherwise, it'll be simple enough to just merge the two groups and call it a day.(Note: When I bought my Droid I did NOT have the VZW sales person transfer my contacts or any data from my old Blackberry to my Droid. I used Google Sync on my BB and synced my contacts from my BB to Gmail, then when I got the Droid, it automatically pulled my contacts from Gmail.)(FWIW, yes, I did a search and found two great threads: http://androidforums.com/support-troubleshooting/15042-how-do-i-push-droid-contacts-back-gmails-my-contacts.html and http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/15069-contacts-dont-really-synchronize.html but I have a different situation than most of those guys and I'd actually prefer to sift through and merge a couple of contacts from "All contacts" to "My contacts" every once in a while than deal with a backup and factory reset.)

Oct 11, 2010I got a X about 2 months ago and have loved it so far. I moved a digital version of Star Trek to the droid but did it by just copying directly to the droid after enabling mass storage mode.
What i'm wondering is if that's the best way to move movies over? It looks great but the sound seems to be a second behind the video which I wasn't sure is because of the way I transferred it.
I saw people recommend dvdfab, which i've heard of. Does Vcast media manager work as well or does it not matter as long as you use a good converting program?
Also, just bought Blue Ray versions of SWAT, Death Race, Shooter which were newer so there is no digital version. Is there a legal program to copy them to my pc so I can put them on my phone?

Dec 24, 2009I just want some input on what i should do. i realize this is the droid forum so im probably going to get some biased answers from people, but i am looking for some good feedback. basically, im tired of going back and forth between trying to decide if i should keep the eris or go to the droid (or wait for something better). the factors i am looking for in the phone are the following:
-fast system that can compete with today's best smartphones
-longevity of the phone (meaning once i get on the 2-year, i won't regret it because something far outdoes this phone)
-best internet experience possible
-"bring it all with you" design, meaning, i want it to be an all-in-one unit that can do basically anything on the go.
-i do not want a budget phone, i want power to do things.
what can you guys say about these factors compared to the eris? im especially interested in the longevity for i do not want to be outdone by some new smartphone so quickly with a 2-year contract. is the moto droid going be around for awhile? on a final note--design. i chose the eris because when i went to verizon i saw it and it looked so much more slick. and its a beauty.....

Well after I longpressed the su file and selected move, I went back to /system/xbin to paste it. I selected paste and it told me that I "Cannot paste here because the file system is read only." What? I then go back into setting, look at the apps on SD card, and they do not show up. I am running NexBeast FRF57 V0.1.1. My Titanium Backup is at version 3.2.4, I can reboot, still doesnt work. Superuser shows Titanium has permissions, so I am not sure what the deal is.
