FIFA 2010 by EA is out. I haven't tried it, but the pictures look promising. While I am not super excited for the game itself, I am excited for what this means regarding EA's future. I think this means we will see other 3D sports games by EA, like Madden!
I bought this game and then requested my refund because of lag issues and other little issues, but when I went to get the refund, there was no uninstall and I got my email saying that I was not charged and that the order was canceled.
I even went back and played it again to see if it worked or if it would be blocked or something, but it still plays properly. I was wondering if this will automatically uninstall later? I waited to see if they would uninstall it after the 24hour period, but its still here. Am I missing something? Am I going to get charged again? I'm just really confused about this as this is the first app that I have bought from the market.
Quite interesting quiz game. It has up-to-date database with thousands of questions related to World Cup 2010. Currently Semi-Finals. Online score board, the guy named "peter" has occupied the no.1 for several days. Two player mode let play with friends f2f, be fast and accurate.

So, recently the Lite beta version of Angry Birds was released to the Android Platform, sadly it was only released on the 2.2 market.
I have contacted the guys at Rovio, I have received an installer which I uploaded to my file server, so everybody can download it.

Note: They are releasing a new version in about a week or two, I am uploading that one as soon as they send me the preview. So if you wanna stay update, register on my blog, I will regularly send out emails with updates on exciting tech (I'm a geek lol) apps & updates on current apps.
Google had a couple presentations at GDC 2010. Is there any chance that PowerPoint, KeyNote or PDF versions of the presentations could be posted somewhere on the Android Development website? I bet a lot of work went into those presentations. I know they contain lots of valuable information. It makes sense to make that information available to all Android developers.
I am trying to build an app on my wife's phone that pranks her on April 01, April Fool's day of course. The app is going to change her background to look like the screen was cracked, the background is very convincing when I try it on my Droid (I was pranked similarly).
Anyway, digging into how this would work, I think its quite the process, however, I may be looking too far into this. I started diving into setting an alarm, however, I am confused about a couple things:
Would it be necessary for my wife's phone to load this prank application in the background each time she reboots her phone? I am assuming yes, as I believe this prank application would most likely invoke a broadcast receiver to "listen" for April 01, 2011? If the application doesn't need to load each time in the background, what facilitates Android alerting my application and firing it when April 01, 2011 comes around?
I hope that makes any sense, basically, I want to ensure this application runs on April 01, 2011 even if my wife's phone crashes or reboots.
What would be the most straightforward method of making this work? I apologize if I don't understand broadcast receivers properly, this is quite the new concept which I am not use to. The Service and Broadcast Receiver functionality is native to Android and not any other language, no?
I'm brand new to the Android world and, in fact, don't even have a phone yet. However, I'll be picking up the LG Optimus S w/Sprint in the next day or so. All my information (email, calendar, contacts, notes, etc) are all managed in Outlook (stand alone, not Exchange). I've been told that there's no way to sync directly from Outlook to an Android phone so I'm looking for the cheapest way to accomplish that and have good results.
My emails come through Gmail so that part is already done. I use Google's Calendar Sync program so my calendar is already in my Gmail account so that is also done. The contacts and notes are only in Outlook so that's where my main question lies..........
So has anyone found a good app that is good for the fifa fanatic? Is there an app that will be showing live matches ? Maybe something like sprint is doing for their customers...i know that's asking a lot but one can dream right?
How to download ROMS...I think. I went to [removed] in my browser and it downloaded the file but when I got to open it in the emulator it is saying "Load Rom Failed. Please try another file? It is a zip file. Do I need something extra downloaded on the phone to unzip it?
Just been looking around, and it has been done for 1.6 and above already and links are easy to find. Just wondering if anyone has put a link up to a 1.5 version yet, as a few people have said they modified the original apk to work on 1.5 instead. I don't know how to do this for myself, so does anyone have a link to a finished apk file?
Since I'm new to the smart phone/android market I have a couple of app questions.
When starting to play Asphalt 5 it says it needs to download a 96MB file and recommends using a wi-fi connection to do it. First, did you guys do it over the air or Wi-Fi? Second, is the game worth the 96mb download. How long does it take to download?
