For a few days I've been going through these forums attempting to find out why my Droid X would restart (Android + eye - soft restart) anytime I would receive and email or text message. I didn't find anything exactly like my occurrences, so if it is here, sorry for re-posting the same thing. It appears that when I installed a sound FX app and attempted to use one of the sounds from the downloaded app (scream) as my ringtone and/or notification sound. My phone would restart anytime I would receive a notification that would use the sound (except for phone calls, which reset my ringtone to a default ring?
I reset the sounds to default settings and it hasn't restarted since. I was wondering if anyone knew why this was occurring? I would really like to use this sound effect (at least for awhile). I have went to the developers site and it seems to be an older app for the android market and really no information on the sound FX app there. I put the title "Any notification restarts Droid X" because that is what I was trying to find to resolve the problem I had, and maybe it will be helpful for some one else.
I have noticed that once I have sent a text I am not getting any tone to let me know that the text has been delivered which is rather annoying as I have to keep on long pressing the text I have sent to "view report". I am getting the Notification tone Hours later after the text has got to the person I sent it to. On all my other phones (I am on 3 Mobile) the tone is straight away once the text gets to the other person.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just received an email notification that I starred the in the google complaint section as regards too the lag since updating to 2.01. I im sure why I would just now get a response about this considering I posted over a month ago.
I guess its just wishful thinking on my part that they might actually be coming out with a fix finally, or better yet 2.1.
For some reason I am not longer able to reply on that topic, so I will start a new post with my further input. I noticed that in the newer Android versions the system will now automatically mute audio streams while some types of audio notifications are playing. This is a nice solution for many types of audio. For music players this works well. My audio application is an audiobook player. The reason that I had posted the original topic about the ability to get a notification when other audio needs to play, is because for an audiobook, muting the audio isn't a very good solution. People miss part of the dialog of the audiobook while it is muted.
I now have customers writing to me and complaining that it skips part of their audiobook when other notifications play. It appears to be skipping to the listener because the audiobook continues to play but is muted while the other audio notification plays. Is there a way for my application to get a notification when its audio stream gets muted and unmuted?...............
Is there anyway to create folders for Photos? Right now I only have "Camera Pictures", "All Photos" and "All Downloads", but I want to be able to create my own folders etc...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot make calls by entering Contacts -> Contact photo -> Call icon. When I do that, nothing happens, the call icon plays dummy with no action. Otherwise, when I click the contact name and then the phone number, the call action works just fine.
I'm using Cyanogenmod 9 ivendor RC 3.1.
The update from 1-2 days ago or so, I guess. Now every time the app does it's job, it also gives an additional notice in the notification bar - A triangle with an exclamation point in it letting you know that you missed something. Driving me f'ing crazy! Anyone know how to disable that?...I can't figure it out.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI went to text someone today, and for what ever reason, the message failed to send, and I received the "Message not sent" notification. I tried again, and the message was sent. Now every time I send, or receive a message that notification pops up. "Message not sent - Select to review the message and try again" and when I open the error message, it triggers another to appear. "Undelivered message - Unable to Deliver this message" even though all the txts have been confirmed to go through. This is driving me crazy, any one have any thoughts? It even gives me the message when I open an old text that I have already read.

In my Java code I am setting the content of an ImageView to a Bitmap. However, before doing so I want to clip the Bitmap to a circular region. How would I go about this? I've been looking for some API that would let me set the alpha channel of the Bitmap to fully transparent for all pixels outside the circular region.

scrolling down - after the last item was reached the first begins (.., n-1, n, 1, 2, ..)
scrolling upward - after the first item was reached the last begins (.., 2, 1, n, n-1, ..)
It sounds simple conceptually but, apparently, there is no straightforward approach to do this.
I have already received an answer (from Streets Of Boston on Android-Developers google groups), but it sounds somehow ugly :) -
I did this by creating my own list-adapter (subclassed from BaseAdapter).
I coded my own list-adapter in such a way that its getCount() method returns a HUGE number.
And if item 'x' is selected, then this item corresponds to adapter position='adapter.getCount()/2+x'
And for my adapter's method getItem(int position), i look in my array that backs up the adapter and fetch the item on index:(position-getCount()/2) % myDataItems.length
You need to do some more 'special'stuff to make it all work correctly, but you get the idea.
In principle, it is still possible to reach the end or the beginning of the list, but if you set getCount() to around a million or so, this is hard to do :-)

I'm trying to use the Media Recorder to have my application continuously record audio in memory (to a circular buffer of a known size). Indeed, I'd like to be able to play back the past 10 seconds of recorded based on a certain event in my program. Much of the Media API is designed to linearly record audio to a file. Has anyone an idea on how I could best do this with or without the default API?
