Sprint HTC Hero :: Way To Save Pictures From Website To Phone?
Jan 31, 2010I'm new to all this jargon so please be kind! I want to be able to save pictures from the Internet on my phone when I am browsing the Internet on my phone. For example, say I am on a website and I see a picture I like how do I save it to my phone? You can't click save as anywhere, can you? Is what I'm wanting to do called taking a screenshot? Is that what's it's called on the ipod touch when you click the two buttons and it saves it? If so, I'll go to that thread. Oh, also, when would I use the footprint widget? Does that just save a bunch of pictures for easy viewing?

Jan 22, 2010I've been a long time WinMo user and generally pretty happy (and, no, I don't need a barrage of "WinMo sucks" comments :-)). But I decided to switch to Android recently. In fact, since our contract was up for renewal I bought one each for our family of four. So, as of two days ago, there are four new Sprint Hero users in our household. Given our new toys, we sometimes find time to speak to each other :-)Anyway, what this does mean is I am in the market for a bunch of accessories and wondered if folks had recommendations for a good source. I am looking for a holster (simple horizontal design in black or something). I don't want a "clip-in" design since I prefer the flap that just falls over the phone.My wife and kids won't go for the holster design :-) So, we are probably looking at either a soft or hard "shell".
I'd be interested in why folks prefer one over the other (soft shell vs. hard shell). The kids will also look for some striking designs, which we need anyway since right now we have four identical looking phones.With my WinMo phones I never bothered with screen protectors (or ended up regreting that decision). Touch wood, I have owned such phones for 4/5 years and never had a situation where I wished I had a screen protector.I will be buying an additional car charger cable (have one already).Beyond those things, I'd be interested in any other suggested accessories since I want to buy all this stuff together. So, any suggestions for this, plus a recommended place to buy this.

Nov 7, 2009I am avid on getting OEM chargers and stuff.The ones Sprint seems to have are generic.I would like to buy the OEM charger with data cable and maybe a car charger.I can seem to find anything HTC.This thing seems to also have a proprietary USB connection.Please guide me to a good place to get these items.I am new to Sprint and Hero with Google Android.

Nov 12, 2009I am unable to login to the Sprint Navigation website. Even though I am entering my correct phone number and the PIN the Sprint HTC Hero Nav app gave me, I am getting an "Incorrect Phone number or PIN" error message. Called Sprint support, they weren't able to login either.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Looking For Internet Website To Check Speed Test?
Oct 22, 2009So I was very happy to show off my Hero to my friend who just got his pre. Anyway he was on this website to check his internet speed on his pre and so I wanted to check mine. I was averaging ~500kbps and I hit 1000kbps once. But my friend, he was averaging 8.5MBps, yes MBps. Obviously same network, at the same time. What up wit dat?
We also tried to go to websites we had never been to at the same time and he was beating me pretty handly. Anyway, I wanted to see what you guys were getting? Site is mobilespeedtest.com, then it run test and post results! Whoa, just did it right now and I got 1311kbps.

"This device is currently sold out online. Some Sprint Stores do have it and we're regularly receiving more.
Find a Sprint Store near you."
From past experience, does anyone know if this means that the website won't have any for a while, or can we still expect them to get some? It's been more than a month since I've seen them in stock on the website. How long could it possibly take to get a new shipment?

Jul 5, 2010I have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

I bought them on the VZW website and got both for around $22 bucks each. I've been happy with both even though I haven't been driving much. Has anyone seen a car dock that doesn't block the camera?
