Mar 13, 2010I was cleaning all the crap off my phone I don't use anymore and I believe I accidently removed the bluetooth software that allows it to connect to stereo bluetooth headsets. I can control the player with the headset, I can make phone calls from it, but when I try to play music there is no sound.
I was trying to reset the phone using RUU, but it reboots the phone and then says it cannot reconnect after that and the software shuts down. I can still sync with outlook, so my driver is not the issue. I am out of ideas.
Is there anyway possible to reinstall just the bluetooth portion of the rom?
Sprint HTC Hero :: Can't Take Upgrade Option
Jul 21, 2010Ive been trying to downgrade to version .5 for days! Im about ready to throw my hero out the window! I have rooted it before, So I know im capable of it. Nothing ever goes right, ive tried every method gold card included. When im trying to downgrade to .5 when it come time "upgrade" the only option that the installer gives me is .6 which I already have! So ive tried to run that to see what might and happen and it always gets an error 170 usb connection after its at about 70 percent!

Jun 14, 2010I am using the stock texting option and have a group set up. This weekend I sent out a group text and several of them went to the email addresses. I think this is because the ?primary? contact is the phone then the email address. Before the update all texts would go to the proper number so the people would get the texts. Does anybody know how to change the ?primary? contact? I hate to think this is just another thing that 2.1 added (or took away) to make this phone??.well less that I expect at this point.

Feb 17, 2010I recently wanted to get some addresses I have stored in contacts and found that they only show up as "show on map". The problem is, quite a few of my addresses are really long and you can't see the whole address under the "show on map" option, and I don't want to map it! I just want to see it so I can write it on an envelope. I guess I could map it every time I need an address, which is a waste of time, but even then, some of the addresses are in other countries and the map func. fails the address disappears before I get a chance to write down all the info. Is there a way to actually view the entire address without the map part?
On a side note, does anyone know why I can't sync birthday info for contacts from google contact's? Mine never show up, I only get Facebook birthdays.
And while I'm at it, even thought I use mybackup pro, when I have to do a hard reset, all my stored ringtones for contacts disappear and i have to program them all in again.

Oct 21, 2010Today I woke up, tried to pull down my email and look up a couple things on the web and my phone keeps telling me I have no connection. The sync icon (arrows chasing each other in a circle) is stuck at the top of the screen and my battery is disappearing rapidly. I've done a couple battery pulls and reboots with no change.What I'd NORMALLY do is update the data profile under menu/settings/about phone/system updates... But something I didn't know about CM6 is that this option is not there. (unless it's hidden somewhere else, then please point me in the right direction)."No problem", I think There are other ways to skin this cat. I type in ##3282#, which should allow me into a menu that allows me to refresh the data service... The phone doesn't respond at all "Odd", I think. So I try ##786#, which should open the reset menu... The phone didn't respond to that, either.

Feb 11, 2010I go to settings from the icon, and there is no option to change my Data Sync options! It has totally disappeared. I'm running AOSP 1.6, but it was just there earlier today. Mar 5, 2010I'm new to this forum and have just purchased a BNIB Hero locked to Orange,Rom Ver: 2.73.61.66.I am not much phone or PC savy but am learning.This is my first Android Phone.I discovered this site last night and spent a few hours reading, what a great site.Managed to set up a Google link, up loaded a bar scanner and scanned a couple of apps off this site, excellent.Unfortunately also spent a few hours trying to transfer a blue-tooth file from my existing phone to the Hero, to eventually find out the Orange Hero is not set up for this, I was truly amazed at this news.I am able to pair both devises, just the transfer won't take place.I searched this site and the web for an application that will allow me to do this, can anyone suggest one.

Obviously BT file transfer doesn't work
I knew that voice dialling isn't support - why on earth not though?
I've just paired it with my BT car stereo, and I have also discovered that it doesn't download the phonebook to the stereo like it did from my TyTN II!
So how am I supposed to dial in the car!? I'm handsfree but to dial I can't voicedial or scroll through the phonebook, so the only option is to hope the number is in my received/missed/dialled calls, or pull over and dial it from my phone manually.
Is there any chance that this will appear in a future update?

I don't get any error message but the people I send a picture to never receive it and when someone sends me a picture in a text I never receive it. I cut the resolution on my phone down to 1mb but it didn't help
