I'm using Matrix 0.6 rom,and it's AOSP based, so it had landscape launcher and android keyboard. I was successfully able to pull the .apk for the keyboard, and install it on a different rom, but for the launcher, it failed. Anyone have any ideas?

I recently installed the new security patch that came out around the release of the EVO because I was unaware of what it entailed. However this battery life problem has become sickening and I would really love to root my phone and get rid of all this sprint trash on my phone.

Is there a way to see if they're installing to SD?My phone is rooted with A2SD installed and I have a ext3 384MB ext3 partition. Am I missing something?Nevermind I figured it out, apps are indeed installing to SD, the reason why internal storage is decreasing is because of cache and other system data.

View 26 Replies View RelatedI just installed cyanogen 6.0 on my htc hero cdma and now I have no market app. I dont have any file manager like astro where I can install apk files through the sdcard. Ive tried using the adb push command from my pc but it says that it couldnt because its a read-only file system. (lost me there!) Is it possible to install it by flashing a zip of it from recovery like a rom. Im kind of stuck here, I have no way of installing new apps....

The problem I ran into though was installing a new ROM - going through the initial set up I was not able to see any any of the text that I was typing. Trying to set up my Google account was impossible because the email field just stayed blank no matter how many times I would press a letter.
Now I had this same problem months ago when I tried rooting before, and just like this time I did try installing the ROM a couple of times. However, after it not working I gave up and installed the Sprint Stock RUU.
I have rooted and installed the fresh rom with gumbo on my sprin hero my wife has a cellular south hero and wants me to do the same for hers i was wondering if there was a simple guide to doing this the step by step guide for sprints hero was cool and easy to use.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone last night and was reinstalling all my apps and widgets. Before I went to bed, I clicked to download the HTC widgets battery, coin, and dice. I woke this morning to find 2 of them were stuck installing and one was downloading. I was able to cancel the downloading one and download and install it. The others are still stuck labeled 'installing' and I can't find any way to cancel or make them proceed. Any suggestions?
View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning 2.0d for several days now and love it. Very quick and stable when using sense ui, however when I switch to the stock launcher some very strange stuff happens.
The thing takes 3-6 seconds to open from sleep, it just hangs on the background image with no icons or nothing. Then after that finally loads there is an even longer delay when you try to pull up the programs.
After you do this the first time the launcher becomes very quick and normal, that is until you put the phone back to sleep, when you put the phone back to sleep and re-open the whole process repeats.
This does not happen with sense, so is autokiller, killing launcher causing it to completely reload everytime? Is there a way to switch it where it kills sense and lets launcher run?
If you want the nexus one launcher and you are running 2.1 (damage control/darchdroid) Look for "Helix Launcher" in the market....it is free and can have up to seven screens. Just hit menu, and configure up to seven screens. I just downloaded and it looks pretty sweet so far. I have heard from both 2.0.1 rooted and non rooted users as being able to see this in the market.Please let me know if you can�t. If you have a rooted Android 2.0.1 device and can�t see this app, there is a simple hack you can do to make 2.1 apps viewable and then down loadable in the market.

I have sense installed CM6 and LP. I looked to recreate the Sense UI Email Widget, but couldn't find it. So I thought, ok I'll upgrade to LP+ and that will have the Email widget.
Nothing. I have searched the market for Email Widget as well, but don't find anything similar. So what are you, running LP or LP+ using for an Email Widget similar to the one in Sense UI.
Yes, I have the email "shortcut" or "icon" but I want the full 4x4 page widget like I used to have.
Is there a way to get the icons at the bottom of this launcher, but still keep HTC Sense as your UI?

Now I rebooted and I have the screen with the android on a skateboard and it says cyanogen(mod). It keeps popping up like its loading and I've read it can take sometime but I feel like it has gone on for 15 minutes. All I'm wondering is if I'm on the right track.

Okay, sorry about that first paragraph. Short description, This is being released because of another thread where it was requested. These are my personal mods that I made and use for myself but am now sharing with you all. I havent tried/looked into making a "flashable update zip" so for now this comes as a package of APK files that you will push to your phone via ADB. I have made this slightly easier for you as I have provided all the commands needed that can simply be pasted into a terminal window.......................
There is one already installed in Fresh 2.0d. I'm switching back to DamageControl v2.07 and I know there wasn't the launcher in there before. Does anyone know if there is a launcher I can flash onto Damage?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to report a potential issue with the Sprint HTC Hero. Me and a few friends have experienced an issue where if you:
1) install an application
2) update it or uninstall and reinstall
3) reboot your phone
Then on many applications, the launcher icon will be messed up as well as the name of the application under the icon. In many of these cases, this renders the application unusable including Google Sky and Pandora. If you then uninstall these applications and reinstall them they will work fine until you reboot your phone again. The problem doesn't seem to exist if you install the application the first time. Only does it exist if you update it and reboot or if you uninstall/reinstall and reboot. There is a fairly lengthy thread on the Android Developers mailing list regarding this. Google seems to think it is unique to the Hero itself since a stock Android device (ie: G1) doesn't have this problem. Other developers are experiencing the same thing.
Has anyone one been using the launcher Pro Beta, would like some feedback, on weather this app helps in resolving some of the dialing issues that are in the HTC stock UI, just curious, the lag on calls is really a PITA, any input on this app.
View 29 Replies View RelatedI installed the official 2.1 update. I'm loving a lot about it. However when i installed a barcode reader like Barcode reader and Shop Savvy, I lost all connections to the internet, the market, Email, and even the weather. I was able to use the phone and text, but that was it. Then last night I installed the XDA keyboard, and I again lost all my data connections except phone and text. Is there a setting I need to change? or any other ideas for how to fix this issue? I should be able to install apps and not loose data connections. Should I try reinstalling the update?
Also, the battery seems to last just a tade less longer than 1.5 did. But no worries there. Would like to install apps without loosing connections. Photoshop, Google Goggles, History eraser, Astro file manager, Google maps (update i think), Shazam, Facebook, 3Banana notes, and Pandora. All that is on my home screen that might interfer with something is the clock with the weather widget, the people favorites widget, and that's all. Otherwise the home screens are just icons to the apps I use. Not sure if any of this helps sovle my problem.
I am sorta shocked, only for the fact that he freakd out that I had installed a new custom boot screen and told him that rooting doesn't neccessarily remove anything sprint puts on the phone. I guess more shocked that he knew what it was.
Regardless, if I own the phone, I am going to do what ever hat I want to it even if it voids the warranty because that shouldn't be an issue.
im not able to find launcher pro in the market and when i try to install the apks which i downloaded from the authors twitter page in says "launcherPro cannot be installed in your device" or something like that.i was wondering if someone with launcherpro on their behold 2 give their apks or tell me how to install it.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI installed ADW.Launcher today on my Galaxy S, and have ended up with a black screen. I'd like to fix it without a factory reset, if possible.Galaxy S, Android 2.1, bought in Singapore, SingTel settings but bought it unlocked. Currently in Indonesia. (Can't look up Baseband Version, Kernel Version and Build Number on the phone now for obvious reasons.)A short while after installing ADW.Launcher, the Home button became unresponsive, and a minute or two later the phone restarted itself (the way it's done by itself a handful of times since I bought the phone - without going through the whole power down and power up sequences of sounds and graphics). Then I only had a black screen with date and time at the bottom, and the menu and back buttons lit up, and now I can't get the display back. It seems to start normally, with the logos and sounds, but just returns to that black screen with date and time.
I know something's going on inside because I can swipe to unlock the screen (giving me a purely black screen). If I then press and hold Home, I get the haptic vibration that normally goes with the "recently used" menu. But if I randomly tap all over the black screen, and try to use the menu and back buttons (guessing where the menu items are) I get no response, and no haptic vibration.Holding down the power button gives me the usual power menu - I can select "Power off," but it restarts. I've removed the battery a couple of times, waited and replaced it - but no change.
At first I thought it was related to my SIM card, as it did the self-restart thing yesterday about 20 min after I got a new SIM card. But doing a google search suggests that this problem is sometimes related to launchers. And I removed the SIM card and restarted (removing battery) and it didn't help.The closest I could find to an answer to this problem was in the Droid X forum: HELP! I uninstalled launcher pro, and now have a black screen! - The solution there was to do a factory reset. I'd really rather not do that, but may not have a choice.
